My preference would be to phase him in similar to what Walsh did with Montana. During the week he would script a 10 play series that was expected to work against that week's opponent. Montana would practice that series and then if the opportunity presented itself, Montana would be inserted to run that one series. The purpose seemed to be designed to put Montana in situations likely to succeed so that both Montana and the team learned to expect success whenever Montana came in. Tannehill could be used early on in wildcat type plays and designed rollouts which are simple reads for a young QB.
