Well then it's a three horse race. Armando is reporting Philbin is coming in too and is ready to relocate. [UPDATE: I should have mentioned this earlier, but Philbin is clearly eager to have the job. There were questions about his emtional state following the drowning death of his 21-year-old son last week. There were questions whether Philbin would be willing to relocate his family. He is willing to relocate his family, a source close to Philbin told me.] All the interviews will be in New York, where owner Stephen Ross is spending the next couple of days. Would love to see what Plilban could do and I am not opposed to taking a second look at Bowles. I think giving him a year to put something together would not be a bad thing. We could always continue the search next year and try to parlay off of some consistency. We did not do all that bad toward the end of the season. There isn't anyone else out there anyway. Besides the hunt just got exponentially harder now that Indy just fired there coach.......shoot what coach wouldn't want to go to Indy having Peyton and the first overall pick in the draft. I bet Fisher is kicking himself in the rear right now,
I wouldn't mind Bowles at all, he did a very good "interim" job and is highly respected by the players!
Bowles is kinda meh for me. So does this mean they are not bringing in Carmichael for an interview? That's stupid.
If we do get Philbin, then I'd love to see Bowles get bumped up to DC. Looks like Indy is interested in him now too so we'll see. I hope Philbin has his mind right for the job if he do go that route.
Absolutely! Have you heard Bowles talk? Uninspiring at best.......complete waste of time. I'll say this about Nolan. He must have rubbed Irish or Ross the wrong way. How the hell did he not even get an interview? You can't argue that Nolan has accomplished more in this league than Bowles. I'm not saying Nolan is awe inspiring but look at our options. It's like sifting thru a pile of dung!
I am bowled over.I think Bowles may be the favorite as this team needs a little continuity and stability with Nolan bailing out
I would stay with Bowles remember he came close to beating the skanky Patriots. Why not promote within and the players know him.
The fact that Nolan sucked in his first stint as a HC might could maybe have something to do with it....
You realize he got 0 interviews as a HC with the other teams? I don't care what Bowles sounds like when he talks, I just want a winning football team. I don't think you know Nolan's history, if you did you wouldn't want him. A .327 head coach and a defensive coordinator who never lasts more than a few years with one team.
IMHO ... if you want an Offensive minded HC: Chudzinski > Philbin > Carmicheal if you want a Defensive minded HC: Bowles = Zimmer
Beat the Bills, Jests and should have beet the Pats. Currently no one else out there excites me. Would rather have some continuity on the team next year, and think that he deserves a second shot.
