You would pay Flynn 60 million dollars. I sure as hell wouldn't. No wonder they are entertaining other visits.

Saving face=calling someone less of a fan for questioning the direction of the team? I guess I don't follow that logic.

I have been reading around here, and opinions are extremely varied. The great thing about that is it is okay to disagree, but there is a right and wrong way to go about disagreeing. Calling out someone's level of fandom isn't EVER the right way. In fact, it is insulting.

I think we are just putting pressure on Flynn to get him cheaper

I think this is a reaction to where this fanbase is right now...

    1) Some fans justified Henne as a guy that didn't have a lot of skilled players around him.
    2) Some justified MMoore, a guy that had a half of a good season in his career.
    3) Some justified Manning, a guy that probably isn't ever going to be the guy he was and we still can't assume when his recovery will be complete.
    4) Some justified AJ Feeley based on a good half a season with another team.
    5) Some justified Kyle Orton, a guy that was eventually cut and is now a FA (I don't know how anyone could though).
    6) Some justified Carson Palmer, a guy who'd been out of the game for nearly a year and just wasn't the guy that he was 3 yrs ago...
    7) Some justified Ryan Tannehill because of his connection with Sherman and this offense.
    8) Some justified Brandon Weeden because he may be the most mature, polished NFL ready Rookie.
    9) Some justified Alex Smith...because he's had one decent season in 7 yrs...
    10) Some are now trying to justify Garrard....

That's what happened when you lose a Dan Marino and don't have the ability to replace him in better than 10 yrs...

I don't get what people think should happen, why would you pay 10 million a year for an unproven commodity and on top with a head coach that knows the player, has worked with him for 4 years.
Please stop your overreaction to any move.
To me it is very clear that Philbins philosophy is being implemented, out with that dick Marshall and don't jump the gun look for the right people and maybe next year the team can be what we want.

Where did I come REMOTELY close to saying I would pay $60,000,000 for Flynn in that post? Don't read between the lines. Focus on the words that are actually there. I described the exact game the FO and Flynn and his agent are playing.

This is no different then car shopping. You(FO) go to a dealer knowing what you want to spend. You find a car you like and test drive it. Dealer(Flynn and agent) says it is $xx,xxx. You say "I was thinking more along the lines of $yy,yyy". Dealer says, "we can't do that". You get up, thank him for his time, and go to another dealer. If the dealer really wants to make the sale, they will call back with a different offer that will be closer to what you are thinking.

I like Garrard better than I like Smith, but I still think Moore is better than either of them.

I think Ireland wants to "win" the deal.

OH BULL ****!!! The last 15 years of decisions this team has made is what makes the Dolphins look bad. The last 15 years of drafts is what make us look bad. THE LACK OF WINNING GAMES IN THE LAST 15 YEARS IS WHAT MAKES US LOOK BAD. Don't act like its only the fanbase that makes us look bad. Look at how the national media (and now other coaches and players in the league) perceive the Dolphins. We are not a great destination anymore. Its not because our fans suck.

You're right. This team sucks so ****ing bad. How dare they bring in the QB options that are out there. We should just do nothing so the fans can ***** about that.
Then we don't have to waste the time or spend the money. God we should hire one of those no it all's from the website because Ireland is a horrible clueless GM.
We should have kept that over rated piece of garbage Brandon Marshall. I'm so sad we traded that puke for the only value he has. He was such a great guy and a wonderful WR.
I can't believe we haven't signed all the free agents that are available this year. We have cap money coming out of our *** yet we can't seem to get off of it.
Why don't we have Dan Marino visit. He is a free agent. We could sign him to a $100 million deal and he could finish his life here.
While I'm at it Joe Philbin is a ****ing moron. I can't believe he couldn't land Manning or was it Ireland and his rotten egg farts again. I'm so hurt because Ross promised us a top 5 franchise QB and now I don't get one.
It is time to stomp off to my room now and cry myself to sleep..... Boo hoo.

I agree, but it seems he is negotiating against himself here. Flynn already turned down Seattle, right?

You sound like John Madden. You don't have to explain the game to me. I know how it works.

Wow....that's your rebuttal to a general statement about disagreeing?

    I'll break this down simply:

    1) everyone is entitled to their own opinion no matter how unpopular or ridiculous

    2) disagreeing is totally fine, there is a right and wrong way to go about it.

    3) just because people disagree with how things are being run doesn't make that poster any less of a fan.

If you feel that way then that's your right. If your hyperbole has a purpose other than proving my point about varying opinions, please explain.

Then why post the foolish hyperbolic drivel that you do? Do you have a point? Or are you just trolling?

Is it putting pressure on Flynn to basically say, "If you don't sign with us...we're looking at David Garrard?"

That seems like it would cause Flynn to demand more money.

Than Gerrard it is! Welcome the The Dolphins... We will pay very little and have him compete with Moore for the season book it..

Ireland feels he wins, by paying next to nothing for a name. Gerrard gets another shot and is happy, and Moore is happy because he gets a change to win the position. Flynn comes down on his number and goes to Seattle. Alex Smith goes to Clevland and we go 7-9 next year.

Next year we will look for another QB to fit the system.

I sure hop all you who wanted us to win at any cost last year are happy with what that did to the team. There was no reason to win anything last year ZERO good came from it.. We should have doe like Indy and tanked smartly. Played alot of rookies and got a Franchise QB to build upon instead of looking for diamond QB's in the rough.

same old ups & downs that go around & around, nowhere fast
I think Ice Hockey & Soccer are good sports, always loved boxing

there is life beyond this perennial loser Dolphin Franchise
think I'll take a break & check back in @ the beginning of pre-season

the only thing more ridiculous than watching this garbage strewn about the street is playing in it.
I have reached the point with the dolphins that they will have to show me something to regain my attentions

it's all just become too ugly to bear, thank God Marshall got out, all the guy ever wanted to do is win
    :theman:Matt Moore
