So what do you guys think will be the BEST match of Wrestlemania?

Depending on whether they use the cell like in the old days or the new PG way (IE not using it at all) HHH vs Undertaker has the potential to be the most entertaining. I also think Punk vs Jericho will be entertaining as well. I think Bryan vs Sheamus will be a dud.

Jericho/Punk, Triple H/Undertaker, Rock/Cena in that order. Although I wouldn't be surprised if Cena/Rock had the best match either. Both guys with the right opponent can put on a hell of a match and with the unpredictability of the outcome it probably has the most potential. As for Triple H/Undertaker, last year they used chairs to the head and blood (which went against WWE's PG policy but it's not like either guy would be suspended or fired) so I bet they will put on a pretty brutal match. Probably not crazy violence like HiTCs in the past but it won't be a watered down HiTC match that's for sure.

I think there will be a lot off seemingly impossible kick outs in Rock vs Cena and they will play on the idea of "Which one of these men has more will to win?".

Odds for Sunday Night. Looks like Undertaker, Team Johnny, and Orton will win.

    My predictions

Kelly kelly and Menounos over Beth Pheonix and Eve

Kane over Randy Orton or No Contest

    Big Show over Cody Rhodes

    Sheamus over Daniel Bryan

    CM Punk over Jericho

    Team Johnny over Team Teddy

    Taker over HHH

    Rock Over Cena

Side note, WrestleMania 26 I won 150$ on an online website betting on WrestleMania. Took me a year to get my money though

Why would anyone ever bet on an activity that has a fixed outcome? If I was Vince McMahon, I would drop a TON of money on this and just rake in the dough.

Yeah, I put $5 on the Rock, but I'm thinking about putting more later on some other matches. If the WWE plans on continuing the Rock / Cena feud, it makes more sense for him to win now, and then have Cena win later.

I think it's just that. You could argue it's a safe way to bet since it is fixed.

Major rumors are going around that Brock Lesnar will appear at WM28 and possibly interfere in The Rock/Cena match costing Rock the match and setting up Rock/Brock for WM29.

Also rumors are Batista and Lita are in Miami.

That would be really pathetic and stupid. IMO

    1) Brock Lesnar was never a favorite of mine. I hate these roided up big body men who can't even wrestle in the slightest bit. Stay in UFC where you can just pound on people and have it be an acceptable fighting style.

    2) As much as I hate Cena I'd rather watch him wrestle for a week straight non stop with my eyes glued open than have to watch/anticipate Rock/Lesnar for a year.

    3) How does that fit into any sort of storyline.

Say what you will about Lesnar, but he has put on some great matches. Especially with Kurt Angle.

Yeah I don't know Alex, Lesnar could really work. He had some great matches during his WWE run with Rock, Angle, Undertaker, Benoit, and Guerrero. He's not just the typical muscle head, he could actually wrestle and wrestle well. He was a wrestler in college so he had the background in it.

And Lesnar will draw, he was a draw with UFC and if he's brought back into the WWE he'll make them money. As far as storyline goes who knows, I'm sure they can come up with a simple one. Maybe IF The Rock beats Cena he says he has been every WWE wrestler thrown at him and there's not a challenge out there cue in Lesnar who says he essential retired The Rock at Summer Slam '02 and forced him into Hollywood and that The Rock has never beaten him. Then you have The Rock get the fans to turn on Lesnar saying he left them for the UFC and boom you got your heel. There you can run your Rock/Cena 2 match and have Lesnar show up and watch it, maybe hint at interfering, maybe he costs The Rock the match. Maybe run a Team Rock vs. Team Lesnar Survivor Series match etc. The only problem will be with Lesnar as his mike styles aren't very good so he can't go one on one against The Rock or he'll be buried.

Personally I'd rather see them do an Undertaker vs. Lesnar match at WM as their would finally be a match where the streak, in the average fans eyes, could end.

I wondered the same thing Sam. I know you don't work in the biz anymore obviously, but in your opinion how well guarded are the Wrestlemania finishes? Does most of or all of the lockeroom know who will win Taker/HHH, or Cena /Rock? I would think those have been laid out far in advance (at least who is going to win), and that word of mouth has to spread, even if Vince and company do not want that to happen.

Personally I remember Lesnar doing a bunch of hard clotheslines, beating the crap out of people and then using the AA errr umm F5. I don't doubt his ability to actually wrestle like...the real way. However I don't remember him being entertaining in the very least as a "fake" wrestler. Then again I was mostly 12.

I just don't see why you interfere with a match you were building up for a year to build another up for a year. That would make no sense.

I like the idea of Lesnar vs. Undertaker. It would have been better to even try to do that this year rather than a re-run with Triple H.

Also I wish it didn't cost so much to order Wrestlemania. I'd like to see it but I just can't dump that much money into something that lasts four hours. I mean it's almost half of what it costs to order MLB extra innings and that brings me enjoyment all summer long.

I know, I had originally written it as AA on accident and just went back and changed it. Cena ripped Lesnar I know. That is why at first it was called the FU

The finishes are heavily guarded and actually I wouldn't be surprised if the wrestlers found out the finishes a few hours before WM started, simply because most of the time Vince who's extremely hands on, especially for WM changes his mind every other minute. Hell McMahon decided a few minutes before WM18 started who was going to win the Rock/Hogan match. I bet the only ones who know the outcomes of the matches, if they're even decided yet, are the wrestlers in the match themselves, the McMahons, Triple H and only Vince's highly trusted employees like Patterson and Johnny Ace.

With the WWE being so paranoid to begin with with stuff leaking on the internet, I would be pretty shocked if the entire locker room knew what the finishes were going to be until the event went live. And even then I wouldn't be surprised if the wrestles not involved with the matches really knew. And rightfully so, I mean knowing the outcome of the matches and leaking it would cost the WWE. What's to stop a wrestler like I don't know Curt Hawkins (or another wrestler who could be out of a job shortly after WM when the WWE does it's annual cuts) for leaking the info to a website for some money? Obviously the wrestler would run the risk of being blackballed but still too much risk.

That was Lesnar's character though, to be an *** kicking monster who just destroys opponents, which he did to the small wrestlers. But when he had to actually wrestle guys like Rock, Undertaker, Angle etc he put on great matches. It's probably because you were 12 and it happened almost 8 or 9 years ago you probably don't remember. If Lesnar stuck around he probably would have been remembered as the best big man ever.

As for why you interfere with a match you were building up for a year to build another up for a year, this is the WWE. When do they do things that make sense?

Word is, and who knows how true it is, was that Lesnar didn't want to play 2nd fiddle to The Rock's return and Triple H already had his heart set on facing The Undertaker again. I actually don't think it would have been smart to bring Brock in to wrestle this year especially with The Rock's big match. Lesnar would have been overshadowed and it probably would have cost the WWE big money wasting Lesnar's return to the ring with the Rock/Cena match.

And yes I agree with the cost of WM, it's insane. Especially when if you wait a month the DVD will be out for 20 bucks. My best advice would be to find a group of people that want to see it and watch it together with them so it would only cost you like 10 bucks or so.

If Lesnar screwed Punk I'd fight him in a UFC style match and teach him a lesson about messing with the best in the world.

My story and I'm sticking to it.

FWIW, betting has been suspended for Wrestlemania. So yeah, the finishes were probably know last night.

Also FWIW, the Rock became less of an underdog before betting was suspended. The Undertaker / HHH match was suspended first. Team Johnny ballooned up to a 1/15 favorite, then back to 1/6, and then finally betting was suspended. Orton, Show and Punk became bigger favorites (slightly).

    My WM predictions:

    The Rock over Cena
    Undertaker over Triple H
Chris Jericho over Punk to win the title in a screwy way (Christian interferes)
Sheamus over Daniel Bryan to win the title
    Randy Orton over Kane
Big Show over Cody Rhodes by DQ or some kind of lame finish
    Team Johnny over Team Teddy
Team Kelly Kelly over The Team Other Divas

Hopefully it's a good card with good wrestling as the last few WMs have been let downs.

I pretty much think that will be the result as well. However I think maybe Kane over Orton because if Kane loses.....he no longer has ANY credibility IMO. I could also see Show over Rhodes clean, I think they may be trying to take the title off Rhodes to move him up to the World Heavyweight Title tier.

I've never liked Jericho as anything except an IC title type guy. I wonder how long he plans to stay in WWE.

IMO It is more likely Punk wins and Christian interferes after. That way it sets up a title match. If Jericho wins and Christian interferes you have Punk feuding with Christian for some random reason and Jericho without someone to defend the title against.

Couldn't disagree with you more on Jericho. The guy has been a big time talent for a long time. I used to tune into Monday Nitro just to see Jericho wrestle. He was a great heel too. I'm not as familiar with his more recent heel personas but back in the day he was so good at getting under his opponents' skin and making the guys want to just kill him. I loved the way he'd find people in the crowd with Jerichoholic signs or whatever and he'd take their signs and then just rip them up and stomp on them. I am very much wanting to see what he and Punk will do in a match.

It varies, to be honest. When I was working, there were certain programs that were laid out well in advance and you knew what the end game was going to be, and it was simply a matter of filling in the details.

For an event like Wrestlemania, most likely the wrestlers won't know the planned finish until close to go time. McMahon, and the agent assigned to assist in the match will approach the wrestlers weeks in advance, go over what the story of the match should be, but the actual outcome is usually reserved for the day of. And no way the other wrestlers know, or the announcers. The thought is, to get genuine emotion out of the announcers when the finish DOES happen.

But it all depends. Back in the day, the Hogan-Warrior match was scripted to every little punch. The two rehearsed the match multiple times before going out and doing in at Wrestlemania 6. The outcome was known well in advance. Of course, this was before the internet. I tend to think that Lex Luger is the one that tipped the scales in McMahon growing more and more paranoid about finishes leaking. That debacle forced major changes to that Wrestlemania. But ironically enough, also made Bret Hart a major star.

Batista IS in town, my friend who I grew up with is DJ'ing an after party for Wrestlemania, has confirmed it.

I don't know if he appears at Wrestlemania or not, but he is there.

Also, I wouldn't be shocked if a couple of other familiar faces show up tonight. WM and Raw tomorrow are going to be fun. ;)

I'm not saying he isn't a very talented guy. I just don't buy his move set/persona as a top guy in the business. All of his moves while in a technical sense are great, look really really weak. I used to love him back when he was in his feud with Benoit.

Codebreaker is all right I guess though.

Haven't watched much since HBK retired. I'll look for a stream, saw a picture of the set though.

I'm wondering how long it will take the Dolphins to match whatever the attendance is tonight? Probably like 85,000 or 90,000? Maybe 3 games...
