    Great to hear :pity:.

Wish he would have requested this publicly prior to draft day. I believe he requested a trade before but did not demand it and said it behind closed doors. Way to screw us out of a couple draft picks JT, now we may only get one.

I remember rumors on draft day about getting a 2nd and a 4th for him from Tampa, but obviously that fell through. I would have jumped on that in a heart beat.

My fear is that with the ensuing of this drama, a well beloved player from the dolphins will become a despised one. I would hate to see that happen, but it seems like the most logical progression in this situation.

I just wish he demanded a trade prior to the draft publicly and we got rid of him before this could happen. Oh well, whats done is done and hopefully the new administration can figure out a way to unload him without this lasting the entire offseason.

Yeah thats exactly what I was saying in my earlier post. I wish he would have stated this publicly and at an earlier time because the situation was good being it was right around the draft. We could have gotten a couple picks like you stated, a 2nd and 4th. The only thing is now is that if he be becomes too big of a head case, it will no doubtly drop his value for us. Lets say he forces his way out. The value could be around a fourth rounder where it would have been that fourth and extra change only a month ago. Thats my biggest fear.

Don't even get rid of him just let him hold out all season we won't be getting anything good for him or equal value. Let him spend the season in Hollywood dancing and watching football. I was one who wanted to keep him now I feel stupid for wanting to bring him back.

Honestly, I don't see his value dropping due to the outburst or because he is a "headcase". But I do see his value dropping due to other circumstances. The fact that we are being forced into this decision and other teams know this will lower the offering price straight off the bat.

When a team knows we have to trade him they will be less likely to give up more. At this point Ill be happy if we get anything of value for him. A 3rd rounder would be great.

I rather get rid of him than keep him. Eventually he could end up being a growing pain in the *** over the course of the season. i rather take a fourth rounder for example than have him sit there for nothing. That fourth rounder could end up being a steal in next years draft. If he sits the season and we get him to come back next year, his value could be lower because of his age factor.

A draft pick for him would be better than having him sit there and do nothing for us or just retire on us.

Well, I'd like to be upset with JT, but...

This isn't the first time he's said this. He said it a while back, behind closed doors, and not to the media. He didn't say it on his blog, he didn't say it to the world, he told his agent and his bosses and let it be.

If anyone is to blame in this scenario, it's the Dolphins front office. How many more years and legends are we going to have to treat like **** before we finally do the right thing?

For years Jason and Zach were told, "hey, we're almost there. If we had just a bit more space under the cap, and just a couple more players we'll be in the SB. I promise!". How many years were we fed the same line? How many times have we heard as fans "no, we're not rebuilding, we feel we're playoff ready"?

So now we've got a DPOY, a Pro-Bowler who has played 12 years for this team who quietly and respectfully asks for a trade in the offseason and doesn't make a stink about it to the public, airing it like so much dirty laundry a la Terell Owens, Randy Moss or Ocho Cinco, and we're attacking him? We're blaming him? This is all his fault?

Here we are, in what is certainly and obviously a rebuilding scenario. It will take at minimum 3 years for us to be playoff bound and capable. JT doesn't have that kind of time left in his career, and he wants to win.

I want one of you, any of you to tell me that we should have to see JT gut it out and retire from football the same way Dan Marino did. I want you to tell me that in a world where Manny Wright won a SB ring we should be angry and upset that JT wants his chance too, especially after all he's given us and we've given him.

If anything we should be glad to see him traded and go to a team that has a chance to compete for a SB, because when he goes into the hall he's going in as a Dolphin.

I refuse to stand by any front office that will do to JT the same thing JJ did to Marino. I've seen one of my childhood heros forced out of the game by the Dolphins front office, and I will not stand idly by while JT is slandered for being a great player for us all of these years.

I think one of the big problems in dealing JT will be with his salary. Not sure how much he is supposed to make this year, but I believe it is a fairly significant amount. I say trade him for hopefully a third round pick or better to a contender. He was a good player in the past for us, but I think he will be nothing but a distraction to the chemistry this regime is creating and a thumbsucker to boot.

I guess all that dancing went to his head? You could have left the Phins as one of the most liked players ever, but now you are lower than Welker and Seau in my eyes. Good riddance JT.....I am putting my JT jerseys up for sale on Ebay.

I don't see this as the front office forcing him out, a la Marino. They tried to trade him prior to the draft, but couldn't get a trade they liked. The are not forcing him out, or asking him to take a reduced salary, or anything like that. He is under contract, and simply wants to go somewhere else, which is fine, but the fo is not going to give him away for nothing.
I see this more like Ricky deciding to go travel and toke on the eve of training camp than what happened to Dan. He is choosing to be somewhere else other than football right now, and it's not the team's fault. They attempted to accomodate him, but it didn't work, so don't be a baby JT. Play or don't get paid, but shut up and act like a man. I don't see BP in the media complaining about it. You know he doesn't like it but he's not acting like a jerk in the media, I don't even remember a single quote by Bill talking about it.

I don't like what's going on here, I liked JT and wish we could have traded him so he could play for a ring, and we could continue building for the future, but it didn't work out that way. Now he is screwing himself and the team by his antics. Have a nice life, and good riddance. Trade him to the Cardinals or the Raiders!

He dances his way to Hollywood and now (after the Draft) he demands a trade and holds out, that's not professional!

Let's trade him for Chad Johnson!

Is it a "coincidence" that this story broke the day after his Dancing contest was finished? JT wanted to get those Fin fan votes before he told them he didnt want to play there any more.

JT or no JT, it wont make a big difference this upcoming season. I just wished we could have got something in return for him. The draft day Tampa rumors would have been a nice deal

i agee with you so much. i remember the days of jake scott, jack lambert, dick butkis. hell they played because they loved the game, screw the money. that was just icing on the cake. ever since this free agent crap came about the game has gone downhill. even with the damn rookies holding out before they've ever played a down. ie jamar fletcher or john avery. there was some wasted picks and money. they should have a set rate that a rookie should get when he comes into the league, when he proves himself then he should get the money.

    Me too man.

As usual..... this organization managed to screw up a personnel move yet again.
Dosen't seem to matter who's running the ship anymore, we just continue to screw things up that the top organizations get done. We should have gotten a deal done to move this guy before all this drama came out. Hopefully all this dosen't hurt our chances in moving him and his value to us in a return for a trade.

I have to go back and give some serious props to.... I think it was KB and Desides who were carrying the JT is a cancer to this team flag since early last season. Many doubted them as I did and some ripped them a new one for even posting it. They were clearly right on the money.

Dancing with the stars > Miami Dolphins football.

What do you guys think his motivation is? Is it really that he's just to at odds with Parcels? Think he wants to be traded to a contender? That one is unlikely given the situation, can't see the Dolphins organization doing him any favors at this point. I'd thought for a moment that the ware and tare could just be getting to him, but as far as thats concerned there are few places better to play then in Miami.

I'd ship him to the coldest place possible if I were Parcels. It would seem appropriate since his relationship with the Fins has obviously grown frigid.

    1. I've defended JT in the past, but I've never advocated that we have some sort of duty to trade him to a contender. I've never understood that kind of logic.

    2. He signed a contract. A very handsome contract worth $7.5 + $8 million left on it. If he wants to hold out, let him do it or let him walk away from all that cash. I see no reason to trade the guy for less than he's worth...and I trust BP and Ireland know what his value should be.

    3. I think I don't like this guy anymore. Seriously. I mean, I get that he wants to pursue a post-football career, but do it when you're done playing.

    4. Screw him anyway. Everybody knows he's got one foot out the door. He's played his last game as a Dolphin.

I agree with most of this, but on the flip side, I also agree with others about what the hell he's thinking by doing this now. The front office actively tried to trade him, even lowering their asking price to a single 2nd rounder.......but no takers. So the whole "He'll play in Miami or Retire" crap was just that, crap. They tried to move him like he wanted, but obviously, no one wanted him that bad. So he's basically stuck here, under a fairly lucrative contract. I seriously doubt he gets more money playing elsewhere now.

It's no secret I'm a JT supporter, but I question his smarts right now.

We have that show over here and any sports ppl that participate on it are all retired. Seeing JT on that show started the alarm bells ringing with me as soon as i heard he was on it. I didnt like it then and boy has "hollywood" Taylor proved me right. Hes payed to be a football player. END OF. If he doesnt want to be a Dolphin then he should have made that clear and helped the team make decisions regarding which way to go. He should concentrate on what he does best and not what he THINKS he can do.

Well, it's obvious it's not about the money. He wants to win. We know that the only reason he came back after the Saban debacle was because he was flat out told that there would be no rebuilding - that we had a chance to win. 1-15 and an obvious rebuilding situation later and he wants to be traded to a team that has a chance.

I would have taken a trade that sent him to Tampa or Jacksonville while we picked up Red Bryant. Instead we end up with a messy, messy situation.

I know this is from a Jets fan's point of view, but you're better off without him. He's what? 34 years old? By the time the Dolphins are competiting again (and please lets be serious) he will be 36, maybe 37 years of age. By then, who cares if he is "in the best shape of his life" because there is being in great shape and there is being in great FOOTBALL shape. I don't know how you Fin fans feel about it, but when a guy says he cares more about his acting career (which is nothing) than his Football career, that scares me.

Here's hoping Miami deals him to Arizona so he can rot in the desert.

P.S. Regan, I don't think Miami will deal another player to New England after how well Wes Welker turned out. Just my opinion.
