As per Schefter on Twitter and Rotoworld: This could get interesting... ESPN reports soon-to-be suspended Saints coach Sean Payton has approached Bill Parcells about filling in for him for the 2012 season. There would be a number of stumbling blocks to the Saints making one of the greatest coaches in league history the greatest interim coach in league history, but the possibility should not be dismissed. Known for never staying in one place for too long, Parcells would be inheriting a readymade Super Bowl contender, and get one last chance to earn a third championship that proved surprisingly elusive after he left the Giants in 1990. Parcells, who was Payton's boss from 2003-05 in Dallas, last coached in 2006.
Parcells can now bring back the bounty system since he will be gone after the season. But on a serious note does anyone think he has anything left?He didn't seem to eager to coach here and now he is older and away from it for a bit.I think he's done.
I doubt he want's to come back now and reset the HOF clock.. He's 70 - does he really want to wait another 5 years just for a chance to coach for a year?
The thing is that Saints would have to interview a minority. In this case most likely the candidate will know it is not potentially a rehire at this time. Good practice Interview for someone.
