that would look really nice. although i really couldn't care less about the numbers tbh, my issue has always been with the shade of aqua we use. i think it should be much darker (like the shade of color the uniforms get when they're soaked). i.e.
Numbers are numbers until you drop shadow them. IMO, numbers don't really "look old". The picture looks old, because it is. Damn...did I say the 80's are old? Ugh. Anyway...that is better than this style they also wore in the 80's:
btw...as a sidenote: How badass is that picture in just giving us a reminder that Clayton played sometime with shades on? Yeah...I love that.
I don't see the logic in changing the color away from aqua. I see that as one of the unique things about this franchise. Miami is a team that still has a strong national following despite years of poor play and few marquee players since Dan. IMO the two biggest factors for that are our mascot and the color aqua. I think those are unique and attract fans at an early age. If we go to a darker green or an orange, Miami will lose some of that and as a result some of it's future following.
If you really truly look at our colors today compared to the 70's/80's, we're not wearing aqua anymore. It's darker and closer to green. You know, I'd give on the logo, the style (except the navy....that's GOTTA go), all of that...if we'd just go back to AQUA.
I've traveled around the country quite a bit and the three you hear mentioned as to why people are Dolphin fans (non-Florida residents or transplants from Florida) are they loved Marino, they loved dolphins or they loved the color. I know that the darker colors are cool and tougher, but I think it would be and has been a mistake to move away from one of the things that made us unique. I've never heard anybody (outside of some fans here) say they loved the logo. I do hear a ton of people (fans of other teams) make fun of the logo. I don't see it as one of those traditions that's respected.
I miss the creamsicle. I find myself not wanting to root for the new tougher Raider wannabee Buccaneers.
At least they have the pewter, that's unique. I just never rooted for them regardless of the color. I just hate the idea of Miami trying to go orange or blue or green like so many other teams.
I don't even think the color changed that much to be honest. Maybe it's a little darker but it's still roughly the same color and it's still unique.
I like that! I've always felt that the gray was a more logical alternate color to emphasize since dolphins are often that color. I also think it complements the aqua well.
Wow i gotta say i really do like those, i love the old logo and the gray. Bad ***. Now send this to Ross. I always loved the original colors, to me those were second to none, except the chargers maybe.
I hate the grey to be honest. I would love those jersey with the orange replacing the grey. Not a fan of grey or black on jerseys. Especially black, way over done
I like the grey for the same reason and I agree that black is over done, but I don't see that with grey. Dallas and Detroit are the only NFL teams that use it and it's one of their main two colors. Orange is much more over done than grey.
Like everything but the socks. I hope in 2013 Nike goes off the deep end and we are kinda Oregonish in the uniform dept. The entire NFL needs a facelift uniform wise.
what's great about that mockup is that it pays homage to the dolphin tradition and even gets the anti-drop shadow people off the organization's back lol
The Giants as well, i am not a fan of the black, or the orange, infact orange should only be for the trim. Billy i like those socks with that uni more than the solid socks, just my preference.
That was the first thing i noticed, I am a huge proponant of bringing back the old school look, and when i mean old school i mean the 70's early 80's. And that's cool you twittered that to Dee's, you're right probabaly wont do any good but hey great idea's start somewhere.
Not a fan of the Pro-Combat Samples but these i like. I would change the Gray to either Orange or Blue and match the Aqua Unis with white pants.
I hadn't thought of the Giants although I said Dallas and I don't think they use grey jerseys. In the picture above, I think I'd prefer the white pants paired with the aqua instead of the grey. I also like the aqua on aqua look, but only as a special occasion thing.
That's what I'm talkin about. The white and grey are both really nice. Are they def selling the grey?
These are just prototypes' not real, but man these are awesome love the old dolphin on the helmet and the all white ones are perfect.
