1.Couldn't they just take a number? 2.Guessing is as valid as assuming. 3.I've heard he's a fan friendly guy at the stadium too, which he doesn't have to be. My hats off to him for that.

Did he put the money he charged towards a charity?, if he did I'll apollogize...So far IMO, he's come into the league not humble, with a sense of entitlement, and I don't have to respect that approach..I'm not eagerly waiting, just think that the attitude will get humbled eventually..they always do.

I don't understand the autograph/memorabilia thing. When I was a kid, absolutely. But as an adult, it's lost on me. Now if I was wearing my Jake Long jersey and he came over and signed it, that'd make my day and the jersey would be even more special to me. But to stand in line -- much less pay -- to get something autographed, I don't get it.

Secondly, like Newton -- Tim Tebow also did a private signing thru an autograph company recently and the charge was $225, and $50 extra if you wanted something bible-related. We know Tim isn't 'about the money', so perhaps Cam doing the same isn't necessarily an awful thing.

Remember, it's not like Johnny Kid Fan is walking up to him for an autograph and he tells him, "that'll be $150 kid." Everybody who comes to these signings knows exactly what they're walking into. :)

I remember the coolest autograph I ever got was from Nikki Sixx about ten years ago. I grew up in the late 80's and listened to a lot of metal/hair bands in high school. He was here during Spring Break at an auto show signing stuff. And it didn't cost anything. We got there early and he signed my Motley Crue 'Shout At The Devil' LP, personalized it, and shook my hand. I asked for a picture and he was happy to do it. I'd much rather have his autograph and several minutes of his time for free, than pay somebody who may or may not be remembered in 30 years to sign something. JMO. :theU:

I agree with everything except the bolded bit. They're all greedy. Every one who charges money for an autograph. Just don't start a thread on Cam when they're all doing it.
