If you can pass on a "1st round grade" player at pick #42, then again at pick #72, and then at pick #73 you pass on that "1st round grade" once again, choosing to trade down to #78 where you pass on him yet again, and all the while you are described as having "stayed true to your board"...then the term "staying true to your board" has absolutely no meaning whatsoever. None. Zero. It's just hot air and wind.

I think what really intrigues Miami about Lamar Miller is him running in this zone scheme. Zone schemes create a lot of spacing and situations where defensive players have to very athletic and catch a guy in the open field. Lamar Miller was a guy that hit homeruns by making a cut and then hitting the speed button to go the distance. I watch Cyrus Gray and Christine Michael play in Texas A&M's offense, and all I can think is, man...I wonder what Lamar Miller would do in this offense.

If you isolate just zone plays run by Miller I bet you'd find that his YPC was much higher than his total YPC.

I thought that getting Miller was the best pick the Dolphins made in the entire draft. In fact it would not surprise me in the least if he doesn't end up having the best NFL career of all the players the Dolphins drafted in the 2012 draft.

I thought the overall Dolphin draft was very mediocre, but getting Miller in the fourth round could be the steal of the entire draft if Miller can stay healthy.

Stephen Davis, while also picked in the early 4th round, was a 230+ lb. back not known for speed or quickness throughout his pro career. He was a track star in high school but stacked on a ton of weight and actually started off as a FB ! He later became a workhorse as a HB, ofcourse.
Miller's size and skillset are similar to portis or mcgahee IMO. But closer to Cadillac or even Brown than Davis.

Blocking is my one worry with him, he has the size but I wonder if the shoulder will make him gun shy.

I'd love to land a Portis/McGahee (or even Dorsett) in rd #4.

He was 230 lbs even, after being in the league a few years. His combine 40 time, as I recall, was very good. Something around 4.4. He started as a FB only because the Skins had Terry Allen as their starting RB. By Brown, do you mean Ronnie? I see no similarities there at all.
Miller is much faster than McGahee and not as powerful. Willis was great at yards after contact. He was never the breakaway threat that Miller is.

    Somehow, I am not surprised.

Was that because of his actual value, or his perceived value to the dolphins due to our needs?

Would you have drafted him in the second as another team?

the guy was simply a steal & we'll be seeing a lot of him from his rookie year on ... he's just too good to sit  Lamar Miller will be an immediate contributor in 2012.
