Can someone please tell me why we are not going after any of the good WR's that are available? I just heard that Brandon Lloyd is signing with the Pats. The rich get richer. This is a total freakin joke anymore.
Dude you must be a new Dolphins fan, every year Jeff Ireland has the organization sit on their thumbs and sit back and do nothing while other teams in the division get stronger. Nothing new to report here.
I don't know what you're talking about. We have Brian Hartline, Davone Bess and Clyde Gates. That is one of the top 30 WR trios in the NFL.
St. Louis for sure. Maybe Jacksonville, although the Robinson signing probably puts them ahead of us.
Bc we can get comparable talent at 1/4 the price in this very deep draft class. My 2 picks I would love to see are Givens and Broyles
Huh? He's 31 years old and in 9 seasons the guy has played for 6 different teams, had one 1000 yard receiving season, has never had more than 75 catches in a season and has caught more than 5 TD's in a season only once. All for a career average of 34 catches, ~500yds, and 3 TD's per season. Yeah...we should have spent a little more of our cap space on that guy.
I'm a huge fan of the TALENT of Brandon Lloyd and the plays he can make. However when you watch the guy sometimes it is clear he does not want to be playing tackle football. If this was flag football he might be one of the top receivers I take. Incredible ability to make catches I've only seen Megatron make, but put a safety or linebacker near him and it's like he doesn't exist.
Dude, thats right, the Patriots don't know what the hell they are doing! Right? They don't know how to draft and pick up key free agents. Yeah, what was I thinking?????? Duh???
Right. Your not thinking otherwise you'd realize that Lloyd is only productive in a McDaniels based offense. Hence why he was bending over backwards to re-unite with him. You'd also realize that the deals WR's have been getting this offseason are crazy absurd......even for free agency. Teams are going to regret most of these deals in a year or 2. You would also realize that Miami is tough against the cap while trying to fill a lot of holes, and has 2 key players to re-sign soon to big deals in Jake Long and Vontae Davis (although not to the degree of Long). We also have decent $$ contracts tied up in Dansby, Burnett, Bell and Long while having mid tier contracts tied up in Soliai and the new Marshall and possibly in Flynn very soon. Honestly they may still sign a depth veteran WR later on, but chances are this team is going to draft heavily into players that fit what Philbin is looking for. I am fully expecting 2 2nd day WR's in the 2nd and 3rd and a 3rd WR on day 3 (6th or 7th round) plus an undrafted WR or 2. This offense is going to get overhauled in the right way (via the draft)...not by throwing good money after bad.
dude are you smoking crack ? Bess and Hartline are not good recivers no one talks about then and the media ignors them those guys are not good enough. sorry man but if you htink they can win games for us , you may want to watch other teams wrs . I would bet that none of these guys are good enough to start for new england or jetss.
Interesting...complaining that Jeff Ireland doesn't do anything in FA, but assuming Flynn gets signed Miami will have signed 3 of the top 35 best FA's according to this list. Considering there are 32 teams in the NFL to get 3 of the top 37 probably puts Miami in the top 10 of signing FAs and there is still another 14 waiting to be signed. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/03/13/the-free-agent-hot-100/ Players like Marshall, Incognito, Bush, Marshall, Dansby, Burnett all got traded or signed by?
All well and good but we lose our No.1 WR and replace him with......errrr......nope....its not coming. Brian Hartline.......you da man! Can see all the fans buying No.82 jerseys as I speak.
A WR who very well might not be playing half the season this year with a possible suspension. At least we got a couple picks to help in restocking that. Luckily we got 4 early picks (maybe 5 if they trade down a bit) in those first 3 rounds to attack the WR position with in a deep WR draft.
maybe he understands that were in good position for the upcoming draft, that happens to be loaded with wide receiver talent, and that Ireland was probably not responsible for signing a 50 million dollar receiver, but was responsible for ridding himself of the player before the player was going to rid himself of us, with pretty good compensation.
