The difference here is the Philbin-Flynn connection. And this is the only reason I think most are comfortable with this.

Philbin is probably of all the people possible, the most experienced with who Flynn is. If anyone can put this kid in a system to succeed, Philbin likely has the best shot at doing so. Whether he becomes a system QB, or is good on his own merits, the point remains that this is likely the best guy on the market to saddle with Philbin.

Put it this way, let's go with the assumption he's a Journeyman, middle of the road, like Moore (I think his two NFL starts can put a solid argument that might be a fair assessment). If you assume that, he's an upgrade over what we've got if Philbin is a good coach. If he's not, then they're both going to ride into the sunset together (odds are with Ireland too).

I don't think there's any question Flynn will be a system QB. I also think most QBs are system QBs, including Brady.

I'm not sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing that Matt Flynn left Seattle without a contract offer. Makes me wonder if Seattle said, "Go to Miami and see what they offer you. We'll beat it." Sounds crazy when I type it. But the way things have been going I'm having a hard time picturing a positive outcome.

lol, you talk about giving up your season tickets because you have disdain for an exec, then you state how easy they are to obtain..

I would wager Philbin has ALOT to say with personnel for this simple reason...

The Dolphins just fired Tony Sparano.

    You JUST hired Joe Philbin.

You obviously didn't like the product Tony Sparano produced.

You obviously WANT the product Philbin produces.

In order to get that product, you have to give Philbin the players he wants.

Otherwise, Jeff Ireland and Steven Ross might as well be the coaches and get the whatever players they want.

That's just how I see it.

If we do indeed sign Flynn (which I think is going to happen), Philbin will base his head coaching career on Matt Flynn like Tony Sparano did with Chad Henne.

obviously not if you're throwing out a poor me routine. And yes dude you're such a winner because you are overzealous about a team you choose to watch, winning. OOooooooooooooooo I'm impressed.
