Hell, he never got it as bad as Cam Newton on this board, and we weren't even in position to draft him.

I blame Brandon Marshall for all of Henne's failures.

Still looking for this significant improvement. He had some improvement but still wasn't good enough. Had one game with amazing stats against the WORST passing defense in the league in the first week where every defense let up amazing passing numbers, then after that looked like normal Henne.

I do love how some people love to make all the excuses for Henne, however for Moore doesn't get the benefit. Even though Moore played much better after the first three games.

Plus if Henne was worth bringing back it wouldn't matter what fans think. Fans would love to cheer a good Chad Henne. I know I would love to cheer a good Chad Henne. Unfortuantely I didn't have much to cheer for.

Plus it is laughable to even suggest that Henne was clearly the best player in a Dolphin uniform when he played.

Can we PLEASE finally put Henne on the useless UM QB heap?

I hope the next one doesn't go on the list. I am sick of it getting bigger.

Honestly, the problem I had was in the manner it was done. There's a different connotation to "lol. Todd kept supporting Henne but I made 'x' wager and blah blah blah" vs. Todd was on his jock blah blah blah. It's just as obnoxious as he felt TP was.

The next UM QB is shoelaces....guaranteed that dude is getting the Brad Smith treatment in the NFL, IMO. But to your point about Miami QB to the scrap heap, I totally agree. I think it would be prudent for the FO to take a guy like a Tannehill or Wilson, let them sit behind Matt Moore and then after 3 years, turn them loose.

Personally, I felt Henne had shown he can play in this league. He'll be in the top half of the QBs...he'll be better than the Flacco's and the Sanchez's etc. He'll be given a chance somewhere. Unfortunately being hand cuffed in Hennings offence then only 3 games under Daboll's he couldn't show that he could be more. I hope he starts somewhere and takes his team to the play offs.

100% my thoughts. Henne has the talent to become an elite NFL quaterback, however I never saw the desire in his motions or eyes like you do with the good ones. Pennington, Marino, Elway, Montanna, Manning, and even Brady all of these guys related to me because you knew and saw it on the field the passion to win. They would get in players faces at times and say hey do this right, or they would build up a team when they needed that final drive.

Henne NEVER showed me that heart. He would be laughing on the sideline, ho humming it in the huddle like our old coach. I will give players and coaches a ton of slack if I feel they are trying and show some emotion. Henne just doesn't have that mentality.

It also tells me that the front office already has a plan for a QB. They have decided to draft or pick one up in free-agency (which we knew) but this clearly means someone new is coming in and not we will see in camp...

Good smart move, Miami has a tradition and it's time players who represent us have the desire to win and do whatever it takes. Miami isn't just place to party we ARE a premier football town thats just lost it's way..

No, he wasn't. Henne was not a better QB than Jake Long is an LT; Dansby is an LB; Marshall is a WR; and so on. To call Henne the best player on the Dolphins at any point of his four year career here is to throw every legitimate talent on the roster under the bus for the sake of fandom.

Oh, really? The deck was stacked against Henne? Is that why Parcells stated Henne was going to start in 2008 before Pennington hit free agency? Is that why the Dolphins kept throwing millions of dollars at the offensive line to keep him upright? Is that why the team spent two 2nd round picks and $40 million on the wide receiver Henne publicly stated he wanted to throw to?

Henne was given every opportunity to succeed, in fact far more than many other QBs are given. He failed. This is his own fault, no one else's.

So loyal that you bashed and placed blame on anyone but Henne, the young and still developing Qb!

Hardly any of the fanbase can say that either....lmao

The problem with that is? That hardly anyone was NOT loyal to Chad Henne! Everyone wanted him to do well. Almost everyone knew the offense was part of the problem with the Dolphins but some refused to place any blame on Henne because he was supposed to be developing. Developing a position he played almost his entire life...

Oh man..I've seen this before, separation anxiety, when you cared about someone so much the thought of them leaving is hard to deal with no matter what they've done.

Fellas, it will be okay, Chad is a big boy, he's made millions in the NFL there will be other Qb's..honest...and they will make you forget all about Chad Henne..promise.

Chad Henne was the second coming of Marc Bulger in Bulgers last few years. Henne, IMO, is not a QB that you can build a team around.

To be honest I wouldn't mind Henne coming back another season if Miami didn't already have Matt Moore. Matt Moore having the advantage of being a better quarterback and already under contract.

"We want Orton" at a night scrimmage at the Stadium.
    That was pretty bad.
    Over an inc pass.
Remember the preseason Fasano drop thread. Two inches behind him.
Football micrometers were out. Henne's fault.

Basically, fans wanted his replacemant because he was a bad QB. Maybe some fans did over exaggerate it sometimes, but it still wasn't as bad as you make it seem. He did have a chance in Miami with this fan base. He just wasn't good, so the fans wanted him gone. That's pretty common around the league.

Report: Miami won't keep Chad Henne

As most of us had imagined, looks like it's officially the end of the Henne era. Looks like Matt Moore will be the starter and we'll groom a qb IMO.

Wouldn't be surprised to see him switch places with Flynn......

I like Henne, he's a solid NFL backup at least, he has a place in the NFL, its just hard to keep a guy like him here in Miami where the fans are one INT away from throwing him under the bus.

When he was drafted the fan base was excited because he was a young guy with a big arm from a power University. He had a lot more starts then the average QB coming from college. The entire fan base was excited for a new beginning. After a few games, the excitement started to change to worry because of many things. staring down his receivers, being inaccurate on long throws, etc... There is only so much a fan can take. I never bought the argument that it was Henning because Henning has had alot of success in his offence. Could Sparano handled Henne differently and groom him better? Certainly. But the bottom line is for the player to have the desire to get better and if the coaching staff can't do it, you find another way to become better.

I personally think because of his lack of mobility in the popcket and staring down the receivers, he will never make it in the NFL. The DL, CBs and Safeties are too fast for him here.
