Quite an unexpected ending to tonight's episode. Spoiler I didnt' predict Dale getting killed, he'd been a main character and important part of the group since the beginning. I'm interested to see how things go with everybody now on next week's episode. Only two left this season.
yeah... that caught me by surprise. Sad... Just as an aside... I'm a parent, I got two kids, if I were in their position I'd want to know where my kids were at ALL FRIGGIN TIMES! Stupid Olive Oil... she knows they are about to execute someone, so does she keep an eye on her son? No, she lets him follow them into the barn. Dumb ****... And now this one wants to bring another one into this world. Man, her character bugs the **** out of me.
Yeah, their kid Carl doesn't listen too good does he? And he's the reason the ending happened in the first place.
My thoughts Spoiler Dale has long represented the conscience of the group, obvious especially in this weeks episode. Perhaps this is symbolic of the group losing that conscience. It's a shame, because this was the best episode for Dale in a while.
It's never been more work to watch a show lol Rick's wife and kid are absolutely brutal any time they're on screen. After you know who goes, I'm done with this mess.
You havent read the spoilers for the season finale have you????? Link to Spoiler http://www.shocktillyoudrop.com/news/165971-the-walking-dead-season-2-spoiler-season-3-chatter#.T1A6Na65oGo.facebook
No I don't read any spoilers, I just watch the show. It ruins it if you read it before, and there's no sense to read them after you watch it. And so far, I'm left with a reason to watch every week and a 'wtf' at the end of every show. So I'll leave it at that. I'm glad to be in the dark for every episode.
Spoiler I think it will reinforce the conscience of the group actually. Dale is now martyred, and that will carry them and their actions, IMO. It will also further splinter Shane from the group too.
I've been rooting for them to die since the first episode. That kid will go down as a colossal casting error. Plus, I think the zombie thing has a short shelf life. 100 minute movie, 5 hour video game, fine, but then who cares about zombies. There was never really a show about zombies, and I could see why the hype came out. But I agree. I see Walking Dead in my recorded list, and its bordering on a chore. They completely missed one huge element. There should be an element of fun in any zombie entertainment. This show is no fun.
Spoiler and why are zombies weak enough for women and children to fight off forever, until a buddy comes along and stabs their brain....yet strong enough to gut a man with its bare hands?
Spoiler The same zombie that was so strong it got stuck in mud earlier It's just the writing man, it's absolutely brutal.
Agree that Carl and Rick's wife are early frontrunners for worst characters on TV of 2012. Spoiler Dale's death was much cooler in the books. I never thought a show with zombies in it could ever try my patience like this show does. Spoiler Please please please, let Rick's wife face a similar ending as in the books. Speaking of the books, will Carl be the one to off Shane? Hard to say with how they've handled Sophia and Dale. Just not sure what kind of legs this show has. It needs to be more about the zombies and less about these terrible characters. How awkward is the black guy who just shows up for half a scene every other episode and doesn't talk?
Spoiler even more perplexing that it wasn't strong enough to get out of mud, or hang on to a 50 lb boy.
Damn, that was a wild ending this week. A bit confused though Spoiler as to how the guy Shane killed, and Shane, turned into 'walkers' with no bites. I was expecting Shane to stick around for awhile, although he might be back next season in flashbacks sequences. Looks like the last episode is going to be really good.
One giant facepalm for that entire episode. Just when you think the writing can't get worse lol Yikes.
Obviously one doesn't need to be bitten or scratched to turn. Did you think every walker that has existed on the show thus far had been?
I wanted to see if it'd turn around and if/how they'd do what they did tonight. I'm pretty happy to have no reason to watch it any more to be honest. Can't say I've ever stopped watching a series the episode before a season finale. Daryl being the only interesting character and Andrea being hot are the only likable things about it now. Not enough to sit through the other 50 mins of bad writing.
Yeah, that's what the characters look for and I kinda figured that's what turned you. But, apparently not.
Spoiler As much as Shane was psycho and what not I considered him the most interesting character on the show and I don't think it'll be the same without him.
My exact thought. I'm 3 hours ahead and saw this thread was updated a couple hours ago and was like oooh not yet haha
Why are we using spoiler tags in here then? I saw the episode, just saying for other people. And especially those who read the books/comics, and know whats supposed to happen.
Spoiler and does anyone know why shane turned yet? some sites mentioned that its "airborne" and everyone is the walking dead, and they will all turn if they die. kinda thin but...hopefully it gets explained. also, was the walker they killed the prisoner kid? or a random walker? i couldn't tell, and admittedly, as when i always watch, was only half watching and doing other things
I'm not going to use spoiler tags to discuss tonight's episode... so if you haven't watched it yet, don't read this... it's pretty clear to me that they are all "infected" and that when they die they become walkers (unless they are shot in the head, a la Dale). This is not your typical zombie flick, where bites usually do it. It's obviously airborne. The writing tonight was pretty cool though. If you weren't paying full attention you might have thought that Shane was in the process of turning when he was still alive, like when he slapped his head in the barn before he walked the prisoner out of there. Or when he smacked his head into the tree on purpose. Those things were just Shane covering his tracks. Although, I go back to season one, first episode when Rick is in the house of the father and his son and they tell him about the story of his wife/mother. Wasn't she bitten, and they watched her turn? A little bit of an inconsistency there. Another theory, besides it being airborne... could be the meat on the farm was infected before it was eaten by the group and that's how they were "infected" themselves. When Shane was lying there dead before he came back, they were showing what appeared to be some type of animal eating another animal? That might be some type of clue...
Spoiler My roommate said when one dies and isn't shot in the head yet turns to a zombie quickly it has something to do with the zombie virus mutating. I liked tonight's episode personally; still sucks that Dale died.
One thing I'd completely forgotten about was when Rick & Shane took the kid to the school to let him go a couple episodes ago, they killed two walkers who used to be cops and commented that neither had bites or scratches on them.
yeah my wife reminded me of that just now. I do remember them talking about that at the time. Yet, pushed it to the back of my mind as erroneous. woops.
