The only way your coffee from Starbucks is costing you $9.00 is if you buy a Venti (the largest size) premium drink (latte etc.) and add 3-4 shots of espresso to it on top of the 2 that come in the drink...essentially making it undrinkable.

A standard drip coffee at Starbucks costs the same as any other coffee place accept your local gas station but if you are drinking gas station coffee I can't help you.

You live in Portland too right? You could just go to a Burgerville and real food fast if you want that anyway. That's the thing that kills me about the fast food industry. It's been demonstrably proven that it doesn't have to work the way it does, if the consumers just care a little bit. But they don't.

I've got a Firehouse Subs real close, but don't eat there much. It's good for a rare treat I guess. Subs taste pretty good, but always seem kinda soggy to me.

Yeah. If you eat them quickly right there, it's not so bad. Take it home and you've got one sloppy pile of steamed hot mess. I do like all the different kinds of hot sauce they have available.

Quiznos toasts their sandwiches which helps with not being soggy. Then Subway had to start offering that too, to compete. So I always get mine toasted. I hate soggy too.

There is a fast food chain in the Philippines, that after cooking the burger and having it all prepared to eat, they'll stick it in a microwave for like 20-30 seconds. This was apparently a final sterilization process. So you get a soggy bun and scalding hot meat. I told the manager, very politely that this wasn't a good idea, but he said it was corporate policy so for him not to do it, he could lose his job. After that, I just stopped eating their burgers. Though I only went there about once a month anyway.

You cannot stop Father Time, but I truly believe we can slow him down, by our health related lifestyle choices. I cannot get on board with the philosophy some have that when your time is up it's just up and there's nothing you can do about when that time is going to arrive. That's a pre-destiny mindset and I do not believe in it.

Lol. Workers at starbucks hate me. I can't be bothered to remember their nomenclature for sizes, so I always order a small, medium or large. They hate it. "Can I get a medium coffee." "Do you mean a grande?"

"Whatever your medium is." I refuse to buy into the dog and pony show! You mean to tell me, a tall is a small. A grande is not the large, and the large is 20 (yes I know what the 20 stands for).

It's absurd. Starbucks sucks anyway. They call it Charbucks for a reason. For chain coffee shops, Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf is miles ahead. And I'd even rather have Peets. But, a las, Starbucks is everywhere so that's what we settle for.

    Back on topic ...
