    1. It's confirmed there are helicopters following him in Denver right now. Guess he's not signing there according to ESPN. ESPN was actually showing it, like OJ Simpson.

    2. Volin says Ross is flying to Miami right now. Needs all the preparation for Sunday he can get.

I think it would be a very good idea to include Philbin on the meeting.

Even if I were 100% on board with bringing in Manning, I would rather see him go to Denver and lose to us in the AFC Championship but have played well enough to win the game. Yeah, that's how much I can't stand Tebow-mania.

Ross needs very badly to nail this one. If he doesn't there will be serious questions about whether he is capable of convincing any top FA/coaches/whoevers to come to Miami.

Agreed. But, it sounds like Ross better do a real sell job on him first. Maybe something like this:

Ross: I want Peyton Manning. I know you're not as keen on the idea. But, it's my decision, and if I can get him to agree, it's a done deal.
Philbin: But, that's not what we discussed when I agreed to take this job.

Ross: I know, but things have changed. Regardless, your job is safe. Win or lose, as long as Peyton is here, you and your staff are exempt from being fired. Unless of course you do something really stupid, like bench Peyton.
    Philbin: And, after Peyton retires?

Ross: Then, we go back to our original agreement, no more free pass. Until then, enjoy the ride.
Philbin: You know, I think Peyton would be a great asset to this franchise.

Ross: Please close the door on your way out.

As warm as this winter has been in the United States this year, perhaps it is Hell that has frozen over these past few months.

You can always tell Hell hasn't frozen yet since the Bills didn't win the Superbowl.

    Colorado Dolfan ...dirty drownin' man?

As a father of two girls, I can answer: Yes, XS and S.

I hope the delusional Broncos fans get their wish. On a poll from one of the news sites here in Colorado, Tebow as starter is beating out Manning handily. :knucks:

Tebowmania may very well be the reason they don't get him...

Totally agree with this article as a Colorado resident: http://nfl.si.com/2012/03/08/tim-te...cos-chances-at-peyton-manning/?sct=nfl_t11_a0

Just saw an update on the NFLN, and watching Manning with Elway and Company made me feel like a jealous lover. It was kinda like I was spying on my girl, that I suspected of cheating.

Not that I've ever done that mind you. :shifty:

It makes perfect sense to dump Tebow. The fans of Broncos are far more concerned with winning than they are with hurting Tebow's feelings. The Denver stadium is sold out every week and signing Manning and dumping Tebow is certainly not going to reduce the number of football fans in Denver who attend games.

The reality is that the Broncos are not going to be winning any Super Bowls with Tebow. Manning, even after four operations on his neck is still so much better than Tebow, it isn't even funny. Also Elway would love to replace Tebow at QB, and I just don't see the true fans of the Broncos being upset with Manning being their starting QB over Tebow.

Perhaps the Broncos could trade Tebow and some other NFL team would offer them a fourth or fifth round pick for him. That is about all he is really worth.

alright so nfl.com has rankings of the team most likely who will get Manning and dolphins dropped down to 3rd behind Cardinals and Broncos. I for one am deeply worried that Ross will screw this up. Here is what the latest news of it says
Latest news: The Miami Dolphins still feel confident they will get their meeting with Peyton Manning, but they have not yet firmed up a meeting time, team sources told Jeff Darlington on Friday.

Also he is expected to meet with the Cardinals after the Broncos

It doesn't make too much sense for him to go to Denver, imo. Regardless of that playoff win, Denver's offence is the worse out of all his suitors; and even though their defense is very high on a lot of analyst's mind, they had a number of games where they got really torched. Denver is probably the least talented team vying for his services. Also the prospect of dethroning Tebow has to be daunting, even for Peyton.

That's what I was thinking. Only Demaryius Thomas was very, very impressive, and maybe Peyton could revive Eddie Royal's career.

Correction: Eddie Royal is a free agent.

My problem with that theory is Peyton knows he can just about ask for anything just short of ridiculous and he will most likely get it, Ross is salivating at the mouth to sign Manning, he don't need anyone to drive up the price.

One hope of mine is since Marino was his idol maybe he was a Dolphins fan too growing up and maybe that sentiment will play a part.

If he wants the Dolphins to also sign Reggie, one or both needs to take a paycut.

Rumors flying out of Denver that Manning is going to the Nuggets game tonight, if true nothing would be better if the fans start chanting Tebow's name.

He might look like a horse, but he was one hell of an NFL QB. I wouldn't care if the Dolphins had a QB that looked like a jackass, if he could play like Elway did during his playing days.

Not good news at all, if Peyton was more leaning towards us why would he want to continue to meet with the Broncos? I think Elway is making great leeway as I feared, if not he be on the plane tonight or tomorrow morning, not sticking around Denver to talk more. UGH.
