Not sure what to make of this. Hopefully nothing more than tempers flaring. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/06/20/fights-break-out-at-dolphins-minicamp/
LMFAO !!!!!!!!!!!!!! so true. Imagine, NFL players going at each other in training camp. Oh my, what next ? Not getting invited to parties ? I would like to know how you can have OTAs without having contact. Please, somone explain that to me. Read somewhere else that there was not supposed to be contact in OTAs anymore. So, they gonna start wearing sock puppets and let the puppets block each other ?
Wait... Olivier Vernon got in a scuffle with Jake Long? Not exactly the guy I'd look to pick a fight with. I imagine frustration and heat probably played a role, but still...
First thing I thought also. We can carry 10 extra camp bodies and I am sure without pads Baker would do or use any trick to get noticed. LOL, well, he got noticed alright.
love philbins response to the fights “I wasn’t very happy we lost two players in a drill,” Philbin said, via the Palm Beach Post. “That can be a critical time in a game. You have to be able to keep your poise and play. It’s great to be tough, it’s great to be physical. . . . It’s 15 yards, loss of down, clock, all those things. So yeah, there was good competitiveness, but you’ve got to be smart.”
Should Oliver really be picking fights with the biggest and strongest mother****er on the team? He is the training cap constant. No matter how much roster turnover there is, Baker keepson coming back.
Something said about Jake yelling at reshard Jones about touching the qb and Jones flipping the bird too. That probably played into it
I respect him going after the biggest guy out there as opposed to picking on a weakling. So far everything I've heard about Olivier sounds really encouraging.
OMG!!!!! This is unprecedented!!!!! Never in the history of the NFL has a team had members fight each other during training camp!!!!!! Thank the gods of justice and reporting that PFT is there to shine a bright a light on the never before seen dark corners of the NFL and especially the Miami Dolphins. Without them we'd never know of such rare and horrifying events!!!
LOL @ the alleged media conspiracy on this board. Training camp fights are almost always reported for every team in the NFL.
That's true, they are.*however, they are given a line or two (unless the fight was brutal or unique), unlike here where it is treated like a rare occurrence and the league is gonna get involved.
There 2 undeniable facts, that cannot be argued: 1. I did not accuse PFT of a conspiracy. 2. You're short.
There is no agenda to the PFT posting. Its news just like it was news in Detroit and NO. Its news to PFT and Total Access and Sirius NFL Radio. Its news because its June and that is all there is to talk about. And because the league has been reviewing fights at mini camps.
I guess the problem is that per the NFL there is suppposed to be no contact in OTA's...this isnt training camp yet..... However kudos to Oliver, why be scared of Long?? Go git him boy.... Memo to Philbin, dude you are dealing with Incognito, there is no such thing as that...
Never been on a team nor heard of a team that did not have fights during the grinding of long practices. It's as common as sweating and nothing needs to cause concern when they happen. The coaches will mitigate the situation and everything will be fine.
