Breaking news on the yahoo sports page. There's the wildcat. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d827c0dfb/article/sanchez-under-attack-jets-acquire-tebow
I wish it wasn't a 4th round pick and I hope to God he never play full time QB. But I like the move. And if you think stopping the wildcat was hard with Smith, good luck with Tebow. JESUS POWER!
A: It's a 4th AND a 6th. B: The thing about the wildcat is the threat of passing. That won't be around with Tebow. You know if he's in there, he's running. C: Just wait until Nacho's 1st bad game and the calls from the stands for Tebow begin. You think the locker room was fractured last year? Strap in, kids. Both our teams are going to be hilarious this year.
I'm just glad Tebow and Lin can actually do a lot more hanging out and tandem biking. Though Sanchez might not like the competition, unless he wants to tandem Upton with Tebow.
A. I meant I wish it was a 5th and a 6th. The 6th doesn't concern me and the Jets have late round compensatory picks coming back anyway. B. Brad Smith ran a very effective Wildcat. From 2008 through 2010, he attempted 6 passes and completed 4 for 51 yards. In 2008, Ronnie Brown attempted 3 passes and completed 2. Ricky didn't throw any. Tebow may be a terrible passer, but he poses more of a threat than Brad Smith, Ronnie Brown, or Ricky Williams. C. Whether Tebow is here or not, people would be calling for the backup, no matter who it is, after Sanchez's first bad game. That's a fact. Same thing will happen in Miami when Moore lays his first egg. People will be screaming for Garrard. Sanchez is the starter. Tebow is the backup QB who will also play in certain offensive packages. He is an extremely versatile player and from a pure football standpoint, considering the cost, it was a good move.
I'll be right back. Need to start whiney thread on how the media hates us. Any pointers on where to begin?
Again Jets fans: Tony Sparano was never a mastermind of anything, especially the wildcat. I give the guy credit that he had the balls to allow it to be an integral part of the offense, but you're kidding yourself if you think TS is some kind of innovative offensive genius
There is absolutely no evidence to support that claim. None. If he wanted a guaranteed starting spot, he sould have chose Jacksonville. Wouldn't you say he had a better shot at starting from Day 1 there? Come on. Get a clue.
The money Gabbert's making essentially justifies his starting job, rightly or wrongly. Tebow knows Sanchez sucks and the fans know Sanchez sucks. Hell Sanchez knows Sanchez sucks The thing is Tebow will supplant Sanchez due to the pressure that will mount after the jets come out of the gate losing, and losing badly. There is no such pressure in Jacksonville.
That hardly would have been a guarantee. He should replace Sanchez pretty easily by midseason. You should be happy. He's not exactly a great QB or anything but at least he isn't a spoiled, pampered pantywaist like hot dog is.
Bick...all your examples of the wildcat, they worked at first but what happened after defenses adjusted? The wildcat is useless now. And c'mon man...you're smarter than that! You CAN'T compare crowds calling for any other backup to them calling for the genuflecting douchenozzle. If that were the case, they'd be selling out of Stanton jerseys in Sports Authorities all over the tri-state area. Really bro....can't believe you made that comparison.
If the Jets had signed Garrard, the fans would be chanting his name if Sanchez was struggling. Ditto Orton or Henne. -Ed-
Bro stop! Tebow has a fan base to himself...not only will Jet fans be calling for him, HIS fans will. This is as media circus that will end up in choas. You know it.
if you think sparano is EVER going to go for 2 pt conversions, I can think of at least 6 jets games the past 3 years that you apparently did not watch
When will you guys get it through your thick skulls. Sparano is the OC. The head coach makes that call. -Ed-
Winners win , losers lose, congrats Bicketybam.... I introduce the fin fans that are anti Tebow to actual reality and not opinion 7-24 WORST TEAM IN THE NFL IN 31 GAMES BEFORE TEBOW (DENVER BRONCOS ) 2-8 2009 (last 10 games of season) 4-12 2010 1-4 2011 (first 5 games of season with Von miller and everyone else) 7-4<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Tebow in as QB 2011 NO OTHER PLAYER CHANGE Playoff win +1 also here is his production for his 16 starts (and he played in 7 other games for a few plays) (includes 2 post season starts) Total Yards: 3835 Passing : 2885 Rushing: 950 Total TDs : 32 Interceptions: 9 Fumbles lost: 7 Completion percentage: 47.3% QB rating: 78.1 (includes post season) now watch this...this actually happened, its not opinion. I have heard the following reports on NFL Sirius since the trade. *Tebow chose NY over Jax *Tebow did not want to go to Jax because he would be the 3rd string QB *Sanchez was shocked at the trade considering his recent extension *Teammates can't understand why a back up QB is getting is own press conference It will be interesting watching the Jets this year. Sparano as OC is a questionable if it was the only strange move they made. Toss in the Sanchez extension and Tebow trade and if they melt down they are going all in.
I do not know, but that beautiful soul named Tim Tebow has taught me tolerance. I can no longer be angered by attacks on my team. When I start to get upset, I say to myself, "What would Tebow do?"
And I introduce you to reality. First year the Dolphins use the Wildcat...unstoppable. What happened the next year when it was figured out? Apparently, didn't even take a year to figure out Tebow, as Belichick depantsed him in the playoffs with one of the worst defenses in the league. THAT'S reality, son.
