Well the time has come to play lets make a deal. Jackson is rumored on the block and we were one of the teams supposedly interested. Send JT to California to a contender and give us a young wideout in his prime...works for all paties. Whattya think?
San Diego doesn't need an Outside Linebacker and if you were going to trade for a San Diego receiver, and they're thin at the position, why not try to reaquire Chris Chambers? The Dolphins still do not have a #1 receiver.
My Idea: JT to the Bucs for Clayton and a pick Clayton and a 4th that becomes a 3rd if JT gets 9 sacks
Not likely, doesn't work for them, or us for that matter. Not well thought out IMHO. Try again though, please, good thread idea, where else and for who?
OK Mods, we need a "JT for ___" Thread, sticky it and let everybody have a go, otherwise we're in for about 400 "JT for ___" threads. Not complaining, just an idea. As for Bucs and Clayton, don't see it, Bucs don't need JT. And they're not much of a contender IMHO, JT is demanding he go to a contender is he not?
Why should it matter who he's traded to? Just get the pick and move on. NE is not going to give up a 1st rounder and truth be told, they may not even be willing to give up a 3rd after drafting Meyo and Crable. Teams know that JT wants to pursue a hollywood career, add to that the fact that he's in his mid 30's, has a huge contract and helped turn his teammates against Cam, no team is going to give up much of anything. The time to trade him was before the draft and unfortunately that window is now closed.
You may be right on the compensation but do you want to face a guy that probably has 2 years left in him and could still camp out in your own backfield? I am not a fan of trading to division rivals for that reason listed above. The guy can still be productive and I feel that if he is traded to a contender like NE, it will light a fire under his arse and it will make him give 110% to make it to the promise land that he desires.
Again, why should it matter? JT obviously doesn't want to be here and NE is a team that will take chances on adding big talent to their roster. Who cares if they are a rival? It's not like we are in a position to compete with them at the moment. I'm a fan of the Dolphins not the individual players, I would rather trade JT to the Pats and see the Dolphins get a draft pick for the future than see Taylor rot on our team or retire.
Frankly I don't care if we have to face him or not, he can succeed in Oakland just as much as he can in NE. Either way, we have a draft pick and we can move on. I couldn't care less if he was motivated by facing us, let him. I just don't want selfish players on this team, let him pout somewhere else. JMO though
We may not be able to compete with them at the moment but I still rather not have a team that is already loaded with players add another guy, one of ours, and harass our QB. I believe we can get that draft pick by sending him to Green Bay. Green Bay was interested in him this off season when they knew they wouldn't keep Jenkins. Jenkins eventually ended up in Cleveland. Why not send Jason there? I feel Green Bay is a contender despite the QB change.
Alen I saw you posted something about Charles Grant indicted for manslaughter. If the NFL comes down on him, I dont think a JT to New Orleans for a third rounder would be all that far fetched. They are a contending team that needs defensive help.
True, they did sign Bobby McCray from the Jaguars this offseason so maybe they have confidnce in him. I think they overpayed McCray. You may be right though. They need defensive help and if Grant is screwed, they could very well go after JT. Good call.
No prob bro...its just going somewhere I didnt mean it to. The New England stuff is nonsense and a waste of posts. He wont be traded within the division boys..take that to the bank.
I disagree. I thought L2G made a valid argument even though we did disagree. No such thing as waste of post unless its spam. .
Really? Not well thought out? C'mon. It was just posted this week we were one of a half dozen teams interested in Vincent Jackson and they want a 2nd. They intend to have Chambers and Craig Davis Start (last yrs 1st rd pick). With those two, Gates, LT and Malcolm Floyd theyre set. Jackson is expendable...So that much is though out. If you dont think theyd like to add JT to their mix with Merriman and Phillips wether its be as a situational pass rusher or whatever youre nuts. Those guys chasing Brady around in the AFC Championship game...cmon. They could throw him in there over Olshansky or Castillo on 3rd downs..those two dont get many sacks...he'd definitely upgrade their D for a wideout they no longer need. JT gets to go to A) a contender B)A team in his beloved California La la land. We in turn get a young fast Big (Parcells type) Receiver. Now whaddya say?
Really? ( Not in a smart-*** like manner, I am surprised) Last I heard they were very happy with his development and hope that he can eventually develop as their #1 once Chambers is gone.
I thought you were serious when you made the other post. Its so hard to tell sarcasm over the computer that it gets annoying lol.
Just read it this week...I was surprised myself. But the nice thing was we were one of five teams mentioned! Everybody was pretty against giving up a 2nd so Im thinking JT is perfect compensation. Win/Win
Ooo, nice read than bro! Yeah I am somewhat shocked at that news. I still don't know if we trade JT there but it may happen. It has all the factors that JT wants like you stated in the post earlier.
It does accomodate JT well...maybe too well. If Parcells is pissed enough maybe he doesnt send him there.
Not Clayton. If we send him the Bucs, insist on Maurice Stovall. I would take Stovall and a fourth for JT not questions asked. If its Clayton, it needs to be coupled with a second. I think its more likely though that we send him to Cleveland. They are poised to win this year. I think we could get a second and maybe a fifth from them.
Not necessarily. Teams (like Cleveland) can see from the Giants SB win that pressure on the QB wins championships. To be able to get steady pressure and probably 9-11 sacks that right now isn't on the roster is worth probably two more wins and who knows what its worth in the playoffs. The Browns jump out at you...but other teams could be in the mix as well. But it has to be a team already on the cusp. Can't be the Raiders or the Rams or Cardinals. Cleveland, GB, Jax (still maybe)...
