I bet we'll see significant change from the last poll on this.

You should make a separate poll asking who we think should make it, then compare the results.

Those are 7. One of those guys won't make it but I need to see more. I don't think any of these guys get cut until after the Dallas game.

    Wait, I forgot Marlon Moore.

This is damn near impossible. Too many guys that are on the fringe here.

I included him in my 6. I really want Matthews to make the team, but I just don't know if the team likes him more than the 5 others that I picked (not named Bess).

    Went with:

    Bess
    Hartline
    Gates
    Moore
    Naanee
    Hogan

This time around dropped Wallace. I actually don't think Hogan makes it, but I really want him to. I believe we keep five. If we keep six, I could see it being Wallace still.

four of you have voted Naanee. He is almost 30 and will take snaps from younger guys. I know some of you are voting for him because you think Miami will take him, but I can not in good conscious do it.

Besides Bess and Hartline, you have 9 guys that are about equal. I haven't seen any of them take the opportunity and run with it. That includes Naanee who may be starter right now but hasn't shown me anything. Maybe the coaching staff has a better idea watching film and practices and thinks someone will become a stud when the real bullets start flying, and is keeping it under wraps, but who knows.

I believe Moore is the only other one that has scored a touchdown for us in a real game.

Wallace is still my diamond in the rough. The dude has too much talent to not make this roster. Despite the "ankle weights" embarrassment, there aren't too many guys with his size and speed.

This poll isn't about who we want. It's about who we think makes the roster. As bad as Naanee is, if he hasn't been canned by now, I don't have much faith that he will. Plus, I haven't really followed it here, but I know he was a special teams ace in San Diego.

I don't want Naanee or Hartline. I just think both are a given however. I would cut Naanee and see if I could shop Hartline for a decent pick. Then keep Wallace and Fuller in their place.

IMO We should be thinking long term production in those we decide to keep, not instant gratification.

That said, I'd like to think that Miami's going to either trade for or sign 1 or 2 guys that aren't on the team that make the final 53.

Osgood was great as well, but I'm pretty sure Naanee has always been a pretty decent ST player as well, though maybe I'm wrong.

For me, it's because he showed what his speed can do. Did he get both feet in-bounds on that sideline catch? Nope. It sure as hell didn't bounce off his hands though. He made a nice adjustment and almost a terrific catch.

    My original list was:

    Bess
    Fuller
    Hogan
    Matthews
    Naanee
    Pruitt

I had Hartline on IR because I thought the new 8 game IR rule would be ratified by the NFLPA. That wasn’t the case because the league wanted to tie it to more padded practices.

    My new list is:

    Bess
    Gates
    Hartline
    Matthews
    James Jones
    Pruitt

I voted five only... I think we'll add another from somewhere... anywhere...

    Bess - obv
    Hartline - obv
    Gates - speed
    Moore - speed 2
Matthews - best of the youngest guys, has a little bit of everything, plus he can assist in punt returns, and plays special teams coverage too. I take him over Pruitt/Wallace because he has better potential.

I only voted for 5 and one of them hasn't sniffed the field since the 1st practice. Pretty sad really. Maybe Egnew can move to WR at least he can separate vertically.

I think Philbin's logic for going in a different direction that he had with Johnson applies to Naanee. I am hoping he stays consistent. Naanee has not proven he can be the guy and he has been consistent in performance on the field in the preseason, as he remains in a disappearing act. I realize the poll is not who we want, but who we think Philbin will want. He will lose a few points with me if he wants Naanee.

I went against my original line of thinking about our receivers and how RAC is important to our offense. It's important if you can CATCH THE BALL FIRST! So guys like Hartline, Moore and Gates they don't have to be especially tough over the middle... that's why we have running backs and tight ends that can do that instead (as long as our tight ends can catch the ball........................)

I know this is a bit...unconventional to say the least. I'd resign Chad Johnson at this point. Sit his *** down and tell him "Remember how being cut felt. One more mistake and it will happen again."

Let's not pretend we have a ton of better options.

Pruitt is quite a bit faster than Moore BTW (4.40 to 4.49), as well as two inches taller and 15 pounds heavier.

    I voted for

    Bess
    Hartline
    Gates
    Pruitt
    Moore
    Wallace

I think Pruitt makes it because of special teams - Moore and Wallace are also ST contributors. I'd like to see them keep one of the rookies on the 53 instead of Moore or Wallace - just haven't thought through how much of ST impact they need that person to make and how much Matthews, Cunningham or Fuller could contribute. To me, Matthews has shown the most upside among the rookies, but I haven't paid real close attention to the 2nd halves of these preseason games either.

I agree with others that the Dolphins will probably trade for or bring in a receiver via the waiver wire. Will also be interesting to see how many of the rookies they put on the practice squad.

Too funny. I didn't select Naanee for this poll, but to think you have better grasp of WR play than Philbin is a hoot.
