I'd propose a Free Agent money system until the start of the regular season and a traditional waiver rule after that. Could that be an option?

It basically makes the lowest seeded team play the highest seeded team in the playoffs.

So if the #3 seeded team defeats the #6 seeded team... the match-ups for next round would be team #1 vs team #4/5 and team #2 vs team #3.

However if the #6 seeded team upsets the #3 seeded team... the match-ups for next round would be team #1 vs team #6 and team #2 vs team #4/5.

I chose late november because it allows teams that stay in contention to wait longer to decide what they want to do. Allows them to get something for vets maybe

I propose that starting next year there be an 8 hour time limit on picks in the rookie draft. If you went over the 8 hour time limit you wouldn't forfeit your draft pick, but those who draft after you could start making their picks ala the Minnesota Vikings Byron Leftwich fiasco that one time.

Not trying to be rude, but the fact that Zoom and his wife took 2 days apiece to make their 2nd round picks really stalled out this draft. I mean, it's been a week since my last pick and my next one is still probably 3 days away at this rate and that's just a tad bit ridiculous in my opinion.

I would say yes to a time limit. 8 hours should be more then enough time

Yeah, she's doing fine. The initial mammogram radiologist classified it with a rating that translated into about a 95% chance of malignancy. So we're feeling EXTREMELY blessed.

I just wanted everybody to know there were some extenuating circumstances, and we weren't just dragging our feet. :)

Also, Griddles, I PM'd you my votes. I didn't know if we were voting that way or in thread.

Just to clear things up... I chose not to have a time limit because I honestly felt that we wouldn't have any issue not getting the draft done before the start of the NFL season. The goal was to have it done within the first week of preseason so you guys could have an opportunity to watch two weeks of preseason games before deciding on a final roster. I sent Aqua a Facebook message and Desides sent him a text message yesterday. I can only do so much as far as this goes. I knew it would take Doc a little while this past weekend because of his wife's biopsy but I didn't want to tell a bunch of people on here that in case he wanted it to remain private.

I think we'll have the draft wrapped up by the end of this weekend. From there I'll give people a week to cut down their roster to the maximum roster. I am going to change the maximum roster from 16 to 19 along with the two IR slots. The starting rosters won't change and you'll get the same amount of IR slots... but with a three round rookie draft each year, we'll need more roster slots otherwise people will just wind up cutting their rookies within the first week or two.

The changes that have been made to the rules will be that there will be playoff re-seeding, the trade deadline will be November 23rd, we will have a budget style waiver system, and the waiver system will run from Gametime to Tuesday. It was pretty unanimous for these decisions but I just split the difference between the middle/late November voters. Once the rosters are imported... all free agents will be waivers so you can submit your claims.

That... should cover everything I think.

We are adding three roster spots? That's a very significant change. I don't think I like that change. It is something that should be discussed at least.

As far as the time limit goes, 8 hours is not enough. Maybe 24 hours. There really isn't any hurry though, the season doesn't start for a month.

Considering most dynasties are at a 25 roster limit, I don't think it's a significant change... from my experience (people I've talked to who have been in them for years) at least.

What is the point of a 3 round draft each year if the roster doesn't grow the first couple years? It may as well just be a keeper league then. I would consider just adding 2 spots but roster spots really need to be added with the addition of 3 rookies each year considering most won't make an impact their first year or two.

I agree with Gik. This is something I brought up with Deseides previously. I was surprised and a little disappointed in the 16 roster limit. I think 25 is the magic number in this format and would whole-heartedly support a format where we add 3 slots per year until we reach 25. You have to think of the long term health of the league and if rookies aren't sticking on teams in dynasty leagues then it kind of defeats the point of the league.

I'd like to build up to 25 eventually but a 16 to 25 change is pretty radical. Not saying it was suggested but ultimately that's where I'd want us to be in a couple years.

I see. This is my first dynasty. That would have affected my Peyton Hillis trade, but I still probably would have made it. I gave up 2 for 1 thinking that I would have to cut someone anyway. 25 still seems like quite a lot though.

Well in the future we'd probably just add another 2 slots each year (my proposed idea) until we get to 25 so it'd take a while.
