Uh, rebuilding, that word makes me sick. I would have been happier if we didn't do anything to the roster and went into the this season resigning our free agants, replacing Columbo and JT. Clay amd Moore would have both improved and we make better use of Fasano. I have no doubt we could have gotten ten wins and been a wild card contender. That would have been better than hearing "rebuilding" again.

 

So uhm, how exactly does Soliai help to stop the pass again?

The way the NFL works now is very similar to the CFL, they WANT opponents to run the ball, big plays rarely come from the running game, they come through the air, recall we had the 4th ranked rushing D in 2011, and the 24th ranked d vs the pass, where did that get us?

Oh yeah, that JT guy, he retired, we have no one to replace him.

 

By allowing linebackers to concentrate more on the pass rather than having to worry about the run.

 

They pull him from the field on passing downs, and Lb's cannot cover modern Te's to begin with, that is one of the new wrinkles offenses use, things like this is why I'm a bit piqued over the course of the offseason.

 

Well, it's going to take more than one guy to block him unless that guy is The Incredible Hulk. Which means that outside guys and the other DL have a better chance of defeating one on one blocking OR... you can have this mobile landslide heading for your quarterback's chest.

 

We weren't great to start with and we've gotten worse. That's not a good start to the off-season.

We've added one player, who might be a starting FS or could just be a nickel corner.

In the meantime, we created a huge hole at WR (regardless of whether MArshall had to go or not) which now complicates the use of first round pick even more.

And we still haven't secured an upgrade on QB. We havent actually signed flynn yet and could still screw that one up, meaning we might have to use our first roudner on a QB and then find WR and pass rusher later, while still trying to fill the other holes we already had.

No, on passing plays, you single block him as he is not adept getting up the field, and even with him, wake had 7 sacks, JT 6.

We've been rebuilding since Ireland took over. We're going to have to continue to rebuild because 5 years later, we still have a pathetic roster. Blow for Barkley is in full effect that's for sure.

Actually, rebuilding is an errant term. We are simply still building. Big problem is that we can't figure out how to fit that round peg into that square hole.
