Great just what we need a distrrcation why cant players just stay out of trouble instead of ruining the great oppertuity that they have playing in the NFL

I think all of the Dolphins' defensive backfield should be investigated for drawing a paycheck under fraudulent circumstances and posing as NFL-caliber players.

We'll see, it is still at the "He Said, He Said" stage, if Bath Bed and Beyond has video cameras in the parking lot, the rubber will meet the road.

Everybody needs to look at two words here: "gambling debts".

Firstly, if he's got gambling debts serious enough to borrow significant amounts of money, alarm bells are going off in my head. Not to mention the characters he could be involved with. And then to have public altercations over it (with guns involved)? Serious red flags.

Secondly, the NFL (and major sports in general) really frown upon gambling. It's one of the big taboos. There's league-issued signage in every NFL locker room warning against it.

Better hope this is all a big misunderstanding.

Seriously though, even without the INTs (which is an established shortcoming), he was quite outstanding last year. Dr. Z even had him as the league's #2 corner last year. Not the guy we want having problems.

    What.

    The.

    ****.

    -sigh-

Well, if this is true Allen won't be long for this team (and may get a league suspension). If Will goes, it just continues the process of washing out previous players and bringing in new ones.

He was one of our best players last year... but last year was a nightmare.

I'm ready for a fresh start.

I don't know how he did it but Will went from a guy who couldn't locate the ball to one who could locate it very well, just not catch it

he might have been the best defensive player out there

Oh gosh, I hope this isn't true. If the Dolphins don't have Allen this season, our secondary would be lost. I hope everything works out in his favor.

Nothing to get upset over yet. If there are further developments or charges are pressed against Allen then we can start jumping off bridges. If Marvin Harrison can get away with shooting a guy shouldn't Will Allen get away with flashing a gun?

Would make more sense for him to be acting as a bookie and trying to collect on money he had out.

Who was the last NFL player with gambling issues? Art Schlichter is the only one I can think of and he had lots of problems.

Makes sense. The full story isn't out yet, I'm holding judgement. It's like the Benson situation, I don't know why people are getting all over him when the rumor has it he was the victim.

Nothing to fear... even if Will Allen was in a gun fight, he wouldn't CATCH any bullets!

    Gambling debts.

    Wonderful.

Jeff Ireland may wish to retract his statement about being happy with the secondary, because we may have just lost the closest thing we have to a star cornerback. I can't imagine Goodell ignoring this if there's even a hint of truth to what we're hearing.

We thought the same about Joey Porter and nothing happened with him. I don't expect to hear much about this in the future. He may get slapped on the wrist, but I doubt he'll be suspended.

I don't know. With Spygate backlash and Pacman's possible reinstatement, Goodell may need a sacrificial goat to show that he's still tough and in charge.

    I hope I'm wrong.

Exact same thing we said about Porter.

I could be wrong, but I think Allen will turn out fine.

its gambling... not assault... that is the difference. Assault is something the NFL can live with, Gambling, particularly on sports (and if he has gambling debts... chances are... it means sports) is something no comissioner takes easily.

Don't forget about Harrison. Goodell would probabally hit him hard like Tank and Pacman. Definately doesn't mean Allen is in good shape but hopefully Marvin's will be resolved first and he can be Goodell's example.
