If they want to trade their best Wr fine but they best have a BETTER plan, and I just don't see it...
As dumb as this post is, it proves a point. Our rivals are all thrilled we did this. None of them are saying, "aww damn, their locker room just got hell-strong!" They are skied that the best WR in the AFC East left the conference. 90 balls, 1200 yds, and he left plays on the field too. This is a catastrophe.
Doesn't matter if it's the truth or not. You have to be professional. Would you call a meeting with everyone you work with and start bashing a coworker in front of the entire building for not carrying his weight? No, because it's unprofessional. And Marshall said these things to the media. Can't do it.
If that's all we do then sure. I doubt they're as happy about this as we were when they gave Snachez that contract extensioin though.
Just to clarify, I understand that our offense just took a hit. But I also understand that the team has a plan in place to make up for it.
And forget trading Marshall...fine. But two 3rds, on day 1 of Free Agency? Are you kidding me? If thats not falling on the sword? Back to back 1,000 yd seasons 80+ rec per season. With Matt Moore being the very best he had, throwing to him. This is the true disaster.
They did it early because they want the space cleared up to target other players. I'm sure they tried to get the best deal they could. They wanted to move quickly. We'll soon find out why.
The Dolphins are obviously doing back to there 2009 strategy to eliminate Darrelle Revis: Have all your receivers suck so badly that it does not matter which receiver he takes out of the game. Then throw it over the top to Ted Ginn!
Klis reporting that Manning considered Marshall an asset. I guess we basically just gave him a big middlefinger then eh? Hope our front office enjoys giving Flynn a bigger contract than Manning will get
It's tough for me to think that Ireland would just fire sale Marshall just because. I think there's probably more to this story than any of us have really be lead to believe. Based on what I've seen from Marshall on Twitter, I could easily see a scenario where Marshall sat down with Philbin and/or Ireland and was honest in his desire to go someplace else. If - and that's a bid if - that is the case, then I think we should be thanking the front office for dealing him quietly and getting something for him, rather than waiting for a meltdown from him later next season when he's disgruntled.
Jesus christ, it feels as if Merling has been with the Phins for years and years, and has still made just one play.
So why wait to make the move? Unless you were still free to look for a better deal before you take CHI's. If that's the case and they couldn't get a better offer then wow.
Well now my hopes for the season are absolutely shot. Welcome back to the days with no QB or WR guys. I think it may have a lot to do with salary cap moving forwards, but now even if we get a QB like Flynn we are not putting him in the best position to succeed. We need to make some sort of other move.
That's the media for you now....hardly ever report facts, just opinions. They think they can sell us their crap by saying the magic word, their "source". Their source could be the cashier at the Burger King drive thru.
