I wonder if Miami will be able to lock up Rashard Lewis and Marcus Camby as well. I really would love to have Camby.

I think he would be a good addition for Miami unless he stands in the way of Camby.

Agreed. I would expect Rashard to take the vet min however with the money he is making from New Orleans' buyout.

IMO Rashard would be preferable above Camby. He's just a better fit for what Riley says he's looking for (all 5 can hurt you on offense). Also didn't Camby already say he wouldn't play for the vet minimum?

Heard rumor that Camby would be coming over in a trade for Joel anthony and a draft pick. Knowing that, the Heat would have some money for him. As far as Rashard, that would be a badass pickup to play the 4 and rotate in with Battier.

I can't think of one. There are certainly better players Miami has faced, but considering how many meaningful games we've had against Boston over the last 5 years, I can't think of a more feared or dreaded opponent during that time.

No doubt he hits big shots and he hits a good amount of shots, he is one of if not the best shooter of all time. that being said the most feared guy is the best players the Heat have faced and a guy who can carry his team single handedly.

I'd say if you guys qualified it with "the most feared guy with under 10 seconds and Doc is drawing up an out of bounds play" then I'd agree. But if you're talking about start to finish game and not just 1-2 shots here and there then we can name a ton more feared NBA players. Hell the most important player on that team when they're making these runs is still Garnett. Garnett is more feared, especially on both ends and thats on his own team. Pierce can be an animal and that pains me to say since I hate his acting and flopping. and currently Rondo is more feared at taking over.

Boston almost beat the Heat in the ECF and Ray played awful. Hell so did Pierce. They had Garnett and Rondo carrying that team and almost took out the Heat.

But you're talking about the last few games. Rondo really hasn't done much until just recently or he had big games in games Miami won anyways. Garnett was also not the guy we talked about as a guy we had no answer for. Allen was the guy we talked about and worried about before our games with Boston. Allen was the guy who made those dagger shots at the meaningful moments. You may not agree as to which guy you would have feared most, but Allen was without a doubt the opponent we fretted about most here over the last five years.

there is no doubt he is a phenomenal player and shooter. And there is no doubt he has hit big shots against Miami, as he has every other team. My point is that without the better players on his team (on both ends) he doesnt get the opportunity for the dagger shot you speak of. My point is without KG, the better player, they lose by 15 in those games even if Ray puts up 25 that night. thats all, and for me the most dangerous player is the most important player on the opposing team.

No one's arguing opportunity, namely how or why Allen was able to take his threes in the first place. You're basically attempting to tell everyone that thoughts and emotions that have actually occurred to them never actually happened, just because you disagree with them.

Where did I do that? Although you do make a point, you are saying he is more dangerous out of emotion not logic so makes sense you would feel that way. The more dangerous player is the best player, but for you its what you emotions say. Hmmm interesting take.

The original statement was that Heat fans feared him the most. It's pretty obvious that that was accurate based on the many here who have echoed exactly that. It's also obvious that you didn't agree they should, but that's irrelevant to the question.

No it is relevant. Someone else can feel the lesser player is more feared just as I can think its silly.

You probably also think that Bosh being the most important player to the flow of the team is silly, but its not. Same basic concept. You don't have to be the best player to be the most feared or important.

Ya that is silly. But back to the topic, its like saying Chalmers is the most feared over LeBron. Its a Skip Bayless type of thought quite honestly. The best player is most feared, not a guy who has hit some very timely (or un-timely for Heat fans) 3s

It's not like that at all actually, but you can continue trolling. The most feared player on a team is one that you generally don't have an answer for and plays at a high level. Most people understand that the best player is going to "get theirs" and try just to limit said player. Where as a guy like Allen who does well what you dont defend well is much more scary as a fan.

Nice try though with thee Bayless thing. Its not just about hitting big shots. Its about what your team defends well vs what a player does well. Only one sounding like Skip here is you....

Zero, Camby cancelled his meeting with Miami today and is heading to NYK Sunday and Brooklyn after that. Houston said they are willing to work a S&T with the Knicks. Morrey isnt very bright so hopefully this is Douglas for Camby and a 1st :)

Let me rephrase this...the previous topic is done, move on. Like others have said this thread is for actual basketball talk.

Hornets and magic work sign and trade for ryan anderson for Gustavo arroyo. Anderson gets 4/36M and hornets renounce kaman and carl Landry

I think he just wanted stability at point guard for now. Nelson was a good candidate for they.

I'm not upset at trading Anderson even though he was excellent last season. It seems they feel we have his replacement. But the return is weird.

I'm pretty glad they didnt keep Anderson at 9M per year. I think he's reached his ceiling, and showed that he can be neutralized pretty easily.

Interesting move for NO. Davis can't play the 5 (not yet) and he isn't quite a 3. I know Anderson will probably play a good amount as the 6th man but there will be moments they have Anderson and Davis on the floor together. Going to be interesting to watch them two as the 3 and 4.

As far as Orlando, after they deal Dwight they're only going to be left with 1 bad contract (Turkeyglue or Richardson) and from there they can start rebuilding. Hopefully they dump Dwight soon because they need to start tanking now so they get a good draft pick next year.

Looks like my Bucks will keep Ilyasova for 4 yrs plus a team option for $45 million or so. Probably to much, but the guy is young and can board and shoot pretty well. I like the deal especially if it means shedding Drew Gooden's ****ty contract for a ****ty swing man contract.

IIRC, the Magic were a good team when Shaq left and Penny turned into Greg Odin's before Odin was in the league.

Well what I mean is in the NBA being mediocre is the worst thing to be. Either being good or being really bad is the way to go. If you're really bad atleast you have a chance at getting a top talent in the lottery. If you're mediocre like they seem poised to be, you miss out on top lottery talent and you're stuck with the big contracts that handcuff a team.

If they go with that Nets trade they are going to be the epitome of mediocre...sadly.
