    Guessing you mean Toronto.

If the Wolves get Batum, I wonder what they end up doing with D. Williams.

Lebron does nothing wrong with the way he leaves Cleveland, and he gets villified.
Howard does everything wrong and no one one *****es.

Batum only going to get $8M less over 4 years. I'd rather pay the $8M extra to have Hibbert (assuming I'm not talking about the Cavs).

nah. nothing to worry about. The Heat is about to sign one of the most lucrative cable TV contracts in the NBA, and they are getting very high end sponsorships with Chinese companies.

The team will be poised to bathe in cash.

Thats just not true, Dwight is coming out of this looking like a turd. I do agree the LeBron criticism was just stupid, but lets not pretend we aren't criticizing D12 right now.

Let's also not pretend that the Howard criticism is anywhere near the levels of LeBron criticism, which rose to actual hate. No one is going to burn Howard's jersey.

In pro athletics, success makes everything right.

This is one of the reasons I do not like the way BSPN has basically turned the NCAA into their *****es.

Who the heck wants Morrow though?

Fail of a post. NY teams sign a ton of big name players. Want me to go down the list?

Trust me there's plenty of pissed Magic fans in this area. We're all tired of his drama b.s. up here. He's made it known for quite a while that he doesn't want to play here.

    This.

In the modern NBA, an elite 2 will help you more than an elite 5.

Not really. The Lakers won a few championships in the last decade by having elite bigs. Height is a formula that has long standing success if its talented enough....Its worked for the old celtics and laker teams, it worked for the rockets, it worked for Shaq's Lakers, and it worked for the Kobe/Gasol/Bynum Lakers. You certainly need other pieces but elite bigs are hardest to find and you cant teach height.

Now whether you think Hibbert is or can become an elite big...thats a different discussion. Im not sure on that either but I cant fault Portland for believing that Hibbert is worth 4/58 when their own player, Batum, is getting offered 4/50 from Minnesota. Given the choice, Im taking Hibbert and hoping he and Aldridge can be dominant on the front line.

While I like Hibbert, I think the era of needing an elite big is passing or passed. Once upon a time it was a requirement, but when one of it's biggest proponents (Riley) says that's not the present NBA, you know it's over. Years ago there's no way Riley wouldn't have at least been looking into acquiring Dwight Howard (over the past two or three years). That would have been his priority. Nowadays it's clear that elite perimeter players provide more impact than premier interior guys.

The era of needing an elite big (or bigs) may be over but it doesnt mean you cant still build a team that way and be successful. The Mavs last year had an elite offensive big and won. The Lakers won for a few years because they had a great combo of inside/outside players like the Heat do now. Theres more then one way to build a team. I dont think having the best frontline is the requirement it used to be, but using that methodology can still work if you find the right parts. Pairing Aldridge with Hibbert is a great way to start a rebuild. Mix in the newly drafted Lilliard and Meyers Leonard and thats a formidable start. The only thing I would argue is that drafting Leonard doesnt make much sense if they knew they were going hard after Hibbert....

I think you need bigs that can space the floor. That was what Dallas did. Hibbert is too easy to negate. And if you pay him so much that you can't afford good perimeter scorers then it ends your rebuild.

Yea, knowing they were going to offer Hibbert the max makes me question the Leonard pick a little bit. If they had him as the best player though, then I can certainly understand the pick.
