So I am eligible for an upgrade on 11/16, and with a wave of phones coming out at the end of this year, I'm thinking about which one I want to get. I'm on Verizon, and I don't really plan on switching as I don't want to pay the contract fees.

I currently have a first generation Motorola Droid, which I really like, but the times have changed and I think I need something new. Here are the phones I am looking at:
    1. Motorola Droid RAZR: Also known as the Spyder and the Droid HD, this phone is set to be announced on Tuesday. It's got a 1.2 GHz dual core processor and should be 4G compatible. It runs a qHD display and should have mini HDMI out. Killer App: Aesthetically the phone is said to be made of Kevlar and Gorallia glass. That's good, as my pillaging means I'm often hard on my electronic equipment
    2. Apple iPhone 4s: I'm not sure if I want to switch to Apple from Android. I do a lot of traveling and Google Navigation beats Cupertino hands down. Still, this is the phone to have, but the lack of 4G support drops it down a bit, and I wish the screen size was a bit larger. Killer App: Not many people have gotten voice commands down, but SURI seems to be a breakthrough. Watching the demo was pretty impressive.
    3. Samsung Nexus Prime: I've been waiting for a Google phone that delivers, and the Nexus Prime looks like it may have it all figured out. The phone is rumored to have a 4.65" display running in 720p natively. Like the Droid RAZR it has a 1.2 GHz dual core processor, though there are rumors it is going to be 1.5. Killer App: It's going to be a Verizon exclusive, and the first phone running Ice Cream Sandwich (Android OS 4.0).
Right now I'm leaning towards sticking with Android, as I have a ton of Android apps on my original Droid and I don't necessarily want to transfer to another OS. It's really a tossup for me at this point between the Droid RAZR and the Nexus Prime, as I have had good success with Motorola products but haven't spent a lot of time with Samsung devices.

    Let me know your thoughts.

I went with Samsung INFUSE (4.5" screen) from AT&T. So if Verizon offers a similar makeup to that puppy (maybe its this Nexus Prime) go for it. Love everything about it, and let me tell you as you probably know, the understanding of FLASH that Android offers rules. Love going right to the site (just like a laptop) and launching the embedded video player for MLB, or Direct TV, etc without the need for special app, etc.

Samsung offers solid devices, and very good to great battery life, with Android Market providing some additional battery mgmt apps that do a great job.

    good luck with your decision.

Why is this the phone to have? Granted my opinion on the 4s has calmed since actually using the Siri feature. It is pretty awesome. But outside of that, for being THE phone, Theres not much different from other top phones on the market. If you drop your phone a lot I suggest you go with something with Gorilla glass. While the iPhone does have a glass that is pretty much scratch resistent. It can be cracked. Although you can go out and buy a Defender series otterbox and you wouldnt have to worry about dropping your iphone, although it would change the size of the phone pretty dramatically.

I'm going through this decision process right now. Coincidentally enough, I'm weighing almost the same options.

I have an HTC Incredible right now. Love the Android OS. Had an iphone 3GS before that. I'm fond of both operating systems. I'm also not in a hurry to do this, though, so I'm weighing the option of waiting for the iphone 5.

    For me it's:
    1) wait for iphone 5
    or
    2) get Samsung Galaxy now (whatever the latest one is called that's running Ice Cream Sandwich)

My only motivation to wait for the iphone is there is an online subscription service I pay for (MLS Live - streams MLS games). The iphone has an application that streams MLS games, the Android OS does not. I can watch this at home, but I thought it would be neat to be able to watch this when I'm out and about town. I could get this on the iphone 4S, but I figured I'd wait until the iphone with 4G capability came out for the better speeds. The downside is I don't know when the iphone 5 will come out.

The Samsung has such a nice big & bright screen though. and it's fast.

My Incredible still works fine though. I'm not in a hurry.

So I guess I'm not going to be of help - indecision about cell phones is so difficult! Which did you end up going with, Vengeful Odin?
