You hear about the times of responsibility and doing the right thing. Did that not exist? I'm just a bitter idealist now I guess. I can't help but think if Penn State called the police immediately and had them take that piece of **** off their lawn and then hold a press conference the next day, they would be celebrated.
Hey JoePa, Rot in Peace. Hopefully the rest of your cult members can done their special sneakers, drink the Kool Aid, and join you. Fools. The only people I feel bad for are the kids on the football team who had no clue. Hopefully they're allowed to transfer without sitting for a year.
wow scathing but well deserved article: http://www.latimes.com/sports/colle...chke-paterno-20120713,0,1802708.column?page=1
Penn ST is like North Korea I see... even more unbelievable... http://www.centredaily.com/2012/07/04/3251112/expert-penn-state-unlikley-to.html
I am screaming at my computer screen. How can the NCAA not punish a program whose Head ****ing Coach covered up child rape from his right hand man!!!!!!!! I seriously hate the world we live in.
Another good, and scathing article on this piece of ****. Where are these mouthbreathers now? Paterno is not a god and he was treated as such. Oh but godforbid we give the kids some money to play a game. Thats a huge no no. **** the NCAA.
this is what I was debating many months back, the thing that made paterno guilty and my eyes and why the "he went to the campus cops" never flew for me: He was very powerful on campus, and probably very powerful in the state. He could have done a hell of a lot more. On another note, you have to wonder how narcissistic paterno could be to still be able to shake this guys hand. How many times do you think he took his grand kids around this monster and introduced them? Was it just rabid denial?
Jesus ****ing christ. I used to be proud that I went to that school. Had some good times. And now thinking about I was inches away from these men many times is a bit unsettling. There were all types of rules around that place, no earrings, facial hair other than mustaches, no visible tatoos like fore arms etc. But ****ing kids is alright. Makes sense. Joe, dude, seriously, what the **** were you thinking?
No, but knowing that these men were capable of this ridiculousness certainly makes me uncomfortable about it. They both need a good kick in the *** to be honest. I hope Sandusky gets to feel what it's like to be on the receiving end of his little hobby. I really do. **** the both of them.
The thing is, it sounds like the administration wanted to do just that, but the "legendary" Joe Paterno talked them out of it. One man having too much power is not a good thing.
I always thought he was just old and out of it. Hard to believe that anymore, after finding out he was negotiating use of PSUs private jet. Can't be that senile if you're negotiating that.
yeah I love that JoePa negotiated a new 'contract' right as the investigation started that would allow him to jet with extra money. what a turd. and being from central PA, many of my high school friends went to PSU, and it's crazy to see some of them still sticking their necks out there for this man. I mean, theyre not necessarily saying he's still innocent but instead complaining about how no one else is catching any blame. Well, they are, they all are, and they all should be punished individually if they let this slide. I do feel bad for JoePa's family if they didn't know, because it'd be tough to publicly criticize your own father/husband/etc, but man, I dont care, if my dad was in paterno's shoes I would not hesitate one minute to say what an awful thing he'd done
Exactly. And nobody cares about Paterno's family. It just isnt the right time nor will it ever be. The man did wrong and protected a rapist and a pedophile. The only shame is he isn't alive right now to face the punishment and criticism he deserves. The Paternos need need not be seen nor heard.
this is your guy holding the ban hammer on you PSU.....
If the powers that be at Penn State were honorable and intelligent (they are neither as we've seen) they'd shutter there own football program for a year or two. That would take the bite out of the NCAA who could (hopefully & justly) give the program the death penalty.
@CBSNews: NCAA source tells CBS News it will announce "unprecedented" penalties against Penn State, football team cbsn.ws/QnwOzy
I agree and hope you're right. I'm calling it now though, Penn St is not getting the death penalty even though they should be shut down for about 5 years. NCAA and Penn St will take away scholarships and bowl bids but wont give death penalty even though this more than warrants it. Seems they're still trying to protect the school which is just ridiculous.
I'm surprised they took it down. I figured they'd just turn it 180 degrees so that it's looking the other way.
Part of NCAA punishments need to be a mandatory muzzle for the entire Paterno family. So sick of them talking...
Yah, I think they need to take a long vacation. Keep your heads down and shut up. Your Father allowed a pedophile to run loose to keep his precious "legacy". I hope the Paterno estate gets gutted by lawsuits.
Seriously. Every time the Paterno family puts out a statement it makes them look more petty, disingenuous and ignorant to what happened. It's sad.
