Just found it interesting that they would think that adding Tebow and Sparano would somehow change their trajectory.

 

only change in trajectory is the ball off Carpenter's and Folk's foot.

 

Why wouldn't they think that? They're delusional.

 

My opinions on Vontae have been formed by years of similar reports both in Miami and in college. They're supported by what coaches have said about him during this show, by his college coach suspending him and by how he's played on the field. Those 10 seconds of footage are just more of the same. Just visual proof about what has been hinted at and could be easily implied from years of performance. At this point Vontae is a supremely talented player who has severely under-performed that talent and is still showing little to make you believe it will ever change. He's not a player that is in danger of being cut, but he is a player who is in danger of not being worth re-signing when his contract is up.

 

If he wasn't going often then Philbin wouldn't make a comment about being 51 and controlling his bladder better than Vontae. The very next scene he asked Vontae, as a joke, if he went to the bathroom. Obviously it's an issue.

The reason it's a concern is because we have never run practices like this before and he's being exposed. Does he have the talent to overcome it? Of course. Does he have the mental fortitude? Who knows right now.

 

Yes I agree it was an issue with Philbin. Philbin said it happened "the other day at walk through", it wasn't multiple times.

I'm not defending Vontae. What I'm sayin is (as Raf pointed out) he's been his way since day 1 and when he's on the field he performs.

This IS a new coaching squad though...I hope he uses this opportunity of seeing himself via Hard Knocks as a wake up call to correct himself and become an even better player then what I've enjoyed so far through out his career.

Next year is a contract year for Vontae, not this year.

 

I thought for sure their first round pick was going to be a veils goal kicker after the Sparano signing. Fist pump!

Potential aside, he doesn't underwhelm me. Inconsistent? I would agree based only on what the coaches have been stressing to him, not from seeing it myself (I'm not a defensive backs coach). They (coaches) want him to give maximum effort because they KNOW what he can do, and that I have seen for myself.

He's made more plays in our secondary than anyone since he's been here, especially when you include his tackling ability.

 

As long as two of those wins are against the Jets.

 

Seeing how winded Vonte was I bet he didn't even use the restroom I bet he just used it as an excuss to get away because he is so out of shape.

Yes everyone here wants us to go to the Super Bowl ASAP. But that guy just gave every nfl team abd thier fans a reason to point and laugh at the dolphin's fan base.

A timelined Super Bowl prediction is always lame. It proves your team is currently subpar and is a shot in the dark anyway.

No one is saying we will suck, or don't enjoy the season or the show. But predicting super bowls? Seriously?
