That's because of all the exploits and youtube videos showing money plays with motions that get you min. 7 yards every time, nano blitzes, rocket catches, you name it. This formation > This hot route > This motion > Read 1 / Read 2 > 10 yards everytime. It is ridiculous, but with the depth of plays available and the sheer and endless variations in offense vs. defense, there will always be both offensive and defensive exploits. Don't think you can avoid that. It seems the better players these days are the ones that buy these online guides and learn how to run a fool proof offense/defense as opposed to actually thinking and adjusting to what their opponent is doing.
and thats what i cant stand playing online. i like coming in with a gameplan to attack the running game to take advantage of play action passing. check downs, crossing routes etc. (like the real nfl).....anyone who runs a pinch blitz and stack the center so they can nano blitz everytime and sack the qb is taking advantage of, like you said, exploits to win a game rather than actually being a better PLAYER than your opponent. There is already so many ways that can change the outcome of a game that madden installs in their software, fumbles, penalties, injuries etc....you dont need a 8 year old that has cheeto fingers nano blitzing all day thinking hes a madden champ. and honestly, hows that even enjoyable?
Damn it, I knew that was going be a Newton picture but I had to click anyway. Yeah, I get frustrated playing online because it's a roll of the dice whether you get a "straight" game that resembles football or have to completely play in one way in an attempt to counter their exploits. Much rather lose to a good player in what resembles football than win in something that doesn't come close to being realistic. I think I'd take the Jags again because... Spoiler Just kidding, **** that.
Think I'll take Garrard and Tribow over Gabbert and Henne. Stinks it'll be a little while before 13 comes out.
Little surprised to see nobody is talking about this with all the recent E3 news on Madden 13 about connected careers, and physics being added to the gameplay!
Between trying to use Feeleys crappy Vision Cone or the fact that digital McIntosh could not block worth a damn(just like in real life!), I still wonder how I managed to win games with Miami.
I'm not sure. My favorite was 08 I thought (Vick on the cover), but it was the 1st year (and maybe only) with playmaker controls. Changing routes midplay if something broke down was a huge blessing.
Yup that's the one. Last one for the PC (where I played it) and the best version IMO. Singleback Counter for the win.
Hi everyone, just stopping by to take my annual dump in the Madden thread. Finally had the willpower to avoid this terrible franchise in 2012 and I couldn't be happier. I can finally say I've actually quit Madden and will never be back.
http://kotaku.com/5918199/what-exac...eer-mode-giving-youand-what-is-it-taking-away Article on connected careers. It seems that playing online with friends just got about 50 times more cool.
Sure wish I had skipped 12. Worst video game I have ever purchased..and it was only escalated when I contacted EA and their snide a-hole engineers told me I shouldn't buy their product anymore. Certainly won't buy anymore Madden.......maybe.......
The first comment is complaining about them not improving 2v2 and 3v3. I guess you cannot please everyone but IMO the 2v2 and 3v3 modes were lame.
Except for the fact that you can't edit players in CC, or take an edited roster, or any roster that isnt EA official for that matter into CC. The entire sports gaming/madden community begged for full control of player editing in franchise for years, they finally included it last year, only take take it away this year with this new mode. As a usualy offline franchise player... the whole CC thing to me seems pretty pointless. It's done more harm than good I think. As an online player, I can see people enjoying it though. That's just not me.
Yea, I'm a pretty much offline franchise player I'm not sure what to think. While I rarely edited rosters, I always liked bringing in draft classes from NCAA, which you can no longer do.
Does a fairly inaccurate draft class import (from a talent standpoint) really make or break your franchise enjoyment? I think these things will be included in 2014 but when you tear things apart and build from ground up... Gotta make some sacrifices early on.
It might. :P It depends on how the final product is from a single player perspective (and I don't mean controlling a single NFL player, which I have little interest in).
I am mostly an offline player and I have never edited the entire franchise. Plus they did say they will probably include it next year. They added AI trades and they have added ratings based on the teams needs. That alone excites me as an offline player.
And here I thought we would be Connected Career buddies... Taking over the league at WR. Way to ruin the dream.
This is probably the first year in a long time I have ever been excited for a Madden game. For me a lot depends on how me and my friends can play Online Franchise
I'm not. I want to be, but every single time I bought Madden, there was always something that was done during the game that just frustrated the crap out of me. So, right now, I'm guardedly optimistic.
