    Hello from over the pond!

Myself and 2 other friends are heading over to Miami this October - staying on South Beach.

We're intending to head to the game vs the Rams on October 14th but wanted to take in the day in the best way possible... That's where you guys come in!

How we should plan our day? What should we do before the game? Are there any bars around/in the stadium?

We are complete Dolphin virgins so any advice would be appreciated.

P.S. if anyone wants to meet up for a few beers let me know - it'd be cool to hang out with some fans and get the lo-down on the team.

    Cheers all.

I used to live and work in Orlando smack dab in the middle of tourist central, so let me give you the most important piece of advice that I have learned through experience....wear sunblock. I don't care that its October, wear sunblock. Don't be like the typical English tourist and turn an unholy and painful color of pinkish purple. Don't worry about tanning, just wear sunblock.

Do some tailgating before the game because the location of the stadium is not in Miami and has nothing in terms of dolphin fan friendly bars in the close proximity..I believe that ram game will be at 1 o'clock, so plan on arriving at the stadium around 11 to get your drink on, after the game, just head to south beach and have some fun.

Plenty to eat and drink outside and inside the stadium. I strongly suggest perusing thru the parking lot for tailgating. Been to a lot of stadiums but have to say, we have one of the best tailgate setups around. Kinda tight pack but its great. Its a blast. Enjoy.

I'm excited to say there's a good chance I'll also be flying in to attend my first Dolphins home game on Oct 14th. I'm a speaker at a Divorce Conference in Miami that weekend so plan to head to the game!

I'd love to meet the Brits, and any board-brothers.

My current plan is to get a Ford sideline/field pass, and I'm not sure which section to get tickets in. Torn between being near the Dolphins bench and actually being able to see the field.

First, you have to realize that it's not like Europe, so you won't be able to take a train to the stadium from South Beach. The stadium itself sits in a big asphalt wasteland and there surrounded by a residential area.

Just to make the question easier, do you have any cultural / sightseeing interests or do you just want to bar/club hop and sit on the beach?

Stay away from bath salts and if someone is swinging from a lightpost or tree looking crazy, it's because they would love to eat your face.

    Thanks mate.

Yeah I was half thinking of the tail-gaiting option. I lived in North Dakota for 6 months (long story!) and did this on a few occassions at college sports games.

Do it mate. It's always good to meet others on your travels!

Yeah I know public transport isn't the same there. I'm not sure what our plan for getting there is as of yet. One of us might drive.

To be honest, we're quite open to what we do, whether it's see any of the local interests, or hit some friendly bars etc.. Any recomendations or suggestions? Remember, we know nothing about the area or what there is to do!

I'll be disappointed if I don't see at least 2 zombies while I'm there!

have sex with a dolphin. Pretty sure you can secure some private time with the dolphins at sea world.

After South Beach, there's still plenty.

You may want to visit Jungle Island. I've never been there, but I remember when it was Parrot Jungle in a different location at a much smaller scale. They had cute things like parrots riding bicycles and now, there's much more.

Vizcaya is the Miami's most well-known historical landmark. It was the former estate of James Deering and it has very beautiful gardens.

The Historical Museum of Southern Florida is very interesting.

Do you remember the building in Miami Vice with a palm tree in the middle up about twenty floors? It's on Brickell Avenue in downtown Miami. The bridge over the river that leads to Brickell Avenue is interesting with a statue group of a Tequesta warrior and family.

Little Havana is interesting for Latin culture.

The Art and Design Village is where you may find artists who used to live in South Beach before they got priced out. If you don't easily feel intimidated, you could also visit Little Haiti a little farther north. Just don't venture west of Little Haiti where it gets dicier.

Coconut Grove is also good for bars and shops. The Barnacle is an interesting piece of architecture.

I'm not sure if it's open on Sundays, so you should check, but on your way to and from the game, you could visit the Spanish Monastery, which is an actual 12-century monastery originally from Spain that was deconstructed, shipped over in boxes and then reconstructed. It's the oldest building in the US. Of course, being from Europe, you've probably seen your share of old monasteries.

The Miami Seaquarium has a new experience in which you where a special suit and walk through the tanks among sea life. it's supposed to be one of the top new marine-related attractions in the world.

My favorite beach is Crandon Park on Key Biscayne. It's more natural and the sand is finer than on South Beach.

There's also airboat riding in the Everglades and you can visit the Miccosukee village and watch one of them wrestle an alligator.

If you have time, you could visit the Keys and go scuba diving. Then, Key West is a whole other world onto itself, detached from the rest of the planet. It has really beautiful gingerbread houses and the atmosphere is super carefree.

I keep thinking that I'm overlooking something really big, but I can't think of what it is.
