First and foremost, I'm a Rams fan. My team has toiled in obscurity for decades, and save for Kurt Warner, we'd be the Pittsburgh Pirates of the NFL. Anyway, I want to say I'm not trying to be rude, because I feel like I am a fan of the poorest run franchise in he NFL. However, I was at the bar and asked my buddy *why* Flynn didn't sign with the Dolphins. Something must have happened, because he got a minor contract from a minor team. This conversation ensued with my buddy: "I'm the Dolphins. I have the OC of the young, FA QB on the market. He knows the offense. He wants minor money. He could be a potential superstar!!!!!" "Nah, lets sign Garrard!" "But our best player! Brandon Marshall! Freakishly gifted WR with some baggage. He'll be a target for whoever we get!" "Or we could trade him for nothing?" YEAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!! What happened with Flynn? I can't find ANY explanation online as to why the Dolphins would not invest minor dollars in him. Jesus, what the hell is going on?
3 years, 26 mil is small!? That's almost 9 million a year. Your thinking it's a small number because most contracts are for longer terms. We weren't going to pay Flynn that much. It's insane really. There is simply not enough footage on Flynn to think that he's worth that.
As you might have guessed, our front office are just really, really bad at their jobs. And no, that's not an insane number for Flynn. He only got 10 million guaranteed. They can get out of that contract no problem if he fails.
If you have the poorest run franchise in the NFL as you state, perhaps you should reconsider when you note that your HC now is the man the owner of the Dolphins made his number one priority in his teams coaching search. I certainly think that the Dolphins have taken the title of,"worst run organization" in the NFL, since Ross became the majority owner of the team. The reason Flynn, Manning, Smith, and several other players didn't sign with the Dolphins had nothing to do with money. The Dolphins have been wasting money on second tier talent since Ross and Ireland have been running this organization. What it all came down to with all these players was they really had no interest in working for a team run by Ross and Ireland. It is as simple as that.
It means Flynn's former OC who is our HC didn't think enough of Flynn's potential to match Seattle's offer. Who's perception of Flynn is probably closer to the reality of Flynn....fans or his OC? Garrard is not meant to be our starter. 1 year deal. Insurance, in case our plans fall apart in the draft. Brandon Marshall does not fit our coach's mold of a WCO WR and he punched a woman in NY and there may be a suspension. We had to get rid of him while we could. As far as "only" 2 x 3rd picks for a receiver who scored 9 TDs in two years? Its a crap ton better than what Indy got for Peyton.
Agreed. Charlie Whitehurst ring any bells Seatle fans? Another guy who was a back up that looked good and didnt pan out along with many others Scott Mitchell, Kevin Klob, Etc.

because the coach who has worked with him every day for four years didn't want to hitch his future to the skillset... Not sure why this is so hard for you or anyone else to understand, its the most obvious indictment I think I've ever seen. considering the head coaches situation. Love to see how seattle fans are rationalizing their new QB being rejected by his old coach...lol This is the decision I wanted our new coach to make, and he did..Well done sir.
Why I love our new coach... ''I don't believe Matt Fynn has the skillset of a franchise caliber QB...and isn't that what we are trying to find around here the past 15 years. Honestly imo, after looking at the player as much as I know how, I would rather look at Tannehill, RG, or Weeden..Those three QB's have the upside that I don't believe Flynn has.. My reasons for souring on Flynn are as follows.. 1} I think one thru three at receiver, and starting tight end, green bay is top 5 at each position..Jennings is top 5 for me, Jordy is a top 5 2nd receiver, easy, Donald driver is a top 5 3rd receiver, and Finley is a top 5 talent at his position.. 2} I don't believe the games he played in mattered to the opponent.. 3} I believe he has had superior coaching and had a gameplan that was catered to his checkdown and short zone strengths during those two games. 4} I don't believe his arm can threaten every inch of a football field...I feel once the games get more intense, the defenses get better, the more constricted he will become from the pocket. 5] he does not have prototype size, he does not have prototype arm strength. 6} we have Matt Moore on our roster, and I believe he can spin the ball better..same age...same height..more experience.. 7] I don't want to sign a player with limited talent to a franchise type contract, I'd rather have the combination of Moore, a rookie with very high upside, and spend that 30 to 40 mill on our many other holes...His talent just doesn't make me want to go all in on.. I totally get the whole inside track thing, and If our coach wants to tie his chain to this particular player, I will support him 100 percent, just goin on the record here as to how I feel about the players potential. My draft strategy at this point, goes into two completely different directions, and feel good about both... all in on RG3, or dropping down a bit, and picking up either Weeden or Tannehill and getting an extra 2nd rounder. the intel we have personally on these three QB's should allow us to be confident in whichever direction we go in.''
