    Lets do this..

Hartline out for practice, doing some resistance band work off to the side...Left calf, left sleeve on it.

Hard knocks has found their star..Jared Odrick..he's funny, intelligent, engaging, and a smartass.

Whole practice done on opposite side of the field, so forgive me for not having as much detail on players.

Garrad with first team..7 on 7's

first play..Garrard 25 yard seam pass..inc, dropped ball, don't know who.

2nd team..Tannehill..7 step drop, gets in his setup quickly, 15 yard out to Wallace..Perfect on all counts including ball placement.

Garrard, pump fake right, throws to his checkdown left, Chad, 5 yards.

RT..Drops, shoulder deek left, looks at it, comes back right with a 5 yard crosser.

DG..5 step drop, quick out, 5 yard play on SS

RT.7 step drop, throws the deep sideline post...Overthrown.

DG. 3 step drop, quick slant, Julius Pruitt

RT..7 step drop, throws the deep out, 15 yards to far hash..Perfect..

Just wanna say, especially to BK, I know there were concerns about why Tannehill seems to get drop balls a lot..I can tell you that its coincidence imo..This guy throws a very catchable ball..and once again, those two incompletetions yesterday, were not his fault in any way...There is an arch on every throw..You can catch this guys passes then you don't belong in the league..The point of the football drops when it descends.

DG..7 step drop, hits LN on the deep slant...TD..perfect rhythm.

    PD..Short curl route to Egnew.

MM first team..Check down cross to Bess.7 yards.

PD..hesitates, should of been picked, idk player.

RT..7 step drop, checkdown to Fuller. 7 yards.

    MM..quick slant..complete.

RT..RT rolls right, hits hogan on sideline, escaped pressure took off, on the run completion.7 yards.

DG..10 yards, far hash out pattern...nice throw.

RT..quick slant, 3 step drop, Hogan completion..good placement, in stride.

    MM..rolls right, inc.

    RT..checkdown, complete.

    Horn...1 overthrow by Tannehill.

    Drills.

Kadu, been having some issues in drills, here in this drill he following the ball carrier, hes supposed to take the best angle, carrier has freedom to make a move, as soon as he does, Kadu is stopping his feet.gets balled out by coach.

Bandit is sitting right next to me....I may join their army..goodbye my friends...goodbye..

oh sh&6, hard knocks has found the bandit, and im right in there sight line..me nonos likey..The chant begins, lets go dolphins''...pissass, don't wanna be on the show...Towel on head..

Chris Clemons is back, in pads, and moving well..

all four qb's working on the shovel pass..getting footwork down instead of just doing it half ***, there seems to be a right way, and their learning how.

RT In man coverage drills...first roar of the crowd..RT deep to Marlon Moore on a post, he beat the man, RT with a perfect ball...45 yards.

RT..comes back with another deep fade, complete..RT throws his hands up in celebration..

    Devlin with some nice throws..

RT..Throws deep to LN..35 yard sideline post..complete..crowd cheers.
Three deep passes in a row.

Misi wins a battle with a tight end on a one on one pass rush drill, shows a tug and rip move that was impressive, gets a bum slapper..Misi is for real ya'll..improved play right there.

Reggie bush and Davone Bess are quicker this year, I keep looking at this guy running and he just looks a bit smaller than usual, everytime I get the number I'm suprised its bess.. He's dropped weight, and he's running quicker..better, noticably imo..Reggie speed is flashing everywhere, he's been working on his legs this camp, and his thigh pad level is high and tight.

RT.. throws a skinny post...Legadu was open, but for some reason stopped on his route, inc.

    Garrard to Chad inc.

11 on 11s..missing some plays here.

    DG rollout, comp..7 yards.

DG..a few handoffs, not much gain on this defense.

    DG..drops..sack, not sure who.

PD to Miller on a swing pass.

lot of checkdowns, screens..from all the guys.

RT..feels pressure, breaks the pocket right, hits someone on the sideline.

MM..goes for charlie down the seam, inc.

RT..drops, pressure by Jacques Smith, leaps, deflects.

    VD on a Passs deflection.

RT..to egnew ..inc..they meet, he discusses.

    RT..qb Draw..

Messam showing some nice running during a few reps.

    DG..under pressure, throws away...

RT..shotgun..sack..they let up, allow play to cont.

MM..with a good throw to Chad..

RT..pressure, stood , threw the deep out on the far hash...Perfect to BJ.

    MM..inc, pick screen.

    PD..lamar with a nice run..

Third roar of the crowd..something with Tannehill.didnt get the play..

    another quick out to follow..

Lydon Murths gettin some first team reps.

Vontae, breaks on ball, deflects..can't tell much here.

RT..Throws to Messam after he breaks the pocket, nice play.

    Horn,,drills..

    Kickoff return,Thigpen..Slaton..Miller..

    MM..First team..red zone..fade to the endzone..Richard Marshall says nono...nice play

RT..avoids pressure again, keeps his eyes downfield, good balance while doing so, fires the strike..The dude keeps his mechanics nicely while moving, always ready to fire, that was impressive..

This is what we always wanted..The guy who keeps the eyes downfield when scrambling..The Rothlesberger trait..oh man is he comfortable on the run..

MM quick screen to NL..no gain.

    RT..handoff..no gain

    MM quick slant to LN,,

Vern got hurt..but gets up 10 mins later, and pops on his toes..he was pissed for a secong..That guy has may have some good makeup.

DG..bad pass to rb..to short to see on that play.

DG..Hnadoff to DT...good run in the redzone.

    RT..Rolls right, nothing there, inc.

RT..Rolls left, touch pass, les brown with the drop.

    Carpenter..good.

Imo..this needs to be a serious comp..here's why..he def needs to work with the first team..

The only reason why you would have a vet start in this case, is for the experience, getting your players lined up, knowing the responsibilities of the offense and its components.. well, RT can do this, he's not thinking about what plays he's running at this point, or what his receivers are supposed to do, he knows that sh(8, he knows this offense, he's been in it for 4 years...Thats the definition of a vet..will he make some mistakes, sure..but if were gonna run twice as many plays he's also going to be able to execute that with better accuracy and a movable pocket..

You might say well, but he doesn't know how to read defenses, for which I will say, why not, when you've been in the same offense for 4 years, you know what play to go to depending on what the defense shows you...football is a simple game.

He's exponentially more talented..How bout that.

His size blows the comp away..

    He's way more accurate..super accurate..

    H'es way more mobile.

His arm is better, more velocity.

    He's 24 years old..

He has command of this offense..He's telling everyone what to do y'all, no joke.

    He's very smart

    Players like him

    He's cocky.

This is unprescedented territory for a rookie, in a good way..With the amount of play we could potentially run during a game, don't you want that accuracy and mobility executing the plays these plays with precision...cause he can do that..

I mean, if you wanna give Garrard or Moore their chance to see if we can get off to a fast start, ok,I can dig it, but that leash needs to be short, this kid needs to play ball, this isn't no ordinary rookie qb scenario, so it shouldn't require ordinary procedures.

well that was a fun camp guys, I like our future at the QB, he's very talented, and he seems like he's a good dude as well, someone that the city can identify with, and that makes me feel good, and worth the trip.

Peace..Lets beat the freakin texans, and do something man., shut all these clowns up.

The most important caution regarding Tannehill vs a veteran: speed and complexity of the game

He may know the offense, can read a defense, etc. etc. But can you process what's happening and what you're seeing when everything is moving twice as fast as you're used to? And can you decipher disguised defenses you've never seen before, manned by athletes two levels above anything you've faced?

That's where I would proceed with caution.

Still, great to hear him doing well!

DJ, you have been designated to remain in Sou Fla for the entire training camp and give us your reports every day!!!

If it were up to you, right now today, who would you keep at WR on the 53 man roster? From 1st to 5th or 6th.

Good to hear that Clemons is back out there.

But, aren't defenses in the NFL supposed to be very complicated to read? Isn't that one of the reasons success in college does not translate to the NFL?

BTW deej, have really enjoyed reading the reports especially trying to decipher the intials and vernaculars.

I think adjusting to the speed of the game at the NFL level can be directly correlated with not knowing the offense like the back of your hand..

The man is moving faster than his competition at the position, at least at this point.

I'll obviously w3ait until we have a pre-season game or two in the books to make a definitive statement, but it seems to me that unless Garrard or Moore are simply miles better than Tannehill then Tanny should be the starter.

As long as Tanny continues to improve, and we see good signs against better competition, both in practice and the pre-season, and it doesn't appear like he will get killed behind a poor o-line, then get him out there. No time like the present to start moving to the future.

I get all the arguments for starting Garrard or Moore, but it seems to me that the same reasons for starting those guys, like we have an easy schedule and might be able to win a few games, applies to Tanny as well. Better he get to play the Cardinals, Seahawks, Chiefs, Browns, etc. in his first year than Pittsburgh and Baltimore.

Well, Bokamper think it's gonna be a competition. Bo says he hasn't seen enough from the vets to believe Ryan couldn't make it a competition.

Congemi summed it up well: "He looks like he belongs out there." Says Tannehill is throwing guys open.

damn it, I knew someone was going to ask me that..I would like to wait until games situations before I go on the record..But If four practices is all I can use to judge I would say..

Chad..He's lacking some strength as I suspected, but his quicks and his hands are there..I think he can get close to a thousand yards, and ive seen nothing but positive vibes from him and the team, hes a good player to have around.

Hartline..my patience is wearing thin for some reason on this player, I think it has something to do with his body and how I don't see it getting better, when it absolutely should.

Bess..I think your going to see a better, quicker Bess.

Lagadu/ Pruitt..This is the matchup imo that I need to see in games for sure..Its close Who I wouuld keep..

Jeff Fuller...No way Im letting go of this guy..and he won't last on a practice squad.

Wallace..I keep 6 because Im only gonna keep 3 tight ends.

Moore and Wallace have had a good battle in camp, Moore has been comin on strong, but, its a toss up at this point..

Put the rooks on the practice squad...I believe BJ has had some moments underneath, gettin open..

Awesome read man. Thanks for all the effort!

Sorry to hear that they were on the far field for your last day of practice man... but great to hear about Tannehill. He definitely has all the talent in the world, and his comfort in the offense is very evident. The one thing I would say about starting him real early is... not only does he need to be ready to be the starter of this team, but the team also has to be ready for him to be the starter. And by that I mean, are the players around him good enough and playing at a high enough level to properly develop and support a rookie QB? That other factor shouldn't be overlooked IMO. The WR position alone does scare me a bit in that regard...

Yes, but ckparrot has pointed out a couple times that if the QB is super talented they can get by on talent alone. He specifically pointed out Cam Newton and Flacco (who jumped from division II to the NFL) as college players that relied on pure talent to succeed early on.

I think when you know your offensive scheme, the ability to recognize what kind of look you need to run a play on becomes easier, check into a run or pass depending on the look..now most definately, some teams are brilliant at disguising what their doing, but does taking those lumps outweigh the positives.?

I also think in this style of offense it requires accuracy, and sometimes it won't matter what the hell the opponent is doing, their going to attack regardless sometimes, and THATS when I want this dude handling the football, he can be precise.

The more pure talent you have the easier it is for the coaches to design a playbook around you that makes the decision making aspect of things a little easier. That's my opinion. Sometimes it ends up being true and sometimes it doesn't.

In this case, I'm not sure if it'll work out that way, but an example of one way they could try and make it work out that way would be with the emphasis on the ground game and all the rollouts they plan on executing.

DJ, sure you don't want to hang around camp until Hard Knocks airs? Hell, your reports might be more entertaining than Hard Knocks!

Thank you for the great reads these last four days. I hope you had a great time! Judging from your reports I think you did.

I think people underestimate this. RT should look good at this point for all the reasons mentioned above, but the speed will increase in the preseason games and again in the regular season. And at that point he'll face more blitzes as DCs try to speed things up even more. It helps immeasurably if you can increase the percentage of things you've already seen. And yes you can get by on talent, but you also risk developing poor habits. A good example may be the difference between how a Michael Vick handles pressure vs how an Aaron Rodgers handles pressure. Vick was thrown in there and got by on his talent. And all these years later he still relies more on his talent than on the design of the offense (although he's finally made some improvements in Phi). Rodgers may have been able to do the same, but IMO he is a far better QB today b/c he learned how the offense reacts to those situations rather than just relying on his talent. It's a difference in efficiency.

wow, I want Henne to win that job, Lets put it this way, if we had the 2011 draft all over again, and all the teams had two camp practices to include into their evaluations, Gabbert, Ponder, and Locker wouldn't of been drafted before RT imo.

great time, one thing I haven't talked about is how the dolphins are really going above and beyond, they at least act like the care..

for example..a lot of little kids were there ya know, and its hot, so they had employees hand out those waterfans to all of them..

Just simple greetings are nice..all things dolphins really friendly..done first class...

    No costs..0..

Your firm on that stance or protocol Rafs?, even though there are some not ordinary variables in play here?..

I understand your angle, you want to minimize risk, lessen the odds on failure, ensure the future, is there exceptions in your opinion?

That sounds great! Maybe they are beginning to see how important things like this are. I got the impression over the past few years things like this had been somewhat neglected.
