Cool to have it confirmed if so. I found it interesting that Coyle was his own negotiator during talks.
Well, to me, this is the final nail in the parcellian coffin, it looks like Kacy Rodgers and Darren Rizzi are the only two to survive the change over, which means it failed. I hope Todd Bowles lands on his feet somewhere, I thought he did a good job as interim HC and seemed like a classy gentleman
Here is more confirmation: http://www.miamiherald.com/2012/01/26/2610445/miami-dolphins-set-to-hire-sherman.html
Errrr ... maybe Odtick email was just Philbin introduction of himself. No confusion from host about team announcement of coordinators though. Sherman/Coyle was team announcement.
Sherman, Coyle, and keeping Rizzi, who did a tremendous job turning around the Special Teams unit. Joe Philbin's coaching staff is coming together quite nicely.
I'm not a drum beater for P. Manning but I googled Tannehill and went to images and on the 3rd page there is a picture of the Dolphins logo above Manning throwing a nerf football and they were surrounded my Tannehill pictures. Hmmm lol
Sounds like when Parcells came here...I'm going to reserve judgement until we see something of substance. I still remain cautiously optimistic. Excited to see some change though, the possibility of becoming a really good team is there.....now lets see it happen.
Coyle's pic is deceiving. Saw him on Hard Knocks from 2009, and he is a really skinny guy of about medium height. In person a comparison between he and Tony would be the farthest thing from your mind.
I'm happy with these signings. I was not happy when we hired Parcells. Hopefully they produce better and long-term results.
Wait, I thought Ireland only hired Philbin on the condition that he would keep Bowles, be his own personal yes man, and wash his car every 2 weeks. Are you telling me that Mando reported pure garbage and several people bought into the conspiracy theory? Shocking.
I don't know enough about Coyle, but Sherman should be a good hire. Only question with sherman is, how long will he be here? If he turns the offense into a point scoring machine he"ll be a hot head coach candidate next year.
drafting Tannehill and having him ready to take over in a year or two isn't a bad plan, if Sherman gives him the thumbs up as a NFL Qb we should be in a good position to draft him. Not a bad plan at the Qb position if you asked me.
Who cares? Coach Joe will be making the gameplans, like he did in GB. With him making the gameplans, the worst OC in the league can call the plays with excellent results, as proven by McCarthy.
Where the hell were you when this site just started and I was getting killed daily for a month because I was like one of a tiny handful people not happy about Parcells? I...I....I needed you....
Well, official isn't the word I'd use until it's announced by the Fins today.... The article says "set to announce" the hirings... But I like the Sherman hiring. That is someone who will set up the offense that Philbin wants to run allowing him time to run other team matters. Takes some pressure off of him as a first time HC... Coyle, I'm not as versed on, but I know that he's worked under Zimmer and that has to be a good thing... It does add more credence to us switching to more of a 4-3 style D, which will upset some folks as the D will have to be revamped from a personnel view. We have some pieces that don't fit and some others that still will need replacing... I like what Rizzi has done and his STs unit is better than it was, but there is still room for improvement in the coverage and return areas... I still won't get excited until I actually see a link to the Fins about these hires...
I would have been extremely happen had we kept Nolan and hired Sherman. That would have been AWESOME...
To me, Mike Sherman looks a damned site more like Dan Henning than Kevin Coyle looks like Tony Sparano. Not that it really is of any importance.
