You guys had that Baylor connection, and aren't at number two. I find it funny that it says this on his wiki page "At Baylor, Ireland was known for making difficult kicks but missing the easy ones. Against Rice University in 1991, for example, he made a 58-yard field goal, then missed field goals of 43, 45, and 27 yards".

Looks like his GMing career is definitely following his kicking career, except I haven't seen his 58-yard field goal... maybe if you want to count the one good year.

WR was never an option in round 1 for DA Bears.

Sources close to me are saying the Bears are having trouble getting their guys as they are snapped up right before their eyes, but instead of settling for the next best receiver they'll take some overall value.

Nineteenth Overall: Andre Branch, DE, Clemson - Chicago Bears

The Bears are still looking at finding a top target, but will probably wait until later to add to their hallowed halls of the likes of Marty Booker. Can't blame the Bears for sticking to who they are, a defence first team. Peppers will make it easier for Branch on the other side and he'll be someone that can stay on the field unlike Corey Wooten.

Branch has a quick first step, and can dip under blockers to get pass them making him lethal off the edge. Definitely made the folk down at Clemson forget about Bowers when he stepped up. He's a little lighter than Bowers and not as strong at the initial point of contact, still will be a good rusher at end.

Things could always turn out wrong in a bad way, but really this turned out pretty good. As long as they don't think too hard of the players they wanted drafted before they got on the clock.

You know what hurts, when you come home expecting a hearty home cook meal after a long day of watching young chiseled athletes running around showing their physical prowess, only to find a dear john letter telling you she found someone with more money.

I'm just saying I know how the Titans felt when their Courtney, I mean Courtland Finnegan leave.

Twentieth Overall: Dre Kirkpatrick, CB, Alabama - Tennesee Titans

This is great value here as a receiver or two amongst other leap frogged Kirk Patrick in the draft, allowing a corner needy Titans team to snatch him up. I think it has a lot to do with the original Titans general manager coming from the same GM tree as the Lions personnel man.

The new guy on the block, definitely knew what needed to be done. Dre gives them a cornerback with good size, strength and arm length that will be able to hold receivers in check in man coverage but he might not be able to stay as tight physically based on the rules of the pro game. He is a hitter more than a wrap up tackler, and can win jump balls with his height and athletic ability.

Some how the new General Manager is keeping Bud Adams in check like Arnold did to Richard Dawson in the running man, now we'll see if he can keep grabbing the same kind of value through the rest of the draft.

There are a couple guys I'm shocked are still on the board. I guess I can believe one of them is there considering the position he plays, but even still. I'm hoping at least one of them are gone by the next time I pick because while I have guys I could use more at other positions I don't think I can pass on both of them.

For real life NFL games that may have moments where he may have to perform in pressure situations? No. :)

looking to move 1.31 down and pick up an extra 2nd rounder. Anyone interested? I may look to trade up, but I doubt I will because I think the player I'm interested in will be taken within the next couple of picks. So, PM me if you are looking to trade up into the 1st.

The next pick brings the first round receivers to just under a quarter of the picks selected.

Twenty-First Overall: Alshon Jeffery, WR, South Carolina - Cincinnati Bengals

Jefferey is rated as the top possession receiver in the draft, with good body control and exception hand-eye coordination. However out of most of the receivers there has been a lot going against him in regards to rumours, like his weight issues even though he came in to the combine at a trim 217 pounds. Then there is the question about his forty time.

He disappointed in his junior season but with AJ Green on the roster he should be able to play the complimentary role just fine, though I thought the Bengals needed to address their linebackers more and the fact that Shipley plays well when on the field it makes me wonder if they were better serve waiting for the second round.

As long as he doesn't turn out to be the next Dwayne Jarrett, the Bengals should be ok. We'll see if some of the hate is justified.

I just liked the idea of Andy Dalton throwing to AJ Green, Alshon Jeffery, Jordan Shipley, Terrelle Pryor, and Jermaine Gresham.

I have 24 on the block.
I am not looking for players, just picks preferably a scenario where I get an extra 2. That doesn't mean it has to be something where you give two twos and only get back my first. We have options.

Or the Fins, but I feel bad enough for ya'll already. You got the new Al Davis, just minus all the success from before he went senile.

Funny, I heard that when they hired Spags. Yet, here they are with yet another new staff coming off of yet again a 2 win season. If the Raiders are poop, the Rams must be Santorum, and I'm not just talking about the candidate.
