When will the Dolphins resign him? He is my favorite player on the Dolphins and has been since 2008. I just don't understand it

I HOPE the Jets sign him. I'm sorry but his play against the pass is terrible and has been getting worse. The funny thing is that ten or fifteen years ago he would probably have been considered one of the top safeties in the league. However these days if you can't defend the pass you are a liability in the secondary, even at safety.

Age + Declining pass coverage skills = Goodbye.

Was hoping they resigned him at a better price. Do not want to see him in a Jet uniform.

Everybody brings up the age thing when talking about Yeremiah Bell. I don't agree with it. He doesn't play like he is 34.

what do we have for Yeremiah Bell when he is gone?

Thirty bleepin' four...He has to be the longest tenured "project" the Dolphins have ever had, brought in for his speed, milked about 6 injury riddled years, then came into his prime around age 30. He slowly morphed into Ozzy IMO...

He does play in pass coverage like he is 40 though. He's just terrible against the pass....there really isn't a way around it.

I'd rather have Clemons start at his more natural position of SS where he doesn't have to think as much and can play with his instincts. If he fails you know you need a new SS now and not in two years when Bell retires or falls off the face of the Earth.

Agree Y Bell is a horrible liability in pass coverage but I would hate to see any Ex-Phin in Jet Unis! Regarding the SS position I would like to give R Jones a shot. He seems to have enough speed to cover but can also hit a bit. If he would just learn the position.

A years worth of highlights that only includes about 11 plays. That might be a good indication of why hes gone.

He was the QB of the secondary. Too many of you don't realize what his communication meant to that defense. The same way many of you disregarded Channing Crowder's impact on run defense. Fact is, his play might have been declining, but he was better than the NOTHING we have at the position now. Watch the secondary be a huge liability again this year.

I agree. So if we Crowder's presence was missed at the beginning of the 2011 season, what's it going to be like without Bell?

the point is that Crowder's presence was not missed in the 2nd half of 2011. The unit learned to compensate for him, just like we hopefully will without Bell making the calls.
In any business, eventually the younger guys have to step it up and fill the void.

He is a free agent he is free to sign with anybody. He needs a job, so the Jets are a football team that could possibly give him employment.

This isn't a shock, and the notion of team loyalty by NFL players is comical...

We aren't a safety away from the Superbowl. Considering that it is much better to find out what we have in Clemons and Jones NOW rather than at some point in the future.
