Does anyone have any actual verification on wether or not the phins have a scheduled meeting? Or is he just in town to hang at the condo?

Yes and thats only because half the spring training is in AZ. Thats the whole joke there. Is there an actual fan base when they dont even have a reporter following them?

it says on this site that manning is expected to meet with the dolphins but all reports are based on speculation. I keep hearing that he's either meeting with the dolphins or he's just going to his home in Miami. I wish we had something more concrete. I'm sure he will meet with the dolphins though.

Well now the ball it's in the hands of our Dynamic Duo and I hope they do a good job presenting the Miami Dolphins in the best way possible, to persuade Manning to sign with us.

    Here and there
You're right i dont have concrete evedence but I do have common sense. Those franchises are pursuing Manning because they beleive he is a far better option than what they currently have in place. I beleive Manning is a class act as well, but if he was so concerned about replacing the current QB then why show up for the meeting at all? Leverage? i doubt it. He will go to the best fit for him, QB situation has zero to do with it.. there are other reasons he may not sign with a team but i seriously doubt QB situation is one of them. I like poker too.

At this point I am totally neutral on signing Manning. If we sign him, I worry we won't draft a solid QB that can train under Peyton and be ready to roll when #18 leaves, a-la Favre/Rodgers. If we don't sign Manning I can't see how we don't take a QB at #8 - likely Tennehill, or maybe trade down & get Weeden. Option c is sign Flynn, who is also a solid fit as he knows the offense we'll likely be running and Philbin has a good handle on Flynn's capabilities.

If we Do land Manning, AND we are smart enough to still draft his future replacement (Tannehill, Weeden would be WAY too old when Manning retires), then I will be totally stoked, we would pretty much be an instant contender to do some serious damage in the playoffs and what better example/tudor/mentor could we get for Tannehill?

Totally agree but I have heard word that Archie is pulling the strings. An I have no confidence he wouldnt bend over a franchise...he has before!

I would think that Coach Philbin would be more likely to impress or not than what the FO has to say. Sounds like Manning has been around the organization enough to it a bit.

According to this recent ESPN article Manning doesn't have an official visit set with the Dolphins:

Manning has no firm visits planned with other teams but could talk independently with other coaches, such as Joe Philbin of the Miami Dolphins, sources said. However, after two physically and emotionally draining weeks that included extensive workouts, and his break-up with the Colts on Wednesday that commenced interaction with many of the 12 teams that have contacted him, the quarterback was anxious to get some rest and return to his rehab and throwing regimen. He also is due for his monthly medical exam related to his neck surgeries though he has had no setbacks, per sources.

    http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/7...rizona-cardinals-sources-say-no-contract-talk

Sounds like Miami either wasn't "all in" as reported or Peyton doesn't think Miami is as good a fit as many fans think he is.

Dont necessarliy agree although I saw this info since my question. lol. If he was serious about both teams and wanted to decide by tuesday I would think they would have had some sort of contract talks in Den or Az. Although it is baffeling that there is no confirmation of any official visit still in Mia. My fear continues to be any presence of Papa Manning!

Now they say he did not negotiate a contract with den or az. Might not decide on Tuesday. Who knows, time to just stop believing the media. Take everything with a grain of salt.

Interesting...I see it completely differently. I think if Miami signs Manning then they can't afford to spend the #8 pick on a QB. That pick would probably go to either the OL (Reiff or Decastro) in order to protect Manning or to select best available pass rusher since cap space will likely be exhausted by signing Manning and bringing in a buddy or two.

If Miami signs Flynn then I also don't see how they spend the #8 pick on a QB/Tannehill since Flynn is only 26. They are in a sense saying he is the guy. I could see Weeden or best available in round 4 if he lasts that long or perhaps Kellen Moore in the 6th.

The only way I see Miami spending #8 on Tannehill, I don't think there is another QB they would spend the #8 on since Luck and RG3 long gone, is if they aren't able to sign either Manning or Flynn.

In other words, signing Manning or Flynn, Tannehill becomes a luxury pick which Miami can't afford. Not signing Manning or Flynn, Tannehill becomes a necessity imo.

Yep looks like its going to be Denver and Miami isn't going to get a visit with him. If i was talking to Peyton id say you might want to move your condo as some fans are going to be upset m sure.

PS this also Is the 3rd major slap in the face for the front office in less than two years. Ross needs to sell the damn team now he's clueless and totally incompetent in getting any deals done. How the hell he is a sucessful business man is beyond me, everything he touches here ends up in a pile of ****.

Of course if we get a meeting with Peyton and sign I'm all I said above is null and void. sadly I don't think I will have that chance to be wrong.

Rather than another predictable, knee jerk reaction, have you pondered the possibility that Miami simply wasn't that interested?? I know it would be shocking for you to admit the sky isn't falling but it is possible. Maybe Philbin is sold on Flynn?

As for the other two "slaps" do you read Espn? Did you happen to catch the bounty the Rams collected a few days ago? Didn't think so, otherwise something called logic would slap you in the face when you realize that Fisher not only has a franchise QB but also has the best draft positioning for the next three years. Why do that when you can simplify it by hating Ross??

Yes I did think that and mentioned it two days ago as a philbin smokescreen in order to get people off Flynn. I mean if the fins arent interested in Flynn than whoa that means he must not be that good. Since philbin k ows him well. Could all be about driving down the cost of Flynn.
