The irony. Crowder said Ireland doesn't know what he's talking about and Ireland got us a superbowl win.
Whether you're a fan of Brandon Marshall or not, Ireland is a dope. He's either - a.) a dummy for trading 2 2nd round picks for him; or b.) a dummy for cutting bait after 2 very good seasons for 2 3rd round picks? Take your pick.
Truth often comes in the perspective of other fans. The Ireland fan boys don't want to hear it though.
Glad Im a compulsive gambler and fantasy football "guru"...because these dumbasses have no clue how to put a winner on the field. Irelands OVERDUE firing is rivaling Wanny's day by day.
You don't swap picks. We would have to give up our 8th overall pick. Swapping picks makes no sense. What about a blind squirrel?
We better have something up our sleeve because this trade comes as a total shock to me. Why would we trade our best offensive player? Like I said...We better be getting something more out of this than 2 third round picks. I'm not saying it's a bad deal but I really hope we have something else cooking.
Watching NFL Network all afternoon and have seen Darlington mention on more than one occasion how Marshall ruffled the feathers of the organization for how he treated our QBs & acted in general ... sounds like he had worn out his welcome here. I am not trying to justify the trade ... just throwing that out there as one of the reasons they made this move. I still feel like we undersold him. I'd have rather gotten a 2nd round pick this year and a lessor pick next year than two 3rds.
The problem with this trade is that I do not think anyone has ever actually witnessed a blind squirrel finding a nut. If blind squirrel = Jeff Ireland, well, I think we're screwed. I would like to defend him, and I am sure he is trying his best to bring a winning franchise to Miami, but maybe his best just isn't good enough..... I am disappointed in this trade in that only it takes away a legitimate superstar (and he is, regardless of stats) off of the team, which will inevitably separate the fanbase from the organization even more so given the organization's current situation. This smells of "Rebuilding 101". I hope I am wrong. Jeffy gave the Bears a solid, given that was his childhood team. This has "sentimental trade" written all over it. He was living in the past, hashing up memories of bringing the balls back to the coaches (he was a Bears ballboy, remember?). Except this time, he was bringing back Marshall's dropped balls to the Bears coaching staff. Okay, maybe not, but I am still a little pissed because Marshall was growing on me like a cancer. Probably isn't a good analogy. Anyway, let's see what happens. Let's hope Blackmon's mom didn't try her hand at one of the oldest professions known to mankind.
Just spoke to a friend of mine who is a big Bears fan and he's not happy at all. Said he would have traded a third but not two thirds. Knows all about Marshall and what he is not. Said sure he has great talent but doesn't use it. He is worried about the locker room with BM in it.
So it says here your mother was a pharmacist... Does that mean like street pharmacist? Was she a crack head? Are you a crackhead?
He used it with Cutler before. Difference between his Broncos team and Miami? A QB of Cutler's ability. We finally decide that investing in a QB may be worthwhile, then trade away his best potential target. Any Bears fan upset with this trade are morons. A pair third rounders for a pro bowl wideout? That's highway robbery.
He was a malcontent. The fact that two seconds became two thirds given his performance and the other baggage he has seems like we did okay there.
I'm not even pro Marshall one way or the other. I don't remember him causing major locker room issues. Period. Outside of the lockeroom on his personal life maybe. But that's it........ Edit, I live in bucs country. Ask them about lockeroom drama and they'd call bm an amateur
Threatening to take your helmet off during a game...I'd say that's an issue. Especially when stupid actions would affect the other 52 people who are ready to kick your @ss in the locker room after.
I remember seeing something late last season/earlier this offseason where Marshall had been an absolute cancer but Miami, true to form, kept it under wraps. Still hate we couldn't get more for him.
None of us were in that locker room so no one really knows. I was merely passing along my Bears friend's thoughts
Now that he is gone, people will start throwing around the C word to attempt to justify this trade. As I've said in another thread, his performance in Chicago will be the ultimate determination for this trade.
Cancer seems harsh. I think malcontent is about right. He clearly wasn't enjoying himself once the team started badly last year and made his displeasure known with immaturity like the Twitter lovefest with Cutler I remember hearing about. He might be better off for leaving Miami, but I am certain Miami is better off for getting him out of town.
And the cuteness in the Bears game in 2010. Throwing the ball at Cutler in laughter. Not funny at all. Douchey move. In all fairness though we probably all realized Marshall cleaned himself up on the field last season.
Yeah well your friends in the minority http://www.dabears.com/chicago_bears/40913-bears_trade_brandon_marshall.html
Exactly just how I pictured it. Thanks for that post. One of the bears fans peepeed themself supposedly.
I don't doubt he will. Fact remains he didn't do that here. Since he didn't do that here for two years, there's no reason to think he would been better for us this year or next. As far as production for Dolphins go, BMarsh was all potential and not much actual production. I'm not knocking the guy or anything, its just that while here he did not live up to his potential.
I agree. He is a bit of a moron but when it comes to the Bears he knows his ****. He will be a pain in my *** tomorrow and flip flop on the deal.
I'm irked because we traded away a superstar player for draft picks, and i'm also upset because Marshall really wasn't a problem here in Miami. At the end of the day i'm upset at the moment but i'm going to reserve judgement until I see what the return is on this trade. Two third round picks are pretty valuable unless Miami is drafting right? BTW do we get both these picks this year or only one?
