Didn't say much but he took a few shots at the passing game and how it'd be better if the offense caught a pass lol He seemed pretty comfortable and kept it real.
Some will view the video of the stadium filling up (and the fans rushing to the gates) in bad taste. If you missed it, they were joking about what Ross would rather see on the field, better play from the offense etc... and then they showed the video of the stadium filling up quickly (one of those fast forward clips, I'm sure there is an official name for this) and I think it was Griese that said "I'm sure you'd rather see this"...
I'm taking it you got it from Finheaven where I saw a thread started by someone who saw it on the scroll on NFLN. Apparently he wasn't the only who saw it but it hasn't been on the their scroll since, my guess is they got bad info and took it down, would be nice though if truw.
The stadium isn't going to be filling up until the offense starts putting points on the board and the Dolphins start winning more games than they lose. So Griese can joke all he wants, but Ross better hope for much better play from the offense, if he expects more fans at the games. Right now I expect to see a lot of empty seats this coming season.
No, I'm not sure I believe anyone actually heard this. I keep seeing this rumor but I'm sure it is someone who doesn't know how to read or something like that.
Not heard it, and it'd be extremely surprising. It's not anywhere on PFT either, so I'm not sure NFLN even said anything.
These rumors have way of feeding on themselves . A misprint or error by the scroll transcriber can catch on like wildfire in the internet etherwold . Having said that Ross is a businessman and why not sell a business if someone is willing to pay more than he paid for it.He may have to wait a long time however but at least any potential buyer will know the team is in play
Decorum prevents me from saying what I don't like about him. Probably different things than Ronnie Bass though.
Because I don't like him and my biggest fear is that all of Ireland's draft picks and FA signings could go bust and Ross will still stand by him.
I think the only person concerned with the possibility of Ross selling the team, would be Ireland. Because there is no way a new owner would keep him around. If Ross wants to sell the team, I hope he sells it to someone who actually wants to build a winner. Perhaps he should see if Mickey Arison is interested, because we all know he will do what is necessary to bring a winning team to Dolphin fans.
Just because you don't agree with his decisions, let's not ****ing pretend Ross isn't trying his best to build a winner. I understand you like to ***** about the dolphins because it's the only thing in your life that sucks, but ***** about real things please.
I hope Ross doesn't sell, he's had a couple rookie mistakes, but overall, I know he cares, I know he will spend, I know he knows we need improvements in the stadium, and I know he will butt out of the football decisions.
yea well his "best" clearly aint good enough. and if Ross gone means Ireland is gone, then that will be the best decision for this franchise moving forward. Personally I don't give a damn who it is, Ross, Philbin, Sherman, there's isn't one coach or executive I wouldn't sacrifice to ensure Ireland is no longer employed by this organization.
Ross's fault has been getting strapped with Parcells and inherting Ireland. Along the way he must have taken some bad advice on keeping him. I get the feeling Irish is done this year as the team shows no sign of a better showing than last year. Other than that he hasn't been cheap as an owner and has made efforts to bring an impact HC and Peyton Manning here last year. He made an error in how he went after Harbaugh, BFD. His biggest mistake has to been to hang onto people making bad football decisions IMO. Huzenga did it for years but was blessed with a more talented team so we all jumped at the carrot season after season. He was smart enough to walk away from Fisher. I really don't see the big deal of minority ownership by celebrities and if the team was winning neither would anyone else.
That's the problem. If this is the best he's got, hopefully we'll have a buyer soon... Huizenga tried his best too...
Had no idea who he is till I googled him and I'm intrigued. And no one is saying Ross don't care about winning, but the first impressions he has made might be irreversible and his reputation has been laid down like a foundation. It's not personal Sonny. It's strictly business.
He said " I was gonna fix this team, but then I got high. I was gonna get myself a ring, but then I got high. Now I can't fill seats and I know why, because I got high, because I got high, because I got high."
Ross's biggest problem was thinking he could make money with the Dolphins by turning the stadium into an event with the celebrity owners, clubs, orange carpet and that MOTHER ****ING FAN VISION WHATEVER THE **** THAT EVEN IS. I won't sit here and say he doesn't want the Dolphins to be winners because he does. I just think he thought he could make them marketable even if they weren't immediately winners with all his bull****, which was a false assumption on his part. If he now realizes winning is everything, and everything else is just bull**** then great. If not, I hope he is looking to sell. And I hope he sells to a football guy but a football guy who will let other football people do their football thing and hand Ireland his walking papers. /end sober rant
Ross gets too much hate IMO. The guy is a fan of the team, is willing to spend his own money to build a winner and keep the fans and players happy and comfortable by renovating the stadium and the facilities. You can't ask for more than that. He's also displaying patience. Something that is valuable when you're trying to build a winner.
I don't understand the hate about this. He tried some new things. Its not all he's trying. He is trying to improve the team, but his hands were shackled at first with Parcells and his contract. We've got a new coaching staff and a proper power structure. You guys act like the not on the field talent things was/is all he's done. I never heard a single statement that said J-Lo's minority ownership changes everything. That hate and anger over these actions are silly quite frankly...they haven't hurt us in the least bit.
I can't pretend to understand whethere he's good or bad for the job, only the things that I do know that are important, which he seems to have, I guess I don't know what it takes to be a great owner.
Hey, I live in America. I can ***** about anything I want to. My major problem with Ross is that he kept Ireland as the teams GM. I admit that. If it makes you feel any better, I will ***** about Tropical Storm Issac. This damn storm has prevented me from playing golf for the last two days and I won't be able to play tomorrow because the course will be too wet. Now do you feel better that I *****ed about something besides Ross and Ireland?
That is based entirely on the fact that Ross kept Ireland and I don't think Ireland has any idea of how to build a winning football team. Ross can always change my mind by getting rid of Ireland after this season if the Dolphins once again have a losing record. All I want is an owner who is actually capable of hiring a football staff which can put a winning football team on the field. Since Ross became the majority owner of the Dolphins, the team has a combined 20-28 record. Wanting to win and knowing how to put the right people in the right jobs to produce a winner are two completely different things. I believe Ross wants to win. I just have my doubts that he is the type of owner who knows enough about the NFL to hire the right people for the job. Perhaps Ross will prove me wrong, but so far he really hasn't shown much as an NFL owner, as far as I am concerned.
