great draft new, experienced coaching cadre & game philosophy practical purposeful free agency a solid roster to shape into a competitive force would not surprise me to see a post season this year 22010 will be all about coaching am looking forward to an exciting season there is finally hope in 2012 for Dolfandom
Sort of, he stopped using it last yr and only recently has begun using it again. 23rd puts a lot of creative time into his posts when he is feeling optimistic, no one else does so that I've noticed.
That is not his thing, and we have plenty of posters whose style is to deeply study and analyze player moves as it is, so if he leans towards the creative and offbeat, it enriches the forum for me at least.
I don't think he's bad so much as overly optimistic. And sometimes he says stuff that is WAY off topic and makes no sense. His posts make me smile though.
Can you see the author of a thread before you click on it? Yes? Then proceed to not click on it, or put him on ignore. No one wants to hear your personal insults.
i got plenty of hope for the dolphins but it really starts after the 2012 draft see what philbin and co does with 2 drafts i think we go 9-7 at best 4-12 at worst
WTF with the insults? So, he's optimistic. BFD! It's just as justifiable to call some posters here cynical douche bags.
to be fair, for as 'little' as you say he's added to this thread, you have brought nothing but insults. It's a message board, everyone is free to speak their minds. This includes you, and you have every right to post your opinion, so long as you obey TOS. That and I for the life of me can't think of ANY other post you've ever made, besides these 3. 23rd is memorable at least, and when opening a thread with his name on it, I know what I'm going to find, and I'm okay with that. Haters gonna hate, but you really shouldn't get so worked up over internet message board posts.. much bigger fish to fry in this life dude. EDIT: and ON TOPIC, sorry 23rd but I don't agree that we'll make the playoffs this year, though i appreciate the enthusiasm!
Funny, I can say the same thing about some of your posts. 23rd is overly optimistic, you're on the other side of the spectrum. Your negativity pervades every post and I can't remember you ever saying a single thing of value in this forum. You could do us a favor and stop posting
The excitement of the draft always leads many in the fan base to believe that their team has solved the issues which led to an unsuccessful season the previous year. While I think the Dolphins did a decent job in this draft. I still see the Dolphins behind the Patriots and Jets in overall talent and I think with what the Bills did in free agency and in this draft, it will be very difficult for the Dolphins to beat the Bills out for third place in the AFC East. I believe the Dolphins are still another draft and free agency period away from being a contender in the AFC East and it would not surprise me in the least if the Dolphins finish 5-11 or 6-10 in 2012 and once again have a top ten draft pick in 2013. While I am certainly willing to give Tannehill the benefit of the doubt. I still wouldn't mind seeing the Dolphins do whatever is necessary next year to move up and draft Barkley in next years draft. Tannehill and Barkley could always compete for the starting job and the loser could always be traded at a later date
the idea of giving up on Tannehill and drafting Barkley is just ludicrous IMO. If we have a top 10 pick, then next year is the time to invest in the stud WR to help Tannehill out. great franchises make the best decisions, and it always revolves around believing in your system and continuity. they don't make kneejerk reactions like the fanbase.
Exactly where did I say anything about giving up on Tannehill. I said let them compete and see which one wins the job. The Redskins drafted RG3 and turned around and drafted Cousins later in the draft. Obviously they didn't feel that drafting another QB, which some so called experts liked better than Tannehill, was ludicrous. I just happen to think that Barkley will be a franchise QB in the NFL and Tannehill will be merely be an adequate starter at best. Hopefully since Tannehill is now projected as the Dolphins, "quarterback of the future", he will turn out to be better than I anticipate him to be. This still doesn't mean that I wouldn't want to see the Dolphins draft Barkley in next years draft if they get the opportunity. Perhaps Tannehill will come in and show he is another Marino and I will change my mind about him and my desire to see the Dolphins draft Barkley next year. Right now though, that is the way I feel and Tannehill can always prove me wrong by coming in and winning the starting QB position in his rookie season and showing he has what it takes to be a franchise QB in the future.
you're using Washington's asinine model of drafting Cousins and RGIII as your example of what we should do? I realize you're thinking about worst case scenario with Tannehill and hence the Barkley push, but the point of my post was that "good" franchises don't pull that silly crap.
If we had somehow landed Peyton I'd be very confident about our playoff chances with this schedule. With Matt Moore, Garrard, or Tannehill I'd say it's possible but unlikely.
Pass the crystal ball, the panty hose, the full length fur coat, the 1/3 ownership of a bar, the knee brace and dinner in Miami Springs. Ready? I guarantee a playoff berth.
what I said was not that I was predicting a post season game: great draft new, experienced coaching cadre & game philosophy practical purposeful free agency a solid roster to shape into a competitive force would not surprise me to see a post season this year I think we have talent & hopefully, the coaching will make the difference on the field this year. nothing overly optimistic, just hopeful.
23rd I think you're optimism is refreshing. I would rather see that than the doom and gloom reteric that some people dwell on.
well, since originally posting this & taking the heat from the nay-sayers for being overly optimoistic, seems that many have come around to a more favorable view of 2012. the draft went from a C- to an A-. Tannehill went from a raw & risky investment to competing with the possibility of winning the start & so the conversation continues to grow in a positive direction. maybe the possibility of making the post season will begin to catch on by the time we play our preseason games. in the end the game is all about winning, if you take that expectation/possibilities of winning out of the game you eventually lose your franchise
