I prefer to think of it more like the Miami Heat 2010 offseason thread.

    We waived Feinga again?

Anyway, it's not the same. Manning does not need to clear waivers. He was cut not waived.

I hope he goes and every single Miami Heat player walks up to him and shakes his hand, and they award him our NBA finals trophy. It's okay because we are going to be winning some replacements soon

Signing Manning is risky but you can't pass up the chance to get a QB of his stature, we are talking about one of the all-time greats, even if he is 36.

Well the second part was more a fantasy than something that could ever happen lol.

Could you imagine if Manning held a press conference and said those same words. "I'm taking my talents to South Beach" everyone would flip ****.

he seemed amused that everybody was freaking out. he then answered some general questions, and said "I haven't given it much thought of what team's want me..." with a big grin on his face.

Bob Kravitz on LeBatard Show just now: "If I had to guess, he will be wearing Aqua (Miami Dolphin) to start the season next year."

Also says that he thinks Him and Reggie Wayne are a package deal, and that Reggie told him that Peyton is throwing as hard as ever. "He is slingin' it now".

the two have worked out recently together.

Kravitz: "I am told that when the nerve regenerates, that ALL of his arm strength returns, and a slight increase in arm strength can occur."

the game is tonight, but I doubt it...that would turn into a circus. Peyton Manning doesn't strike me as a "circus guy".

No doubt, he has to know the crowd would be chanting his name with pleas to come here, I think it would be uncomfortable for him.

But if he does go, that would have to be a good sign for us.

I have made it known Im against Peyton coming here only due to the high risk nature of his injury and our franchise's recent history of screwing everything up.

But I admit, it would be very, very, very exciting to see my favorite QB of this era, who like me grew up idolizing Dan Marino, wearing aqua and orange. I may be against this move, but Ill be damned if I said I wasn't excited about this. Then adding Reggie Wayne? That would be pretty freakin' awesome.

That said, I still think Flynn would be the better route, but alas its looking like Peyton is coming here and Flynn will likely go to Seattle.

I'm not against it but I fist pumped you because I think it's a really insightful post. I think we all know the risk/reward to the move, but in the end the reward is so high and the risk is just staying in the same place we are right now a few seasons. I'm okay with that.

Is it wrong of me to say reading that just gave me an erection? I mean signing Peyton alone would be a dream come true. But, to get Wayne thrown in just makes it a win/win IMHO. Hell, sign Saturday while you're at it.

The risk is losing on Matt Flynn, who could be a much better option.

Again, please (and this is a serious question) tell me how you think Flynn might be a better option? Because he's younger? Because he's stronger? What is it about Flynn that has people ready to throw big bucks his way. The guy has started 21 games since 2004. He was a 7th round draft pick for a reason, for christ sake he coulednt beat JaMarcus the Hut out at LSU.....Just because he was tutored by Aaron Rodgers means nothing, just ask Curtis Painter or Jim Sorgi.

Yeah I watched some of the highlights from his "great game" again. Don't get me wrong it was a great game. However a lot of the throws were to WIDE OPEN receivers, and at least a few were not very well placed passes that the corners just completely misplayed.

Spectacular overall game that day but I just don't see the long term.

He is younger, he has proven he can play, and the system that he excelled in is in Miami now. Philbin is the new HC of the Dolphins, in case you missed it. Peyton Manning is 36, has a very bad injury, and will likely change the entire culture of this team if signed.
