I talked about this in the thread, but I don't see what the problem is. As long as he's not getting penalties, who cares if he's being fined? Chad Johnson was a better player when he was being himself. He wasn't being himself last year, and while there were other factors that led to the huge dropoff in production, I do think trying to be someone he isn't could have been part of it.
He will not make it thru camp if the putz keeps up this kind of childish BS. He forgets, nothing he signed is guaranteed. Its not even guaranteed yet he will be on the game day roster or even make it thru camp for that fact. spirited guys that may get a penalty here and there for kicking somebodys assss never bothered me. But having a clown boy who gets penalties for doing theatrics during the game ? No,then he must go.
Nothing wrong with this at all. Guys, this is not Brandon Marshall's crap. This is a guy who can play and loves getting the fans involved.
If he accumulates half a million in fines that means he scores a lot of TD's. Go for it Ocho. just make sure we dont catch the 15 yarder...you can do what you want with your money just dont set the team back 15
Despite the fact that the Dolphins worked him out and several scouts around the league still think he has gas left in the tank, on bad year on the Patriots and he's automatically washed up? The Dolphins worked him out and obviously liked what they saw. He's also getting pretty good reviews from camp. Will he succeed? We'll have to wait and see. But at that contract, there is very little risk involved here. If in fact he is washed up they'll cut him. I don't see why the fact that he's still talking is such an issue though. He's the one who has to pay the fines. And honestly, the reason for most of his fines were pretty ridiculous. His endzone celebrations are the best in NFL history and were entertaining time and time again. If he's not getting flagged, what is the problem?
Yeah he also tweeted "FU" to the arrogant bastards at NFL Satellite Radio. That made Chad my new hero.
Well, WHEN he is in the end zone and gets a fine for something crazy, that's fine. I'll wait to see if we see him in the EZ first... We still have no evidence that this guy still has any gas left in the tank except for his innate ability to trash talk and tweet... This episode doesn't mean a thing now unless we actually see him in the EZ. M&M were right to diss him. He deserved it. He needs to back up his mouth and finger trash with production, something we haven't seen from him for a couple of years... Besides if he hit the EZ 3 times this year, what good is that?? If he's not getting there 1 or 2 times a game...it won't mean a thing for us...
I love it that we have a player that is sticking up for our team and his teammates agains the media. Mike and Mike are two of the biggest phin hating clowns in the media. Greeny is an avid Jets fan so we should really care less about his feelings. Golic couldn't make it with the Phins so he is always showing his ill will towards us. So why not let Chad trash them on twitter?? People need to lighten up, I dont care what the guy does as long as he produces on the field. He is still the best reciever that we have, who do we have better?? I'm glad to see him back to his old ways, I hope he gets fined over and over again all year long as long he as he is getting in the endzone for it. I hope he talks trash, I hope he calls out other teams players, and I hope our other players take notice and get that same mentality. I think our team has been mentally soft for years, I wish we had more players on this team with the "I'm the best, nobody can touch me mentality"
If Chad wants to tell that Jets biased show some bs it won't hurt my feelings I have to hear them smash talk the Dolphins year after year. Matter of fact I'm lovin it.
I don't care what he tweets at Mike and Mike. But the fact of the matter is if the Jets had a player tweeting at Roger Goodell promising to draw all kinds of fines this year, and promising that those fines would be paid for by the Jets management, we would be making fun of their latest 'headache' player and that's just a simple fact.
I don't know about anyone else, but if a Jets player tweeted negatively at or about Mike & Mike, my response would still be the same.
Does Chad realize he only caught 15 passes last year? 15!!!!! STFU and try and make the team... then we'll see about talk.
And again, I have zero care in the world how he tweets at Mike and Mike. I was speaking about his tweet at Roger Goodell.
Sadly this is exactly the case. Signing a veteran minimum contract with some incentives coming off a 15 catch season is not exactly the time to be feeling himself enough to start sending outrageous thumb-your-nose tweets at the NFL's chief disciplinarian.
Chad Johnson has a good heart but that doesn't change the fact that he acts like a child. He's irresponsible and immature and it does cause unwelcome distractions and frustrations from coaches and teammates. But that's pretty much the way he's always going to be. When you sign him, you know that's coming...which is why most teams wouldn't sign him.
Well the Pats thought he had something left and despite being on a team that throws the ball a lot and has one of the best Qbs ever Chad couldn't muster even a mediocre season, I mean he was absolutely terrible last year. Now he's going to come to a team with an open Qb competition and put together a big season? I don't see it and I don't see why we bothered, we must be extremely desperate to even be giving him a shot. His endzone celebrations don't bother me, rather its the lack of endzone celebrations that bother me. There really wasn't any excuse for his play last year he wasn't hurt, he openly admits to not understanding the playbook, its not looking good.
Because I want new players to the team who are coming off bad seasons to act in a classy manner I need an enema?, well if you insist...be gentle.
I don't see why they "shouldnt" want it either. Trolling on twitter has no effect on the on-field stuff, that's all I care about as a fan of the team.
Fans are off base for not wanting the players on the team they cheer for tweeting at the NFL's head of discipline and flaunting how many fines he plans on getting this year? Really? That's absurd?
Yeah, because trolling the commissioner, who literally can do almost anything he wants, couldn't have any possible effect on the field?
I clearly didn't suggest that. I think you guys need enemas because you're making a big deal out of an obvious attempt to get pumped up. Its NOT an attempt to make a prediction. I truly get the feeling everything in your guys' houses is gray or brown. I think I know why the stadium is so quiet, its because you guys are librarians.
How is antagonizing the league commissioner getting anyone pumped up? No, I would say its the other way. Trolling on Twitter = mindless and boring.
