Exactly. Im amazed people think Im lying when I tell them I wanted Aaron Rodgers over Smith, Caddy, Ronnie etc.

I wanted Shawne Merriman, so I was way off on that draft. My friend Frank Coyle of draftinsiders.com though, he was a strong advocate that the 49ers should take Rodgers #1 before that draft. He rated him the best overall player in that draft.

Vontae Davis took last off-season off. His lack of performance was a big reason we started 0-7. I think it's prudent to try and press the issue and try to lock him in going into the season. When you have a guy like Marshall you can do that. The difference between the two isn't very much, either way.

As fas as the Ginn draft, I was happy we drafted him for alot of reasons...but I 100% for a fact did not want Brady Quinn, he always had a nice comfortable pocket at ND and still was inaccurate, and inaccuracy is a hard thing to overcome in the NFL.

Back on topic: Its apparent Davis is being warned, get your *** in gear or be ready to play situational football.

That's true, however, me personally, I did not think That VD would be the one losing reps at his position, I do think that every athlete needs to reach a point and decide if their gonna be their best thru work ethics and focus, I did not think Sean would reach that before Vontae, I do think that Vontae learning the hard way may be a bit late, but if he's smart when it comes to his craft, he will take notice, and match that great talent he has, with the same intensity to be the best, then, we all win.

I will wait to concede I was wrong about SS until he shows me he can play better in games than VD, but I've seen some things that he has changed, and that make me think I might of been wrong on his evolution as a player..

The Davis revelation from Hard Knocks was extremely disappointing. What is up with this guy still being an immature baby? His brother seems to have grown up and is really productive. One would think Vontae would have had the same mentality.

He doesn't deserve to start if he comes in out of shape. Seems like he has some deeper issues. Just a shame.

I'll say again that I've seen Vontae play live, and I focused on him basically the entire game, and that kid has top-5 CB talent. He's exceptionally talented. If he's not a Top 5 CB, it's his head.

I think that was basically what DB Coach Lou Anarumo was trying to point out to him in that one clip. He has all the natural ability in the world, but just needs to handle his preparation in a way to match it.

Man, ervybody needs to STFU regarding Vontae...That (hush yo mouth!) is better hungover than anybody we got. He's one of the most menacing players we have (have you seen his interviews). If I was Obama, I'd send him in to destabilize Syria.

Shockingly, Fin D brings up an excellent point. No one remembers VD's family problems over the offseason, me included. I had forgotten all about it up until this point. I don't care who you are, that stuff weighs on you.

I still believe in Vontae quite a bit. He is a top corner in this league when he has his head on straight and last night was a major wake up call.

Why is it shocking for Fin D to bring up an excellent point? He brings up quite a few I think.

    He's aiiaght.......jk

Seriously, I Hate debating that mother grabber, very smart dude imo, he usually makes me submit..however, he tried to tell me that I should allow Chad Johnson to act in his own way, for I should be no one to judge a professional athlete as to how they motivate themselves..I disagreed that what he said to Goodell and what he did at the presser does not have to be in his repertoire to become the best player, or man, you can be.

Well, considering our coach had to check his *** for his self motivating tirade, I think I'll stick to believing that you can reach greatness without opening your mouth at the wrong times and in an inappropriate manner..

    And or his heart.

Tired and disappointed listening to him to spew his excuses to be honest. If he is playing well you can live with the immaturity , somewhat , but on his press segment talking about the show he defaults to stating , there's nothing I can do .... really???? It's all about what you CAN do but aren't doing ... STILL !!

No excuse for him but he is making them anyway , it is obvious he isn't internally motivated enough or disciplined enough , at the current moment to make himself close to what she should be. He thinks working and feeling it is hard is working hard enough and of course it simply isn't. He proved today that he doesn't get it , again.
