Avengers - 4/5 good entertaining action flick...RDJ still amuses

Men In Black 3 - 3/5 slightly entertaining but it wasn't a very original story line.

I didn't get this movie at all. Maybe because I am not a hardcore druggie. Still don;t understand how movies like this get such great reviews.

Prometheus- I was really looking forward to seeing this and it really missed the mark with me. It wasn't horror and it wasn't dramatic, it just felt like a sci-fi film; one that you don't feel connected to the characters and you don't really care what happens, you are just a fly on the wall. I actually fell asleep for 5 minutes in the beginning of the movie, which never happens to me. The last movie I fell asleep to was Oceans 13. I think the problem with the movie was they tried to set up too many characters and it made it boring and took away from having a main antagonist that you care about and root for.

Overall 4/10. Wait to see it when it comes out on DVD, if you miss it all together it wouldn't be a huge deal.

Saw two new movies yesterday.. Prometheus and Seeking a Friend for the End of the World.

I would recommend Prometheus. You don't need to have seen Aliens to get into the movie. The story is a little weak. But the effects are very very good. I would say it's an 8/10.

I would NOT recommend Seeking.... This movie is supposed to be a comedy right? Well, you essentially see all the funny parts in the previews.... and even those weren't that funny. I absolutely love Steve Carell and if it wasn't for him, I wouldn't have been interested in seeing the film. But even he wasn't enough to save this flick. It got to the point where I just wanted to know what happened at the end... didn't care how they got there. And if you wanna know what happens read here:
They all die, quite sad... not even in a funny way..
    3/10

Good news is that we didn't pay to see the second movie... snuck in for the first time since I was 12. Although back then I didn't pay to see the first movie.

Standard popcorn flick. I loved the 3D though, I mean, the detail in which they used 3D for was in self, a spectacle. Then of course wielding an axe to kick *** was..awesome too.

In Time -Great movie premise and great overall storyline in the beginning (it got weaker as the story went on). Timberlake kind of held this movie back a bit; he is an okay actor but there were two scenes I remember laughing at how awful his acting was. The movie had one of those double endings, where the movie concludes and everything is solved and then they keep going and wrap it up another way. This greatly hurt the film in my eyes as it took away from the original ending.

    Overal: 7/10

The Descendants - I thought it was really good, they did a great job of using comic relief throughout the movie to sort of lighten the movie up a bit. That made it much more enjoyable and I surprisingly got quite a few laughs out of the movie. All that being said it was still kind of heavy. Great Movie.

    Overall: 8.5/10

Watched 'The Island of Dr Moreau' last night, with Marlon Brando and Val Kilmer. There are several versions of this movie, and while I thought Mr Brando was great as the mad doctor, the rest of the film was a mess. It could have been so much better, imo.

Rewatched "Sherlock Holmes" before seeing "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows" for the first time. The sequel was louder and dumber than the first one, but still entertaining.

Spiderman....ok so Garfield is way better than Maguire in every aspect. IMO all the actors do a pretty good job. Overall it's an entertaining film. Action sequences were nice but not often enough for me. Spiderman looked how he should look in this version. I would have preferred the pace of the movie quicken slightly but the story did a decent job of unfolding. When it's re-telling the story and I already know it, I felt like it dragged...it's a fine movie and I'm hoping the sequel takes it to another level.

Found another movie that I just couldn't sit through late last night. I attempted to watch 'The Postman' a post-apocalyptic movie with Keven Costner. I got about an hour into it and that was all I could stand. And it still had two more hours to go! I googled for a synopsis and after reading how it ended, I'm glad I shut it off early. Don't waste your time with this one, no matter how bored you are.

Watched 'About Schmidt' with Jack Nicholson tonight. I thought it was pretty good, but I can also kind of relate to it. My mom & stepdad have an RV like they do in the movie, and if my mom passed away, my stepdad would be just about like Schmidt. Except for the part about sending money to UNICEF. If you haven't seen it and have parents approaching their late 60's and retirement, you might like it.

Watched 'Die Another Day' last night, the last of the Pierce Brosnan 007 flicks. I'd have to compare it with 'Batman & Robin' as being the cheesiest of it's respected franchise. Terrible one liners and ridiculous stunts and action scenes.

    Cowboys and Aliens:

great cast, great director.....really didn't care for it. This is probably the worst I have ever seen Harrison Ford. Not recommended.

    The Dictator:

I would recommend it. It was funny and an actual movie with a story.

    The Descendants:

    Outstanding. Highly recommended.

Bourne Legacy is worth watching. I have never been a fan of the Bourne series but I thought this was better. I thought it did a good job following on from the Jason Bourne story. I've always liked Jeremy Renner because of Hurt Locker. Edward Norton is always good. Good action scenes with a good plot except maybe at the start it was a little slow but it had good pace after the initial stuff.

Just watched The Amazing Spiderman. I have to say...I never got into the Spiderman concept and wasn't a huge fan of the previous movies. However the storytelling in this one was pretty superb. Now if only I could take away a few of the cheesy attempts at humor and the awkwardness that is Peter Parker dealing with women.

Seriously though, I enjoyed it a lot more than Dark Knight Rises.

I know it's part of the whole Spiderman thing, but it was way over done. Like when you sense someone is trying way to hard.
