Richard Marshall disagrees. So does Dansby. Reggie Bush seems happy here.

To be fair, Florio didn't right it, Ryan Clark did.
    Florio just reported it.

It was really funny on Thursday. You know how ESPN Sports Center has the lineup of upcoming topics on the left side of the screen. For the hour I watched, they had Miami misses on Manning pinned at the top, with no mention or Arizona at all.

Should be good fodder going in to camp.

So far this puff piece story is nothing more than 1 player's opinion. How does something that happened a year ago appear in 2012 when no other players (outside of a jilted Crowder) have come forth with new information that would make it presently relevant?

Funny how they select to accentuate Miami's failure and skip over Arizona's when both were in the same hunt. Especially considering Arizona paid Cobb a boatload of cash last year.

Good article. Jeff Ireland is the problem here, why didn't Stephen Ross fire him the minute after he bought the Dolphins?

I don't believe Jeff Ireland has done as porous a job as perceived, but I do believe there is a truth to the story.

I think we'd all agree that most players will always choose more money/years when it comes to their FA decisions. When you have players that choose other destinations for less money, or better situations, vibes, etc. that says something. Now, it's not every FA that shuns Miami. Our last BIG win was Karlos Dansby, but other than that, what was another FA we snagged that was being pursued by other teams, or had visits lined up after Miami. I think Richard Marshall was a nice win, along with Soliai, but they weren't players being fought over by multiple teams. We were competing against Denver for Soliai and Marshall said Arizona, didn't even attempt to bring him back really.

I think Jeff Ireland's reputation is one of the most tarnished in the league. That's pure opinion, but starting from the Dez Bryant incident, maybe earlier, topped with quite a few coaching/FA losses, the reputation isn't good. And that does have an affect on players. Because as much as we talk about stories like these and the crap they are, it's all the players from different regions read/hear/base opinions off of.

They don't mind being in Miami because they're being drastically over-paid (Dansby), or because they know they only have to suffer through one more season (Bush). Not sure about Marshall, though. Maybe he's just insane.

There are about 50 other men on the roster as well. What are their reasons for being here?

The bottom line is that this is a bunch of media bullpoop. Free agents visit and don't sign with teams all the time. Yet in our case it means there is something horribly wrong with us. Since when does anyone give one flying **** about what a mediocre safety thinks?

First the Dez Bryant nonsense, then Crowder made his comments, now Clark. One might be an anomoly, but not 3. We can laugh all day that Bryant is a baby, or that Crowder sucks, or that Clark is an average safety, but these are all besides the point.

Forgetting these perceptions for a minute, what has Ireland done over the last 5 years to prove he should still be employed with this organization?

Dez Bryant's dad is/was a pimp. Dez Bryant's mother worked for his dad. Before I hire a person and give them millions of dollars I'm going to make sure I know everything about that person. Ireland's question, albeit harsh, had to be asked.

Crowder was basically fired. Have you ever been fired? I haven't, but if I had I'm sure I wouldn't like the guy who fired me.

    Clark is a moron.

I think the original point was not to discuss the ad hominems but the problem the Dolphins have. And, I think it relates to a failure to really treat players like they want them and are the most important man in the building at the time.

Ireland is a Parcells disciple and though he's different he just doesn't do a good sales job. I don't care what you think of a player, when you are entertaining a free agent and he enters the building, you have to treat him as though he is the man - you want him more than any other team in the league and that you are excited about his arrival. Ireland's approach is too arrogant - to meat market. It's clear Flynn did not get that feel.

At the same time the team needs to be decisive and wise. They have been foolish. There are so many things wrong with this situation it is hard to know where to start: They are not decisive - not going for the jugular with players. They are *****-footing around with some guys that they could land right now; then they go after a player (Alex Smith) who is not going to leave SF unless Manning goes there (and who might not be any better than Matt Flynn; certainly doesn't know the system like Flynn - he's a marginal starter in the league except for the presence of Jim Harbaugh). That's just ridiculous.

Ryan Clark "Nobody wants to play for the Dolphins"

Goes back to what I have been saying about perception. It is true and it exists. We are toast with Ross and Ireland....

Peyton Manning informed the Miami Dolphins he wouldn't be playing for them last week.

Fellow free agent QB Matt Flynn visited the team --and new HC Joe Philbin, his former offensive coordinator in Green Bay -- but opted to sign with the Seattle Seahawks instead.

HC Jim Harbaugh met with Dolphins owner Stephen Ross and GM Jeff Ireland about a year ago while then-Miami HC Tony Sparano was still under contract. But Harbaugh took his next job with the San Francisco 49ers.

Jeff Fisher decided to resume his coaching career with the St. Louis Rams in January over the Fish.

    Coincidence or pattern?

    One player has weighed in.

Wow an AFC rival kicking a team while they are down. Shocking. He opted to play for less on a team that has more Super Bowl victories in the past decade than we have playoff appearances. Shocking.

I keep hearing people say that Flynn chose Seattle. How do we know the Dolphins even offered him a contract? How do we know that the Dolphins didn't like him enough to pay him $26 mil?

Harbaugh wasn't coming to Miami. The owner or GM matter not.

Fisher sucks. Plus, the Rams have a franchise QB and tons of draft picks. Fisher needs that to keep his job.

That one player is a nobody running his mouth on twitter.
