I see this as a rebuild year so I don't expect to much I think we'll be way better off next year so I'm going to say 4th but I might be giving the Bills to much credit.

Next year we should have an option to vote for a first place finish.

wow alot of you guys are crazy optimistic. i don't think we sniff an above .500 record this year. I mean we gave away our best WR for 2 peanuts and a cashew. Bush had an amazing year but what can 1 RB do?

    I dunno.

My gut tells me last place, but my heart says we could surprise with the schedule. If Garrard is healthy, or Matt Moore stays healthy, it's possible we could reel off 7-9 wins.

So y'all think that Ryan Fiyzpatrick and Sanchez is better that a healthy Garrard or Moore?

I feel pretty good saying we have the best defense in the division..

I think our chances finishing 2 nd are better that the perception is telling us.

I'd be shocked if we finished first. But then again, if you asked this going into the 2008 season I'd have said the same thing.

Eh, a lot depends on Charles Clay and Lamar Miller believe it or not.

They are our two potential playmakers who can pick up the slack for losing BM otherwise we are in the desperate situation of hoping Chad Johnson and Hartline are much better then they have been.

    Egnew is a wildcard

I tend to think of "best units" in the division:

    Offense
    -pats
    -bills
    -Dolphins
    -Jest

    Defense
    -Jest
    -Dolphins
    -Pats
    -Bills

    Specials
    -Dolphins/Jets
    -Pats
    -Bills

This tends to be how things shake out UNLESS our offense is just terrible and our D cannot hold leads..again.

I believe the Dolphins and the Jets will fight to stay out of the cellar in the AFC East. I think the Patriots will once again win the division and the Bills will finish second. The Jets appear to be going downhill but I still believe they have more talent on their roster than the Dolphins at this time.

Therefore I see the Dolphins finishing last in the AFC East with possibly 5 or 6 wins and a pick in the top five of the 2013 draft.

Don't have high expectations, because maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised. I'm happy we're on Hard Knocks so we can say we've had some enjoyment watching the Dolphins in 2012

Worst I'd expect: 7-9. Best: 9-7. I say 7-9 because of the "Easy" schedule, but of course things change rapidly in the NFL. "tough" 49ers could fall back, weak Rams could drastically improve. AFC East should see a boost though, I don't expect any team to finish below 7-9. Could definitely see all teams finishing 7-9 or up with 3 .500 or better.

Patriots clearly the #1 team again. I almost want to put the Bills in 2nd with the Dolphins/Jets battling for 3rd/4th.

Could you rationalize this for me? Us at 9-7 and the Bills at 4-12. I can see us with 6+ wins, but not necessarily 9.

Bills starting Defense will be the following.

DE-Mario Williams (better than any dolphin defensive player)
DT - Marcel Darius (Young very good DT IMO. will be top 5 soon)
DT- Kyle Williams (when healthy top 4 DT in the league..all pro level)
DE- Mark Anderson/Kelsay - over hyped anderson put up high sacks w/ the Patsies last year and Kelsay is old and even bills fans think he sucks most of the time.

LB core is iffy for bills IMO

OLB Nick Barnett seemed to turn his career around.
MLB Kelvin Sheppard young MLB and on the up and up. if he doesn't his a sophomore slump he's above avg
who the hell knows will be their other OLB..lol Moats?HAH

    CB- Stephon Gilmore
    CB- Aaron Williams
both are young and could get burned. Gilmore rookie and Williams won starting job over 1st round bustaroo McKelvin

    Safety
Byrd- all pro level, ball hawk and will see some probowls in his career
George WIlson. from the games i saw and reviewed he was in right place at right time. Ints off of tipped balls or really bad passes.

    now our defense

Bills DLine >>> Miami Dline (who knows how the 4-3 transition will work out)
    Bills LBs -push- Miami LBs
Bills DBs if the young guys show up they could do well. The DBs for Miami will be the strong point. Richard Marshall was #1 caliber in Carolina earlier in his career. Listed currently as nickle in Miami. He is great insurance for Sean Smith.

Overall Bills Defense is better than Miami's IMO

I'd put 100 dollars on that bet right now.
bills will finish over .500. I guarantee it. Hell i'd put $20 on them making playoffs

shiiit...you're obviously still living in the old Ricky WIlliams days. Smoking that cheap crap though. Bills 4-12? HAHAH thats laughable. Miami WILL not even sniff 7 wins.

I'm surprised so many think we're going to finish 4th. Hell we didn't even finish 4th last year and I think we have a better defense and much better coaching this season. Not to mention a softer schedule.

    lost top receiving option.
    new defense
new coaches..doesn't matter if its a 'better coaching staff' ...3-4 players 'fitting' a 4-3 scheme don't always work

Sounds just about right to me! I second what MonstBlitz said... we were looking up in 2008. I believe the D is gonna be great this year, and the O is gonna surprise! I also believe Ocho is going to surprise many people, as well as Wallace. A solid run-game. I see no reason not to be optimistic!

I have Buffalo making a surprise push for the division this year. I see it going something like this.

    11-5 Buffalo
    10-6 Patriots
    8-8 Jets
    4-12 Phins

We are in year one of a rebuild, which will come with some bumps and bruises.

Honestly... I feel like it's going to be 3rd or 4th. I'm trying to keep my expectations a bit lower than normal with this team this year. Our QB position is still very much unsettled and worrisome at this point. I think Tannehill is a future star, but probably not going to have any impact this year. I hope he can, but I just don't see it happening yet. That being said, our D should be good enough to keep us in most games, so as long as we get average QB play from Garrard, I think we'll be ok. I have a hard time seeing us finishing ahead of the Bills though. Their improvements on D, and on O this offseason are going to make them a much improved team. The Jets I think will be tough again, but with Sanchez and Tebow, I see them having a rough year. So I'd say we finish third. Obviously ahead of the Jets or Bills... and I think its more likely that the Jets are in the basement. Speculation of course, but I see that locker room completely imploding with Sanchez and Tebow both there.
