I refuse to click on the existing thread, but holy freaking hell!! Please note that if you haven't seen season 4 or the series, I suggest you get the f*** out of this thread, open up Netflix and get back to me in a month. SPOILERS What can I say. This may go down as my favorite show of all time, it's already way ahead of the Sopranos, it destroyed 24 and may soon overtake my all time favorite, the X-Files. I just finished the 11th episode where Walter basically has a nervous breakdown in the crawlspace and can't sleep.. Some of the most amazing directing, acting and storytelling in the history of TV and FILM, IMHO. Don't want to get to in to the character details, but I'll tell you who I like and dislike: Walter - Can't stand him. Manipulative, holier than thou attitude and a man that is ONLY conflicted when his *** is on the line. In a perfect universe, where everything goes to plan, he will have no qualms killing people or manufacturing a deadly substance that leaves victims in their wake. Gus - What a freaking monster. I love his character. In a way, I respect his character more than Walter. He is what he is and doesn't try to hide anything. A calculating, conniving Cartel boss that does not f*** around. I loved how he took out the Mexian cartel by exacting revenge. Skyler- I started out liking her, but realized that her moral compass was as broken as Gus. The murder of her ex-boss (is it murder? Would she be charged with murder in a court of law for kidnapping and threatening him?) shows that multiple bad decisions (like Walter) have consequences. You can't bully people without repurcussions. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Karma for her choosing money over sanity, for strong-arming the car wash owner. She now has blood all over hands. Whether it was direct or indirect, she ordered the move on him. Walt Jr- What can i say. I love the kid and his innocence. Amazing acting. Pinkman - Oddly, the "moral compass" of the show. A confused kid in over his head. The only person left that seems to have a heart. He's been manipulated by Gus, Walt and everyone else around him. Hank and Marie- Love the two of them. Hank is smarter than Walter.. Let's see if he has the balls to take out Walter when the time comes... Or do the actions of Walter to save Hank from the cartel end this series in a deadlock? I can't wait to find out.. Even Hank, with his illegal tracking device, bends what is right and wrong.. However, I would say his law breaking is justified.. Or is it just a death wish? He has stared at death twice, is the third time the charm with his stupidity in taking on Gus while going rogue? I couldn't finish the last 2 episodes of season 4, but I'm sure I'm in for a treat. Can't wait to catch up on the season 5 thread once I catch up in the next week or two!!
I've watched every single episode from the beginning. But rather than criticize my synopsis (I presume around Walter), care to tell me otherwise? In the first episode he attempted to blow out his brains when he thought the police were on to him. Or that very important flashback when he was with Skyler before they purchased their home and you could see that he actually had ambition and wasn't the supposedly happy Chemistry teacher content with where he was in life. I just can't be sympathetic to his character, especially in the wake of how much he has risked. If family was TRULY his only worry, he would have let Jessie die. He was set for life, working for Gus. But his loyalty to Jesse (deserved or not) outweighed his loyalty towards his family. Now they are all at risk, including his brother law.
Well.. Walt is certainly more decisive and calculating in his actions, but Hank has basically single handedly uncovered the entire operation and is amazing detective... Then again, "A day late and a dollar short" pretty much sums up his character. He is a tragic hero. I would HATE to see his character killed off.
Walter may be manipulative now, but he's still a boss that gets the job done and kills anyone that gets in his way.
The school this was filmed in was my daughters biology class room. When I watch it it's weird because I recognize houses stores roads ect. I just started watching season one on 11th show. Sad because so much of it is real here. Jackie Chan did a movie across the street from the school. If you get a call for a fill in you start at $250 for the day good food and sometimes the scenery is nice if you know what I mean. I've been in a couple good movie's now it's always fun and you get to meet a star here and there.
