HAHA....like there wouldn't be a media circus anywhere?! Imagine Denver with all the Tebow-maniacs.

This is ESPN Bulls**t. People criticize Miami for showing up late to games and not caring about sports that much, then say it's too big of a media circus, and too "scary"? They probably have nothing to report so they need to come up with something for people to read.

Don't forget Manning is a country boy who played in a small market in Indy. You chase the guy around with helicopters it just might spook him.
I know you are pissed at the report because you want him that bad but it is truly feasible he gets pissed and runs the hell away.

    My ***.

Peyton has done more commercials and more publicity than probably any other football player ever.

This is a stupid story and the only people showing bias are the ones that buy it, because it coincides with their eternal pessimism.

He wont get media attention in Denver or Kansas City? He's done commercials for tons of companies, like ads for Oreo with the Williams sisters. Odd if he doesn't like attention. It's like a celebrity saying they don't like paparazzi yet they live in LA and walk around all the hot-spots. Not everything ESPN says is true.

He could play in New York, the biggest market and city, and live in the sticks of New Jersey and be away from it all. He's not going to live in downtown Miami and walk around south beach. I don't care where he goes, the cameras will follow, and then they will die down.

If he goes to another team, it will probably be because they gave a better offer and a better pitch than Ross and Ireland. Not because a helicopter chased him on Wednesday.

    You have to remember.......

New York, Chicago, Boston....... these cities have been around for 100+ years. They are well represented in the national media because so many reporters are from there.

Miami? We only came to prominence in the 70's? maybe 80's? Most of our population is transplants from Cuba and other states..... we don't have many homegrown talent mixed into the media web, all the talking heads on ESPN and other places.

So of course, we are hated....

BTW, WFAN is saying he is meeting with John Elway and the Broncos tonight in Denver according to Denver Post. Also says he will visit Arizona and Miami to meet with Dolphins.

Denver Post says Broncos, Cardinals and Dolphins are the only confirmed stops as of now.

Francesca thinks Texans would be the only team that makes more sense than Dolphins if they showed interest which they haven't and probably won't. Just his personal opinion.

Broncos are still 18-1 in Vegas to land Manning. Look for that to drop soon.

There is obviously media bias against Miami. This was shown when LeBron decided to come to Miami and turned down offers from New York and Chicago. I will guarantee you that if he had picked one of these teams instead of the Heat, there would not have been all the negative press toward him. The media in these cities just can't seem to understand why a player would choose Miami over their cities.

I have no idea if Manning will decide on Miami or somewhere else, but if he does pick the Dolphins, you can bet that the media people in the other large cities will question his decision. Especially if he should pick Miami over the Jets or Texans. The media in cities like New York, Boston, and Chicago have always viewed Miami and all of Florida as nothing but a place to take a vacation, and not as a serious sports area.
They only change their view when it is time for them to retire and then Florida doesn't seem so minor league to them, as they pack up their belonging and move on down.

So according to the Denver Post, apparently he meets with Denver tonight, then I assume he will fly to Arizona since its close? Which means he'll meet with Miami last...good thing?

I'm worried about Ross and Ireland. Oh well...

I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't nervous with the contrast....

but really..can the Broncos and Cardinal front office and ownership make us look that bad? I doubt it. Still ours to **** up.

They OBVIOUSLY want him..now if they don;t get him, you really have to just give up on this regime and hope for dumb luck to change our fortunes.

Read this on the Sentinal, Peyton Manning will visit John Elway and the Denver Broncos tonight in Colorado, according to a report on DenverPost.com.

The website sites “two NFL sources” with the information. The report says according to one source, Manning will also visit the Arizona Cardinals and the Miami Dolphins.

I am not worried about the Broncos and Cardinals front office making us look bad. It appears to me that the Dolphins front office does a pretty good job of making itself look bad, without any competition from another organization. You should be more concerned with Ross and Ireland and less with how other front offices look in the Manning sweepstakes.

Well, they should have Riley there anyway because he is Riley.

If I'm Ross, I at the very least have Marino at the meeting whenever it happens. Shula too if at all possible. Definitely have to roll out the red carpet and do a lot of schmoozing IMHO.

Any thoughts on what those "circumstances" might be?

Marino, Shula, the whole cheerleader squad, a live dolphin doing tricks on arrival, a dumpster truck full of $50 bills, do it all, throw everything at it.

I have a feeling Manning is slipping away, momentum seems to be with Arizona right now, we have to hope he doesn't say yes to Denver or Arizona before he gets here.

If you look at this logically, it sets up perfect for Miami. Peyton heads to Denver, then AZ, then back to Miami where he (presumably) signs.

    Jay Glazer w Mike Francesa:

    to paraphrase:

Will probably come down to Miami and Denver. Arizona being the wildcard, but still believes it's either Miami or Denver. Miami extremely attractive an option. Great offensive coach in Philbin who would love to have him contrary to false rumors of Philbin not wanting him. Philbin is the type of coach that could work with anyone and get the best out of them.

Contrary to what many believe: Miami is NOT the only team that would be willing to sign him without seeing him throw. In fact Denver ideally would love to have Manning signed tonight before he leaves. He may not throw for any teams that he meets with but will certainly get offers.

I would say the circumstances are named Ross and Ireland. I just don't think these two have what it takes to close the deal. Everyone on here says that Miami is an up and coming team with a good defense and a better O-line than the teams being mentioned. The weather in Miami is perfect during football season. Manning and his wife have a second home in Miami and seem to like the area. Ross has been reported to be willing to pay Manning the most money.

So with all the positives the Miami area and the team seem to have, why wouldn't Manning want to come here? If he doesn't sign with the Dolphins, I will definitely place the blame on Ross and Ireland and their ability to close yet another deal. If Manning signs with the Dolphins, I will be the first person to apologize to these two men for doubting them, but I see no other reason for Manning to choose teams such as the Chiefs, Broncos, or Cardinals , over the Dolphins unless he just doesn't want to play for a team owned by Ross or a team with a Ireland as the teams GM.

Just a coupe more quotes of interest.

Way I see visit order he is going from west to east, then meeting with Miami to sit at his winter home and contemplate his decision. So not a bad thing plus we have a chance to pitch last and offer possibly more. I am not going to stress it until after sunday.

This may sound crazy, but does the altitude in Denver at all help Manning? In other words, would it be easier for him to throw deep and/or with velocity in thinner air? Any meteorologists in the house?
