last year we had terrible coaching besides maybe Nolan. But lets face it Daboll is not a good play caller and Sparano didnt do a damn thing so our coaching is automatically a huge upgrade from last year. its easy to look at most teams in early March and point out holes if you're looking for a pro bowl caliber player at every position which it seems like you people do all the time. we still have plenty of time to fill those holes very deep receiver class this year and we have back to back picks in the 3rd. Murtha can step in and play RT we want a more athletic line anyway and we can find a RG, draft a QB and 2 receivers. all we need on D is safety and pass rusher we still have plenty of time. you guys act line the season starts in a month. Do you realize how different our team is going to look in 5 months????? how can you even judge what you think we are going to do when we are going to have a bunch of new players come September.

You haven't been around very long have you? This roster is little different from the rosters in the mid 90's through several years in the 2000's - and it's the same thing said by hundreds of Dolphin fans, thousands of times. Come and talk trash when the scoreboard says something significant - like Dolphins in AFC Championship or SB. Otherwise, your arguments are equal in value to those by Cubs or Astros fans that have been employed countless times in the past. "Yes, we could, possibly, maybe, almost, just-like-those-other-guys-did-that-one-time-if-the-QB-turns-out-to-be-better-than-expected, be a good team."

Going 6-3 when games don't really matter because a team is out of the playoffs offers little indication. When you have nothing to lose - you are a dangerous team b/c you play loose and free and take more risks.

I don't dislike Matt Moore and, in fact, it is very possible he would be a decent WCO QB (assuming we get some WR's); but there are so many holes the Dolphins could have filled but didn't it is inexplicable unless either a) Ross has little money to spend and his real estate empire is so hurting he can't spend much more than the minimum; or b) Ireland is so indecisive/arrogant in free agency that they don't really go after a player of need with any aggressiveness; or c) players really are scared away from Miami as some other players are saying.

since obviously you know nothing about our new offense, it is designed to spread the ball around to 4-5 different guys. you dont need a "#1" receiver. we dont need to have Marshall in there complaining and being a distraction if he isnt getting the ball as much as he wants. if we draft 2 receivers in the first 3 rounds we will have AT LEAST 4 solid passing options, and thats only assuming that one of those rookies produces somewhat decently. plus we get out of a big contract and i bet we can find someone in the 3rd round who can catch a TD!

I'm sorry you need a THREAT at WR and we currently don't have that. Its quite an expectation thinking a rookie WR can produce right away in the NFL it rarely happens.

well.... io don't want to be pessimistic, buttttttt...... at the moment (and I know we still have the Draft and some FAs, so it is not necessarily over): we had 2 losing seasons, we don't have a true QB, we don't have a 1WR, we don't have a RT, we don't have another Passrusher, we seem to not have any true Playmaker....

now, if ALL of this is Sparano&Daboll's fault, because they were bad coaches.... I think it is too semplicistic (and you always could argue: who decide to extend Sparano & sign Daboll? was not the FO?)

anyway, last season (draft&FAs) wasn't so bad, so let's hope for this year's draft and so on, but I find worrying to read - even in some article that was trying to defend him - about Ireland's mind boggling arrogance...
I think if you show your arrogance - even more in a public role - you are likely an idiot, because it is counterproductive for your job and if you don't understand - or you don't know at least how to hide it - well, in my mind that is a problem.
not because you have to be a nice person, but because you rub the people the wrong way and that is (almost) never a good way to do business.
you can think that the rest of the world is just dumb (and I am sure that is a common feeling around the world :D ), but it would be convenient to be able to hide or something like that.

anyway, we are in March so not everything is lost, right? and good coaching+weak schedule+maybe some key-injuries to other teams... who knows?

Not really worried about some of those players as they were late round picks or UDFA but we did trade up for both Thomas and Gates did we not? Clemons and Misi have been pretty disappointing. Especially Misi. Ireland has landed some very good FA but failed to find decent linemen and before you point out he drafted Long and Pouncey they were both no brainers. Ireland has just been underwhelming considering the hype Tuna and him brought. It was shocking that the Oline was bad under Tony. Hopefully Philbin has some say in the draft.

Damnit DaFins! You're supposed to be tickled pink that we won 6 games! With all the upgrades so far we migh even win 8 this season! OMG, OMG, OMG... If you dont like the sound of that then you are obviously a whiny little *****.. geesh buy a clue..

News flash southbeachbeast..... 6 wins = we do suck..
Now hopefully we can turn things around with a new HC but there are plenty of reasons for fans to be upset and hesitant about supporting this FO.

hey since you are so results based and dont watch the games. How many games did we lose by more than 3 when Moore started and played the whole game??? ONE, and it was the first game he started against the Jets in New York where if they call the obvious pass interference on Marshall instead of a pick six by Revis we win that game. We had an entire new offense to learn in the offseason in a LOCKOUT year with our back up QB forced into action by week 4. how many reps you think he got with the 1st team before that??? we lost to @Giants by 3, Denver by 3 in OT, @ Dallas by 1, and @ NE by 3.... its not like were getting blown out and are clearly worse then these other teams... the only difference between us and those team (besides Denver) was they had a better QB. and Moore got hurt in the Philly game and we had to play JP LOSMAN. do you guys seriously not watch the games??? how can you say we are so far off when we clearly can play with anyone. we beat GB two years ago and should have beat the Giants last year. we can play with these teams were losing CLOSE GAMES it happens in the NFL everyone has talent.

Obviously you haven't read enough of the comments on this forum if you don't think fans blamed the coaching for the failure of the team over the last three years. In 2010, fans on here were constantly blaming Henning and Sparano for the play of the offense. The call for firing Henning was even greater then the call to fire Ireland is right now. Sparano certainly took his share of heat on this forum until he was eventually fired also.

Four years ago, Parcells, Ireland, and Sparano came here with the intention of rebuilding this organization. The team has been going backwards every year since 2009. They are a combined 20-28 over the last three years. Parcells is no longer with the team and Sparano was finally fired this past season. Now it is time for the owner to step up and get rid of the last of these three failures. I certainly blame the owner for where this team is today, but I mostly blame him for sticking by a GM who doesn't have a clue.

You keep saying in your posts that there isn't much difference between going 10-6 and 6-10. That may be true, but there is also not that much difference between going 6-10 and going 2-14. So no matter how slim the difference between winning and losing may be. The fact is that the Dolphins have been a losing organization since Ireland became the GM four years ago and it is time for him to GO.

The only thing ANY thread on here lately proves is that we are deeply divided on what this team is. Nothing else. If someone says the sky is blue half the board will agree and the other half will say their color blind.

Starting to get a little tiresome.

"Can't we all just get along?" :knucks:

I think nothing is impossible. Honestly the biggest issue we have had as a team seems to be our slow start, which is funny cause I remember during the Marino era where we would start fast and fade the last 4 to 6 weeks.

Even Cameron Wake wasn't used much during his first year here, but he IS considered a great player.
It's hard to judge a car if Mr Magoo is driving... I think that we will get our best look at all of these young players this year with a more "team-oriented" approach...

If I'm not going senile, Grove, Smiley, and Carey all suffered from various injuries and none of them really recovered. We still paid them a ton of money, but we got unlucky on the injury front.

I wasn't trying to imply you were.
I was just reminding everyone of the 2 major circumstances that lead to the turnaround. Since then, we've steadily declined each year.
