Wow....Really don't like cutting Chad like that. I just wish we would of waited it out a little. I feel bad for him just everything at once on him. :'(
That was pretty tense at the end there....his head that supposedly left a 3 inch laceration looked fine to me....
Forget the QB wives. Jake's wife is hotter than any of them. After seeing Eric Winston's wife in some pix, I believe offensive linemen get the best looking wives, not QBs.
it was so nice to hear a coach say something like..make sure you get that ball for him its his first touchdown.
tough to watch the end with chad, but it may be for the better. Re: Hogan, had anyone noticed his openness during all the training camp days? I haven't read much about him...can he get open against the 1s too or just the 3s?
Agreed, while what he did was horribly wrong, it's definitely hard to watch. You can tell he's got a passion for the game and to see him bounced out no matter what the reason is just sad. Best of luck to him unless he ends up with the Jets/Pats/Bills
If we went by coach's comments in that episode, Hogan makes the roster well before Wallace would. The other players notice how much Hogan is open too. As soon as they hit the locker room, Moore and Tannehill are both telling Devlin how he missed seeing a wide open Hogan.
I thought Philbin danced a little bit with Chad. Just say it. Tell him he is gone. Also Matt Moore seems like a big douche to me.
Much better show this week. Highlight was the OL coach. I felt bad for Chad. Guess I'm just a softy. So, does this make it hard to hide Chris Hogan on the practice squad?
My take on episode 2... The good: Hogan...Hogan...Hogan. Holy crap did he come out of nowhere. I would like to see if 7/11 is open that much vs better competition. Would have been nice if Devlin saw him during the game. Dan Campbell being a harass but then pulling back to show he is there for each of them after the chew out session. Way to win over each and every TE. Les Brown has no future at TE and really needs to be transitioned to WR. Even the coaches said he was more of a WR body wise. We didn't see much from the D, so nothing good to say there. Love the bond the OL has. It is nasty and they will fight to death for each other. Sherman...I honestly didn't know he had that kind of fire. Love it. Now the bad... Devlin....he has to see the field better and notice guys like Hogan when they are hat wide open. The haircuts. I admit they are part of rookie hazing. Still....no need to put a dick and balls on the guys head. Can't fault Philbin for not being thrilled with that. Sean Smith. Guy has all the attitude you would expect from a top corner. Looks great in practice but can't cover or tackle crap in a game. Maybe he should pretend every WR he faces is Chad Johnson. Speaking of Johnson...he screwed up big time. I am not sure though I came away from this with Philbin being in the right. His mind was made up to cut him before even talking to Chad. Not saying he shouldn't have been cut and that it was wrong to do so. But I would have thought that Philbin would have asked Chad for his account of what happened and then made his decision based off that and the other incidents he was going with. The move had to be made, most likely, but I would have covered all bases with evidence before doing so. Philbin a few times had "what the hell do I do now" looks. After getting the Garrard news he spun around in his chair like a lost kid. Just something to keep an eye on. Wallace. He went off on backups in the game, but he can't get open vs our d in practice. That worries me big time. What is going to happen vs a Revis? Yikes.....that is not a good feeling. All in all I like the energy of the team, the tempo, the fire the coaches have and how the players are responding to them. Now I just hope that they can make it happen on Sundays.
I wish we had a clip of the play where Hogan gains 20 yards of separation on the corner. That was awesome.
I noticed the "what the hell do I do now looks" as well. Couldn't tell if I was buying too much into it or it was just the initial reaction to what he was finding out. Interesting either way
The whole Chad Johnson thing was really hard to watch honestly. It seemed like Chad knew that this was the final straw going into it. The thing is that as low as our franchise is right now we really can't afford anymore bad media. Chad is a bad media magnet. I do feel bad for the guy, he worked his butt of to get back to form. He had the respect of his teammates. You can tell that he knew that there is a good chance that this was the end of his career. It had to be done though. Nobody is bigger than the organization. Wish Chad the best of luck and hopefully, he gets his act together.
that episode is going to be hard to top... amazing stuff!!! Philbin from beginning to end was masterful. The thing with his kid, just heartbreaking... and then heartwarming at the same time. I'm so ****ing glad we got him over Jeff Fisher!
I want to see Brown and Hogan more against Carolina. I also want to see Moore at wr a bit more. I think it is possible Hartline starts the year on PUP, which means he misses a chunk of games. I like Hogan.
One thing has stood out to me regarding the roster. The two rookie free agent corners, Scott and Hughes, are completely absent. I was beginning to wonder if they are even on the roster.
