Anybody watching the game on Sun Sports? With the orange on black, the uniforms are almost Heat like. JJ has thrown 5 scoreless innings against the Rays so far.

Almost opening day.....and on national tv.....how long has it been since that happened? Some random fox afternoon game against the mets or something a couple of years ago I figure.

They were on National TV in 2010 during the Puerto Rican series with the Mets I believe. I'm fine with it, though, I prefer Rich and Tommy over whoever ESPN throws out there.

I agree I'd rather just watch my team on their regional network instead of FOX and/or ESPN, mainly due to the weird start times on Saturday and Sunday and also the games tend to be longer due to longer commercial breaks etc. Plus like you said the announcers FOX and/or ESPN uses are pretty poor although I am interested in hearing Francona. I thought he did pretty well during the playoffs last year.

Me too, however I live in NC. So can't watch many games....only the local broadcasts when they play the braves or nationals.

Luckily both of those teams are "local in my area" and both are in the marlins division.

Too bad I have to listen to the marlins opponents announcers :(

To be honest with you I haven't heard enough of Valentine in the booth to have a real opinion on him. Whenever the Red Sox were on ESPN I was either in a large group setting so I couldn't hear the TV or I missed the game. Usually when I watch games on FOX or ESPN I have the sound turned down and either listening to music or doing something else so I'm not paying attention to what's being said.

As for Francona, I enjoyed listening to him in the booth, he gave good insight into what was going on, what he thought a team/player might do in this spot and why and most importantly he knew when to talk and when not too. I actually learned stuff from him when watching the game, which is important to me.

Still pissed I couldn't get tickets to opening day. And besides, I wouldn't be able to leave work early enough to get to the park in time anyway.

Bring on the season. I still like this team to win the pennant for the first time.

There were two exhibition games before this one so it's not the first hit ever.

Also this is a fun article about A-Rod. I know he's from Miami, but it's cool seeing his professed love for the phins.

it was even the first pitch, he did want to waste it...

could have been worse than him hater....:tongue2:

oh and A-Rod, you guys can please take him....please...I think Guillen should push this on the brass....

so, this thread derailed and went down hill quickly......and the OFFICIAL season hasnt even begun yet! :wink2:

P.S. was dissapointed in the last minute decision not to see the glorious sculpture come to life following Gaby's yard-ball. Was anticipating its glory...but alas, has to be an OFFICIAL game. Oh well...gett'm next time Gaby!
